James Malm Admits Error, But Provides Another Wrong Date

People Who Make Predictions Need to Be Sure that the Bible Supports those Predictions

COGwriter

In August 2008, in response to my posts related to him, James Malm contacted me and issued me a challenge (see James Malm Challenges COGwriter).

He had at his website and in one or more emails to me, insisted that the abomination should be set up by yesterday.  Here is some of what he wrote:

While the timing of this Festival is determined by the observance of the New Moon, the sixth day of this Festival is expected on 12 Apr 2012. Counting back from then, 1290 days, means that; the final false prophet we are awaiting, should be revealed around 30 Sep 2008 (Malm J. November 7, 2007 article titled “2008 in Prophecy).

Please, do not confuse me with R Weinland. I strongly disagree with most of what he says. For one thing I endeavour to provide scriptural backing for everything that I say. However I do say that 2008 is a critical year. As stated on the website I expect the Abomination (the man of sin) to be set up at the end of Sep and to go to the Holy Place within 75 days, triggering the occupation of Jerusalem. We shall know soon enough if I am correct! (Malm J. Email, December 2007)

I disagreed with James Malm in December 2007 (At Least Two Wrongly Claim Great Tribulation Will Begin in 2008) and also in 2008 (One More Pope?).

So, he issued me the following challenge:

Dear Robert
Yes, you did make a prediction. You predicted that nothing will happen. If something does then you will be the false prophet. Will YOU issue an admission that YOU were a false prophet? I will make a deal with you. If I have your promise to do so, then I will promise to issue a public admission that I have been wrong! Let me know!…James Malm

My response to him was:

If I am wrong, I will clearly admit it. So yes we have a deal. I hope that you will be clear if you were wrong.

(The challenge was also a news item titled James Malm Challenges COGwriter.)

Unlike Ronald Weinland (see Ronald Weinland Wrong, Again), James Malm never claimed to be God’s prophet and did issue an apology:

I have not seen any news concerning the possible empowerment of Pope Benedict on 30 Sep…

I have NEVER claimed to be an Apostle or Prophet or any such thing.  I have never claimed to speak with the Authority of God or His Christ in this matter.  I have continually encouraged everyone to challenge my conclusions and to question, to study, to use God’s Spirit and follow where it leads, to think and to learn and grow.
The truly important thing is to point all people toward Almighty God.  May His will be done!  I am making my mistakes and trying to learn and grow as well, I do feel that I should apologize for my mistakes and own up to them. When I make mistakes I may influence others wrongly.  I need to set things right and apologize for my shortcomings

I had trusted that when things did not happen by yesterday, that he would be more careful in the future.  And while he seems to feel that he is, in the same post yesterday, he also wrote:

The only possible years for the 1335 days to begin in the forseeable future are 2008 or 2009…

In short the last day of the 1335 days may occur on the day before Pentecost, making the Feast of Pentecost representative of a NEW BEGINNING IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD.  If this is true, and I shall study it further; the final False Prophet will be set up on 3 Oct 2009! (Malm. J. 2008 and Prophecy, 30 SEP 08).

I will go on record once again and state that the 1335 days cannot begin in 2008 nor in 2009.  The Bible and world events simply do not allow for this.  Do not be misled by him or anyone else on this (Why Be Concerned About False and Heretical Leaders?)

I have probably pointed out about ten times this year that the predictions of many related to 2008 were in error.  This is based upon checking the predictions with the Bible and world events.

As I have written many times, however, while the end will come, the Great Tribulation CANNOT BEGIN BEFORE 2012.
