The Great Tribulation cannot begin before 2018

When is the earliest year that the Great Tribulation can?

Various ones seem to feel that it can begin in 2014 or 2015 or that it already started some time ago.

Those who believed and understand what the Bible actually teaches realize that the Great Tribulation cannot begin before 2018.

Jesus gave a variety of signs/events that had to happen prior the start of the Great Tribulation in Matthew 24. Not only have many not happened, a preceding event in Daniel 9:27 involving the confirmation of a seven-year deal still has not happened. Since it did not happen as of July 6, 2014, this means that it is not possible for the Great Tribulation to begin for at least 3 1/2 years (half of a biblically-prophetic week).

At this instant, unless we see more major conflict in the Middle East between now and the end of the Summer, it is unlikely that the Great Tribulation can begin prior to 2019.

The Great Tribulation is coming, but it will not begin in 2014. And, as I announced within days after Barack Obama was re-elected, I did not believe that it would can begin until after his second term ended. And as of July 7, 2014, I do not believe that it can begin prior to 2018.

That being said, I posted a news item last month which showed why the COGs associated with the Sardis and Laodicean churches could not possibly know when the Great Tribulation will begin unless they change (see Is there a need for a prophet now?).

CG7, for one example, believes that most events in the Book of Revelation have already been fulfilled, so they are not officially looking for it. And the Laodicean churches have added extra, non-biblical events/requirements to precede the Great Tribulation, that are not necessary and hence those who believe them will NOT believe that the Great Tribulation will start until it is too late (see also The Laodicean Church Era).

The Great Tribulation will, of course, come some day per Jesus’ statement in Matthew 24:21. And those that will listen and truly understand what Jesus taught in Matthew 24 and what He referred to in the Book of Daniel, can understand.

Yet, according to Jesus’ words to the churches in Revelation 2 & 3, relatively few (the remnant of the Philadelphia Church Era only). Will you truly listen and truly understand?

6. The Philadelphia Church Era was predominant circa 1933 A.D. to 1986 A.D. The old Radio Church of God and old Worldwide Church of God, now basically the most faithful in the Church of God, like who hold to the beliefs and practices of the Continuing Church of God.
7. The Laodicean Church Era has been predominant circa 1986 A.D. to present. These are non-Philadelphians who mainly descended from the old WCG.
