TW: Fourth Reich Re-Emerging in Germany?

In today’s TW News & Prophecy, LCG reported the following:

Resurgent Germany: A Fourth Reich?

In 2007, the cover article of Tomorrow’s World magazine asked the question Resurgent Germany: A Fourth Reich? (see September-October issue). Last week, London’s Daily Mail ran an article entitled, “Rise of the Fourth Reich, how Germany is using the financial crisis to conquer Europe.”With the recent announcement that French banks are in fiscal trouble, French President Sarkozy and Germany’s Angela Merkel are both pushing the merits of a European “fiscal union.” The Daily Mail warned, “For be in no doubt what fiscal union means: it is one economic policy, one taxation system, one social security system, one debt, one economy, one finance minister. And all of the above would be German.” The article’s author concluded: “Where Hitler failed by military means to conquer Europe, modern Germans are succeeding through trade and financial discipline. Welcome to the Fourth Reich“ (Daily Mail, August 17, 2011).

Based on Bible prophecies, this Work has been warning–since the final days of World War II–that Germany would rise again to lead Europe at the end of this age! Today, we see a disciplined German economic powerhouse that must lead Europe in order to keep itself afloat. Bible prophecies have long warned that the end of the age would be marked by a German-led European beast power composed of ten kingdoms (nations or groups) that will eventually surrender their power to a central authority (Revelation 17:4-13).

Experts now say that for Europe to survive the current financial crisis, it must downsize from the current 16-nation eurozone. It will be interesting to see how this will occur. For more information on this topic, review our article Resurgent Germany: A Fourth Reich?

As the above indicates, we in the Living Church of God have long taught that Germany (Assyria in end time prophecy) would be the driving force in the end-time European Beast power as well as having a future role in God’s kingdom. It is interesting that secular sources are more and more starting to indicate that we have long been correct about that.

Certain scholars believe that the Assyrian peoples migrated into central Europe in ancient times and are now represented by the Germanic peoples. Even the Catholic saint Jerome indicated that the descendants of the biblical Asshur (Genesis 10:22) which seems to be Assyria (Radmacher Concordance in. Nelson Study Bible, p. 11), ended up in parts of Europe (Jerome. Letter CXXIII to Ageruchia, Chapter 16. Translated by W.H. Fremantle, G. Lewis and W.G. Martley. The Bible also shows:

5 “Woe to Assyria, the rod of My anger
And the staff in whose hand is My indignation.
6 I will send him against an ungodly nation,
And against the people of My wrath
I will give him charge,
To seize the spoil, to take the prey,
And to tread them down like the mire of the streets.
7 Yet he does not mean so,
Nor does his heart think so;
But it is in his heart to destroy,
And cut off not a few nations. (Isaiah 10:5-7)

Notice that even though Assyria (modern Germany) does not think it means to, it is in the national character to destroy and cut off nations. Germany is getting the wealth and influence that ultimately will allow it to fulfill that prophecy. The Bible is also clear that Assyria will be an end time northern power that God will punish per Zephaniah 2:13-15, which seems to go along with Revelation 18:1-10. And lately, Germany’s power seems to be rising up on the world and European scene.

Unlike Adolf Hitler’s militaristic Third Reich, this “Fourth Reich” is starting at first to conquer as an economic power. The Bible is clear that the Beast of Revelation will try to have economic control:

16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. 18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666. (Revelation 13:16-18)

However, the Beast will also be known as a military power:

3 And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast. 4 So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?” (Revelation 13:3-4)

Currently, the USA is the strongest military power on the planet. And at the end, it seems to be the nation with the “strongest fortresses” that gets taken over and divided by the final European (cf. Daniel 9:26-27) King of the North (Daniel 11:39), who is also the final Beast of Revelation 13. Despite its strength, more and more there are signs of weakness in US military strength.

So, while the USA is weakening militarily AND will likely make major military cuts for debt and budget purposes, the economic influence of Germany is growing. The Fourth Reich that seems to be emerging will become more than simply an economic power, it will be a military one as well.
