Ron Weinland Falsely Claims ‘Work of the Two Witnesses is Over’

VS.

COGwriter

In CGPFK/CGPKG’s Ronald Weinland first sermon of (5/27/12, titled Pentecost to Pentecost), he stated (this is from my notes, not an online transcript, so their could be minor issues, plus I added the location of the scripture he cited twice):

We have proven, by how we live, who we are…We have followed the way God has led us…It’s just a bit farther…

Pentecost 2012 is being proven incorrect for the return of Jesus Christ…Does that negate that I am God’s witness and prophet?  Absolutely not!…

It will be on a Pentecost that Jesus will return…We just didn’t know there would be a little more to the race…Jesus Christ is to return on Pentecost…

All have to examine, reexamine, where they are…So many things we have not understood.  The work of the two witnesses is over…We are going into a different phase…

Mockers…have to excuse away what they do not want to hear…

There is no contradiction in God’s word…

There is only one answer to where we are…

Jesus Christ must return on Pentecost…What does it mean?..

And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:
The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come: And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. {Acts 2:19-21}

Beautiful.  I think of the 63,000…There is so much coming brethren.  So much that is exciting…The three and a half years is finished.  The job of the two witnesses is complete.  My job as a prophet and apostle continues…

Is this {Acts 2:19-21} teaching that the sun will turn into darkness before the Day of the Lord?  No, no, no…In the New Testament, especially, things are messed up…they don’t have the grammar…

Mockers…people will have a ‘hay day’ with it…

You can run another year…

More in 2008 in God’s Final Witness will come to pass…Now we can see…

What follows the work of the two witnesses now being completed?  We move forward…

Jesus Christ did not eternally exist…

It is in God’s hands…I understand the outrage that some will manifest by these words…God has brought us to this point in time…

We move forward ever thankful for the last 3 1/2 years we have not suffered {physically} as we could have…

A few things have to happen..for Europe…to grant people more time for repentance…

Now we move forward and continue on…We are going to be waiting another year.  For we know it has to occur on Pentecost…We are God’s true church.  There is nowhere else to go.

Let’s consider these matters.  Ron Weinland has once again proven that he was a false prophet.  He did not follow God’s way or God’s word–yet tries to claim otherwise.

Ronald Weinland is right that people who follow him should reexamine where they are and that there is no contradiction in God’s word.  Because of that, they should not stay and support him.  His teachings often contradict God’s word.

The only one answer to the truth about Ronald Weinland, is not his explanation, but it is that he is a false prophet, was not one of God’s two witnesses, and he is also a false apostle.

While he is claiming that mockers “have to excuse away what they do not want to hear,” is it not he and those that follow him that have to overlook the truth that Ron Weinald was wrong and thus clearly was a false prophet?

The job of the two witnesses has not even formally started, yet Ron Weinland is claiming that it is over.  He made false declarations on this.  The truth is that Ron Weinland himself was never one of the two witnesses and never fulfilled any of the prophecies related to them in Revelation 11:3-10 (see also Who Are The Two Witnesses?).

Furthermore, Jesus Christ has eternally existed (Jesus is God, But Became Flesh).  Those who deny that are false teachers (those who are unsure should check out the article Was Unitarianism the Teaching of the Bible or Early Church? and Binitarianism: One God, Two Beings Before the Beginning).

CGPFKG is not a Church of God, it is the Church of Ron.  There certainly are other places his followers can go if they are willing to accept the truth (see, for example, the article Which COG for You?).

Perhaps I should add that he spent a fair amount of time complaining about how he feels that New Testament translators misunderstand Greek grammar (more than I quoted from the sermon), and he was trying to claim that is why people misunderstand what the Bible teaches about prophetic events.  Of course, the fact that he insisted that Jesus would return by now proves that he has not understood many prophetic matters from the Bible.

Those who are listening to him now need to realize that this is the same Ron Weinland who previously declared all of the following:

If we come to the point in time where what I’ve said doesn’t come to pass, the reality is that I’m just a false prophet. That’s the bottom line…The reality is if it doesn’t happen, then you’re just false…I’ll acknowledge my error, my wrong, if I’m wrong (The Edge Radio, December 15, 2007)

You know, one of the things as well, what if Ron Weinland, what he says doesn’t come to pass in April, what if these things don’t happen in 2008. I think about, you know, what have I said in interviews? There’s really a simple answer. False prophet. You know, I get tons of email, I get email every day from people saying, “Well I guess in 2009,” a lot of sarcasm comes out, “I guess you’re gonna be saying this or saying that or trying to explain to people”, No, I’m done. (Sermon, Stay the Course, Part 1, December 2007)

If by Pentecost I’m just going to make this real clear to everyone. If by Pentecost it is not powerfully and abundantly clear that there has been a great deal of destruction that will clearly encompass a third of all plant life in the US and at least the clear results of this mingled with blood the death of very much animal life and the beginning of large numbers of human life then I will stop preaching. Just so all the critics and everyone out there will understand. I am true to my word in these things. OK? And for all the critics if by the end of July and for most likely around Pentecost if nothing has clearly caused great destruction and death I will make it very clear that I was a false prophet. I will do exactly what I said I would do on all of those interviews that I have held; to do less, aah well, would be quite insane. (Weinland R. Three More Weeks–quote from near the 1 hour 28 minute point from the CGPFK website version. Sermon given March 29, 2008).

If it doesn’t pan out the only thing I would do is uh . So if I responded to anything at all was to explain to people I was a false prophet that’s the only answer. That I’m no longer a minister. (Mike McConnell Show.  April 7, 2008)

If things do not by mid-June very clearly so, I will make it clear that I was a false prophet and I will never preach again (James Whale Show. April 10, 2010)

So, if I’m not a prophet I’ll reason with you accordingly and be open with you about it…So often for those who do not believe that I’m a prophet, the question is asked, “What will you do if these things do not come to pass?” And I’m going to answer that more fully in this particular sermon today…So again, some cannot wait for me to say that I am not a prophet, or to say that I am a false prophet. Indeed, no one has long to wait do they? Isn’t that amazing? May 27, 2012 is not too far away and if Europe hasn’t risen by early 2012 and if China does not begin destroying the earth before that date, then the reality would be manifest much sooner, obviously. You don’t have to wait until 2012.  As far as the question they ask; what would I do? Well, first I’d repent before God and the Church. I’d acknowledge my sin and pray that God have mercy upon me for being so horribly presumptuous. Candidly (and some are going to really hate hearing this), I’d deeply repent of all those things that concern prophecies that I have given in the office of a prophet…I’d go back through all 57 Truths and eliminate those that are shown to be untrue, repenting as I did so; but I would hold fast to all that I believed to be true. (Weinland R. A Final Plea, With Judgment – Pt. 1. March 12, 2011)

This 5/27/12 sermon is the first of Ron Weinland’s sermons that I have listened to in its entirety for a while.  He did not resign or sound repentant to me.  he clearly is still preaching and claiming to be God’s prophet, despite stating that he would stop if he was wrong.  In my view, Ronald Weinland has again failed to truly repent–he mainly indicated that his understanding of matters is changing as God supposedly leads him.  And though he admits some of his teachings were wrong (though not with those words and not in a way that hinted of real repentance), he says he plans to continue.

The scriptural passage that I would like to mention here would be the following:

21 “And if you say in your heart, ‘How shall we know the word which the LORD has not spoken?’– 22 when a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD, if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him (Deuteronomy 18:21-22).

How many times does Ronald Weinland have to be wrong for his followers to open their eyes and believe the Bible over him?

In his 5/27/12 sermon, Ron Weinland read from letters (emails presumably) from supporters who will still be supporting him.  And he also mentioned that his church has so far disfellowshiped at least one person who did not like Ron Weinland’s explanation in his 5/26/12 post about the non-return of Jesus.

Ronald Weinland is sadly still fulfilling 2 Peter 2:

2:1 But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. 2 And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. 3 By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber (2 Peter 2:1-3).

Today is Pentecost.  This is a day that the Bible called for repentance:

37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.  (Acts 2:37-38, KJV)

Having realized that they were wrong, Ron Weinland and his followers should repent, not declare that they are part of the true church and continue as they have been.

Ron Weinland and his followers need to realize that what they have been teaching about prophetic matters (and Jesus Christ) is wrong.  Today, they need to repent.

Some have asked why cover Ron Weinland so much this month?  There are several reasons that I will list below:

  1. He has spent a great deal of money advertising on the internet lately which generated a lot more interest in what he teaches.
  2. He claims to be a Church of God leader and I want people to realize that I do not believe that he, who denies the deity of Christ, can possibly be part of the COG.  He is not.
  3. For the first time in nearly four years, “Ronald Weinland” is the top Google search term that people used that came to COGwriter.com in any specific month.  The fact is that I am NOT promoting his message, but instead providing information to thousands that are interested in learning why he is not who he says he is.
  4. Since his predictions have proven to be wrong within the last 24 hours, I believe that this is a time to reach out to those who have followed him to explain why he had to have been wrong, and why they should not, according to the Bible, continue to follow him any more.
  5. He keeps trying to put his ‘spin’ on what is happening, and my hope and prayer is that his followers will instead check out what I am reporting with the Bible to see that his repeated ‘smooth words’ are often in contradiction to scripture.
  6. Today is Pentecost and is a time to call for repentance and true conversion.
  7. I again wish to call for him and his followers to repent.  Most of the Jews and many others thought that they were the part of God’s church, yet the Apostle Peter said they still needed to repent and this message is still applicable to those who have followed Ron Weinland.

And yes, while I expect to mention Ron Weinland from time to time in the future, he should again get less coverage here as his internet reach should plummet again and there will be less interest that he is generating.

(Because of Ron Weinland related matters, the false self-appointed apostle David Pack of the Restored Church of God, decided to quote me and throw insults to me.  His quotes and comments are shown on the News of those once affiliated with the Global Church of God page with the 5/27/12 a.m. date.)

Deception is a powerful thing, but through Jesus it can be overcome (Philippians 4:13).  Believe God, for “he who does not believe God has made Him a liar” (1 John 5:10).

Please do not let false prophets and false apostles like Ron Weinland turn you away from the God of the Bible.  Today is Pentecost, the appropriate time to repent.
