More violence in the USA: Obama blamed by Joe Walsh

Alton Sterling just before being shot

There has been a lot of violence in the USA:

July 8, 2016

Dallas police say a deadly ambush Thursday that killed five police officers during a protest was a “well-planned” attack carried out by several people.

The U.S. military has confirmed one of the people, widely reported in U.S. media to be Micah Xavier Johnson, is a former Army Reservist who served in Afghanistan. Three other people, who have not been identified, are also detained in connection with the attack.

Cornered by police after the ambush, a suspect — believed to be Johnson — told a negotiator he wanted “to kill white people, especially white (police) officers,” and said he was acting alone and was unaffiliated with any groups, Dallas Police Chief David Brown said during a news conference Friday.

The suspect was then killed by police in an intentional explosion after talks broke down. Police used a bomb robot to detonate an unspecified explosive device near him, the police chief said.

Later in the day, Brown said the investigation, however, has “revealed to us this was a well planned, well thought out, evil tragedy by these suspects.”

“We won’t rest until we bring everyone involved to justice,” Brown added.

Ambush

The attack, which city officials labeled an “ambush,” happened toward the end of a demonstration against the killing of two black men by white police officers in Minnesota and Louisiana earlier this week. The suspect told police he was “upset” about recent police shootings, Brown said.

Seven other police officers and two civilians were wounded in the ambush, the city’s mayor said Friday morning.

The suspect told police they would eventually find bombs planted in the city; a suspicious package has been secured by the city’s bomb squad near the site of the attack.

City officials originally said multiple “snipers” were involved in the attack, but details of how many people were part of the ambush remain unclear. The Dallas police chief said one of the detained suspects is a woman. The other two suspects being interviewed, Brown said, were seen with camouflage bags, prompting officers to follow their car. …

About 1,000 people attended the Dallas rally to protest the shooting deaths of two men in Minnesota and Louisiana by police officers earlier this week. Both incidents, captured on video, led to demonstrations in many U.S. cities. http://www.voanews.com/content/shooting-in-dallas/3408984.html

Baton Rouge Police Department spokesman Cpl. L’Jean McKneely said police are “not aware” of a connection between the triple shooting on Gus Young Avenue and protests nearby related to the Alton Sterling fatal shooting case. …

Sandra Sterling, the aunt of Alton Sterling who had raised him, arrived at shooting scene and implored people to go home.

“Y’all going to keep fighting for my son?” she asked while crying.

Kimberly Williams-Cowart, who lives in the neighborhood, said these shootings make her fear for the safety of her 24-year-old son, who she described as “my life.”

“Our community is outraged. We are outraged not only about the shooting of Alton Sterling, but we are outraged over these shootings,” she said. http://theadvocate.com/news/16342399-55/reported-shooting-in-baton-rouge-on-thursday-night-near-scene-of-alton-sterling-shooting

ST. PAUL — Protests over the fatal shooting of Philando Castile by a suburban police officer stretched well into Friday morning near the Minnesota governor’s residence, as new details about the encounter emerged and many here continued calling for a federal inquiry.

Late Thursday night, the authorities said Mr. Castile, a 32-year-old cafeteria supervisor at a St. Paul school, had been killed by multiple gunshot wounds, and the medical examiner ruled his death a homicide. State investigators identified the officer who shot him as Jeronimo Yanez, a four-year veteran of the St. Anthony Police Department.

Much remained unknown about the events leading up to the shooting, about Officer Yanez’s background, and about whether the Justice Department would open a separate, federal investigation into the case.

All through Thursday, hundreds of protesters had gathered outside the governor’s residence in St. Paul, many prompted to act by the Facebook Live video streamed by Mr. Castile’s girlfriend showing the graphic aftermath of the shooting. Both Gov. Mark Dayton, a Democrat, and President Obama spoke out after the shooting, expressing concern about encounters with police officers that have left African-Americans like Mr. Castile dead. http://www.nytimes.com/2016/07/09/us/philando-castile-jeronimo-yanez.html?_r=0

Racially-motivated killing, like that done for sure by the Dallas shooter (and perhaps possibly by one or more of the police officers this week–and as that is being investigated that allegation is not publicly certain) is wrong.

Here are some comments from US President Barack Obama and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump:

July 8, 2016

“If communities are mistrustful of the police, that makes those law enforcement officers who are doing a great job, who are doing the right thing, that makes their lives harder,” Obama said, in his first public address from Warsaw. “When people say ‘black lives matter,’ it doesn’t mean that blue lives don’t matter. But right now, the data shows that black folks are more vulnerable to these kinds of incidents. There is a particular burden that is being placed on a group of our fellow citizens.”

Donald Trump, meanwhile, went a different path and put out a statement that expressed sorrow for the victims, but called for a return to “law and order” and less divisiveness.

“We must restore law and order. We must restore the confidence of our people to be safe and secure in their homes and on the street,” he said.

Trump then spoke of the earlier “senseless, tragic deaths of two motorists” in Baton Rouge and Minnesota, and offered “thoughts and prayers” for all the victims’ families.

“We pray for our brave police officers and first responders who risk their lives to protect us every single day,” he went on. “Our nation has become too divided. Too many Americans feel like they’ve lost hope. Crime is harming too many citizens. Racial tensions have gotten worse, not better. This isn’t the American Dream we all want for our children. This is a time, perhaps more than ever, for strong leadership, love and compassion. We will pull through these tragedies.” http://www.wnd.com/2016/07/obama-on-vicious-dallas-shootings-lets-remember-black-lives-matter/#T5id1ESItPItmGJu.99

Notice some of Joe Walsh’s view of Barack Obama (basically made before President Obama’s comments today):

July 8, 2016

Former Illinois Congressman Joe Walsh declared “This is now war” and called for President Barack Obama to “watch out” in a Twitter post reacting to the Dallas shooting that killed five police officers and injured seven.

“This is now war. Watch out Obama. Watch out black lives matter punks. Real America is coming after you,” he wrote in the tweet, which has since been deleted.

In subsequent tweets that remained posted as of early Friday, he called the shooters “uneducated black thugs” and blamed Obama and the Black Lives Matter movement for the officers’ deaths.

“I wasn’t calling for violence, against Obama or anyone. Obama’s words and BLM’s deeds have gotten cops killed,” he tweeted.

The Dallas police officers were shot during protest against police brutality Thursday, police there said.

An unrepentant Walsh stood by his tweets Friday morning, saying in a Tribune interview: “Of course I didn’t mean ‘let’s go kill Obama and Black Lives Matter.’ I was not trying to incite violence against Obama and Black Lives Matter. That’s crazy and stupid and wrong.”

He added: “It would end my career and it’s wrong. I would never say anything as reprehensible as that.”

Walsh, a talk radio host who lives in suburban Chicago, said he has had a sleepless night because of death threats against him on social media. He said he had asked for local police protection. …

The controversial tweet was posted at 10:56 p.m. Thursday.

According to Walsh, it was up for an hour or so when he received word electronically from Twitter that it had suspended his account.

“They said the tweet might look like it might incite violence,” he said.

He said he was allowed to reopen his account only if the tweet was deleted, which he said had happened without him taking action.

“Twitter, Facebook — they’re all liberal,” he said. “They’re private companies and they got their standards that I have to follow if I want to be on Twitter. It is what it is.”

“The pre-condition for me reopening my account was they had to delete that tweet,” Walsh said. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/ct-joe-walsh-twitter-dallas-tweet-20160708-story.html

Although many had high hopes that racial tensions would lesson because of the 2008 election of Barack Obama as US President, that has not seemed to be the case.

As the USA moves further away from biblically-related morality and justice, increased violence is expected.

Violence, itself, often begets violence.

The Bible teaches:

9 ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Enough, O princes of Israel! Remove violence and plundering, execute justice and righteousness (Ezekiel 45:9)

9…You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 10 Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. (Romans 13:9-10)

As far as violence goes, the Bible shows that God is against violence and that destruction will come because of it:

23 ‘Make a chain,
For the land is filled with crimes of blood,
And the city is full of violence.
24 Therefore I will bring the worst of the Gentiles,
And they will possess their houses;
I will cause the pomp of the strong to cease,
And their holy places shall be defiled. (Ezekiel 7:23-24)

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality…30…violent, proud, boasters,…31…unmerciful; 32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them. (Romans 1:28-32)

8…And the violence of the land and the city, And of all who dwell in it. ( Habakkuk 2:8)

Notice the violence is prophesied to result in the worst of the Gentiles to come and take possession of houses–this will happen to the USA during the Great Tribulation (see also When Will the Great Tribulation Begin?).

There will be more violence in the USA.

Even now, it can be said of various cities in the USA, “the city is full of violence.
