Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg writes about Vladimir Putin, Europe, and the USA

A reader sent me a link to a recently published article that Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg  co-wrote related to Russia’s President Vladimir Putin, Europe, and the USA:

Since Vladimir Putin’s official return to power in 2012, the Russian President seems to have set his mind on teaching the rest of the world a few simple lessons. First, that he shall not be underestimated on the international stage; second, that Moscow will keep reasserting control over what it considers to be its legitimate sphere of influence for Russia; and finally, that he shall do whatever he pleases at home. To convey his message, Putin has supported a murderous dictator, lectured the U.S. about multilateralism, blackmailed his neighbors into accepting Moscow’s ironfisted embrace, inflamed anti-American and anti-gay sentiments, and brutally cracked down on dissidents…When it comes to the honorable title of Bully of the Year, the Russian President surely triumphed in 2013. But all too often bullies fail with their homework. Russia’s economy is crumbling. Moscow revised downward its economic outlook in December, the fourth time it did so last year…

Germany is the country that has often emphasized the importance of building bridges to Russia, and has come up with policies like “change through rapprochement.” But by now, Putin’s zero-sum game mentality and hard power push have provoked even the otherwise not-so-confrontational German Chancellor to take action…

Moreover, Putin also made the E.U. look much better than it otherwise does these days…Ukrainians have now reminded us of the transformative influence that the always too slow and never too effective E.U. can still have on young democracies…

Whether they are real successes or not for Putin, recent events should serve as a wake-up call for leaders on both sides of the Atlantic. The U.S. should return to long-term and extensive foreign policy planning. The primary reason for Putin’s self-aggrandizing behavior is the astonishing leadership vacuum in the world. Washington’s recent preference to let other nations, including Russia, lead on international affairs has eroded the U.S.’s authority…

As for Europe, it finally seems to recognize that it needs to be capable of taking care of its own neighborhood. http://ideas.time.com/2014/01/06/putin-is-basking-in-an-astonishing-leadership-vacuum/#ixzz2plTZcjnG

Notice that Baron Guttenberg recognizes that there is a leadership void that USA policy has now caused and that Russia’s President Putin is attempting to fill it.  Russia’s President is pragmatic, but also ambitious.  He wants Russia to have more influence and wants to create a Eurasian Union.

And while that Eurasian Union is consistent with certain biblical prophecies, that group is not the Beast power of Revelation 13–Revelation 13 is referring to a European power which is in the process of rising up–and this is something that Baron Guttenberg seems to want to make happen.

Notice that in the article, Baron Guttenberg says he wants Europe to take care of its own backyard.  Essentially, this is a way of saying that he feels that Europe needs to be able to deal with Russia on its own.  This does not bode well for the USA as the Bible tells the time that a European Beast power will arise again (Revelation 13:1-3), win wars (Revelation 13:4), and essentially eliminate the USA (cf. Daniel 11:39).

To do that, Europe will need to increase its military technology–and it is doing just that.

Baron Guttenberg himself was once the Defense Minister for Germany until he was embarrassed by a plagiarism scandal in 2011, then voluntarily resigned (Angela Merkel had said that he did not have to leave or resign) and went on a self-imposed exile to the USA.

He has in the past indicated that Europe needs a strong leader.  I have suggested that the time may well come that he could be that leader.

The Bible warns of a strong leader who will rise up who will have had problems (Daniel 11:21).  This leader will be from an area north of Jerusalem (like Europe; see also (see also Jerusalem: Past, Present, and Future).  He will apparently be charismatic (cf. Daniel 7:20,11:21-24,31; Revelation 13:3-5) and lead a confederation that does not stick well together (Daniel 2:42-43), like many of the nations of the European Union.

The Baron has long had political ambitions and made statements suggesting that he wants to play a more international role.

Currently, Baron Guttenberg is involved in certain policy positions in various groups, including one that is part of the European Union. He has also partially-fulfilled at least seven speculative predictions I posted about him (see Might German Baron Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg become the King of the North?).

It is important to remember that there are more than a dozen New Testament admonitions to watch and be alert to the signs of the times in the last days (see Matthew 24:42-44; 25:13; Mark 13:33-37; Luke 21:34-36; Acts 20:31; 1 Thessalonians 5:6, 20).

Partially because of what he writes about,  partially because of his ancestry, partially because of his religious views, and partially because of his demonstrated political ambitions, Karl Guttenberg is one to watch.

Can You Prove that the Beast to Come is European? The Book of Revelation tells of a beast power that will rise up. Some think that this must be Russia or could be Islamic, while others say that this power is European. The Book of Daniel tells of the rise of an end time King of the North that some think must be referring to a Russian leader, while others say that this power is European. How can you be sure? This YouTube video has all the scriptural proofs that you should need to prove that this power must be a European one.
