WT: America faces most dangerous two years in 150 years

The Washington Times believes that US President Barack Obama was shellacked in yesterday’s election, but will be very dangerous for the country while he remains in office:

Washington Times – Nov 5, 2014  excerpt…

If President Obama suffered a “shellacking” in the 2010 elections, then what he endured Tuesday night was nothing short of a vicious gangland beatdown the likes of which have rarely been seen before in the history of electoral politics.

This, of course, is a wonderful and well-deserved outcome. But beware: America now enters the two most dangerous years of her  existence — or certainly the most dangerous since the Great Depression and possibly going all the way back to the Civil War….

And this is where things get very, very dangerous for America. President Obama still has two more years left in his final term.

Already, he has demonstrated again and again that he has no regard for the constitution or the legitimacy of laws when they do not suit his agenda. He flaunts his disregard for the constitutional process, dismisses laws he doesn’t like and rewrites others… http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/nov/5/hurt-america-faces-most-dangerous-two-years-150-ye/

Here are some other views and accounts of the election and what is ahead:

November 5, 2014

Make no mistake—what happened on Tuesday was the equivalent of a political earthquake and the aftershocks will be felt in Washington for the foreseeable future.

The Republican path to a Senate majority ran through several Democratic seats in so-called Red States where Republicans have been strong in recent elections, including the 2012 presidential race.  Republicans easily won key Senate races in Arkansas, West Virginia, Montana and South Dakota.

They also won Democratic Senate seats in key swing states like Colorado, Iowa and North Carolina – states that were essential building blocks for Obama’s 2012 re-election and which will play a key role in the 2016 presidential race as well. http://www.voanews.com/content/column-republican-rout-now-what/2509260.html

November 5, 2014

Consider:

  • The GOP netted at least seven Senate contests, more than the six needed to win control of the U.S. Senate, and it’s possible they win two more — (Alaska and Louisiana).
  • The party captured three of the four Senate contests taking place in presidential battleground states – Colorado, Iowa, North Carolina – coming up JUST short in New Hampshire. And, oh, btw, they almost won another in prized Virginia (and who knows what could happen when the state does its re-canvass);
  • It ran up the score in the extremely competitive gubernatorial contests, winning in Florida, Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan and Wisconsin;
  • And it even won a race it had absolutely no business winning: the gubernatorial contest in deep-blue Maryland.

The Democratic coalition collapses

It wasn’t the map that did in the Democrats (after all, explain the losses in Maryland and Maine); it’s wasn’t your typical Six-Year Itch election; and it wasn’t an anti-incumbent mood (Rick Scott, Scott Walker, Rick Snyder, even Paul LePage all won). Rather, what we saw was collapse of the Democratic coalition that helped elect President Obama in 2008 and 2012. If Democrats were going to hold off a Republican tsunami, they needed their base voters to come out to the polls and pull the lever for the president’s party. …

And now the White House is in a TOUGH spot: After last night’s election results, does Obama go ahead and issue his executive action on immigration and start a war with the GOP? Or does he put it off to find areas to work with Republicans, which only will alienate Latino voters? Pick your poison. Given the current situation, we think the White House wishes it went ahead and issued that executive action back in the summer. http://www.nbcnews.com/politics/first-read/wave-after-all-recapping-gops-historic-night-n241881

November 5, 2014

Voters handed control of the Senate to Republicans for the first time in eight years on Tuesday, putting the GOP in charge of Congress for the remainder of President Obama’s term.

Republicans swept to victory in a string of contests across the country, retaining every one of the GOP-held seats up for grabs and picking up more than the six seats needed to take control of the Senate. …

The Obama factor may have weighed heavily over the vote Tuesday night. Fox News Exit Polls show more than a third of voters — 34 percent — said they voted to show they’re opposed to Obama’s policies. That number was a bit higher in 2010.

By contrast, just 20 percent voted to show support for Obama. Forty-five percent said it was not a factor.

The economy was by far the biggest issue for voters; 43 percent said it was the most important issue. Of those worried about the direction of the economy, they voted for the Republican candidate by a 20-point difference, exit polls show. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2014/11/05/republicans-aim-for-senate-takeover-democrats-look-to-dash-gop-hopes/

November 5, 2014

Republicans have recaptured control of the U.S. Senate and expanded their edge in the House of Representatives, giving them a majority in both houses of Congress for the final two years of President Barack Obama’s presidency.

A third of the Senate was up for reelection Tuesday, including the Kentucky seat held by Senate Republican Mitch McConnell from Kentucky. He earned a sixth term in office and will become Senate majority leader in January.

McConnell told supporters that the election was not about him or his Democratic opponent, Alison Lundergan Grimes.

“It was about a government that people no longer trust to carry out its most basic duties: to keep them safe, to protect the border, to provide dignified and quality care for our veterans,” McConnell said, adding the government was “too busy focusing on things it shouldn’t be focused on at all.” …

Obama’s agenda faces challenge

McConnell told supporters he hopes to work with Obama, a Democrat, despite ideological differences.

“I do not expect the president to wake up tomorrow and view the world any differently than he did this morning. He knows I will not, either,” McConnell said. “But we do have an obligation to work together on issues where we can agree.”

House Speaker John Boehner said the Republican-controlled Congress will work on energy and jobs legislation, which he said Senate Democrats have been stalling while in control. “It’s time for government to start getting results,” he said.

With control of Congress, Republicans could raise new disputes with Obama over his signature legislative achievement, health care reform, which has allowed millions of people to secure insurance coverage they could not previously afford. Many Republicans view the law as excessive government involvement, and have repeatedly called for its repeal.

Republicans also have attacked Obama’s handling of the Ebola crisis and called for approval of an oil pipeline from Canada through the central U.S., and a curb on government regulation of businesses.

Some opposition lawmakers have disputed the president’s handling of Russia’s intervention in Ukraine and U.S. airstrikes against Islamic State militants in Iraq and Syria.

The United States’ two main political parties also are feuding over spending and tax policies and immigration reform.

Obama had vowed to set new immigration rules by executive order by the end of the year, after the House balked at acting on comprehensive reforms approved by the Senate. Some Republicans already are saying they will seek to block the president from unilaterally changing the country’s immigration policies to allow millions of migrants who entered illegally to stay in the United States.

Troubled by political gridlock

Many voters said they are disgusted with political gridlock between Democrats and Republicans in Washington.

“They have to start doing something,” Arizona voter Lee Deremo said of congressional politicians, “and I think it just needs to change, plain and simple.”

Anger with Washington played heavily in the elections, according to Republican strategist Ford O’Connell: “Two-thirds of America thought the country was going in the wrong direction. They wanted a change in direction. And now it is up to Republicans to bring that change.”

Tuesday’s vote was a referendum on Obama’s leadership, according to American University professor Allan Lichtman.

“President Obama dragged down the Democrats,” the political historian said via Skype. “It is not as if Republicans in this election represented grand ideas, inspiring solutions to national problems. They were simply pinning every Democrat [candidate] to an unpopular Democratic president.”

Reacting to a new political reality in Washington, Obama has invited congressional leaders of both houses and both political parties to the White House Friday. http://www.voanews.com/content/republicans-win-control-of-us-senate-in-midterm-elections/2508989.html

The blatant partisanship, combined with the rejection of biblical truth, is what is dangerous for the USA.  This has happened in both parties.

The Bible talks of those who reject God, yet endorse sexual immorality, including the homosexual agenda:

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man — and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.

24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, 30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; 32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them. (Romans 1:18-32)

The change in control of the Senate of the USA will not change the moral direction of the country.

Of course, what many in the USA are concerned about is political gridlock.  Some view gridlock as a good thing as it slows down the growth of government programs and changes.  Others are concerned that this gridlock means that need reforms will not take place and that there will be many budget and other crises in the future.

Some believe that Barack Obama will do what he indicated in his last ‘State of the Union’ address.  Which is?  Issue every type of ‘executive order’ he thinks he might be able to get by with and hope to thus avoid Congress on issues that matter to him.

As far as the next several months or years go, some have recently indicated that an economic crash will happen in the USAtowards the end of 2014 (watch: Market Collapse then New World Order in 2015?) or in 2015 (watch: Project Prophecy: Economic Collapse Starting in 2015?).  A massive economic collapse is coming, but not that soon.

Having Republicans control Congress will give any Democratic challengers for the White House opportunists for blaming Republicans for being obstructionist, and may actually help the final Democratic candidate for the Office of President.

As far as danger for America goes, despite political issues, the next two years will be nothing compared to the danger and destruction that will come to the USA during the Great Tribulation–an event that WILL NOT start until well after Barack Obama’s current term of office ends.
