Islamic Law to Be Implemented in Egypt, then on to Jerusalem?

The Muslim Brotherhood has been doing well in Egypt’s elections.  And while that may not continue, notice the following:

Brotherhood’s Mursi to apply Islamic Law in Egypt if he wins presidential race

Ahram Online – ‎8 May 2012…
Mursi, the Muslim Brotherhood’s presidential candidate, declared that the application of Islamic Law represented the sole means by which Egyptians might “restore their dignity…

In a related development, prominent Egyptian cleric Safwat Hegazi threw his weight behind Mursi’s presidential campaign, comparing the Brotherhood candidate to celebrated medieval Muslim leader Salah Al-Din, who united the Muslim world, vanquished the crusaders and liberated Jerusalem from the foreign invaders.

Mursi, Hegazi declared, “is the one who will lead us to Jerusalem.”

Notice what the Muslim Brotherhood has also indicated that it wants:

…the [Muslim Brotherhood] Society was established for, that is, establishing the State of Islam, headed by the Islamic Caliphate, in order to establish Allah religion on Allah’s land…(Source: The Muslim Brotherhood – in its own words Translation of “Jihad is the way” by Mustafa Mashhur Leader of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, 1996-2002 by Itamar Marcus and Nan Jacques Zilberdik. http://www.palwatch.org/STORAGE/special%20reports/Jihad_is_the_way_by_Mustafa_Mashhur.pdf viewed 04/30/11)

According to many Muslims, “Allah’s land” is supposedly all nations from Spain to Indonesia, although I believe that mainly the area from Morocco to possibly Afghanistan should be considered to be in play, perhaps even involving Pakistan and others.  It wants Israelis out of Palestine.

And as far as Jerusalem goes, it wants Jerusalem to be the capital of its caliphate.  Those in the nation of Israel, of course, do not want that, but the goal of the Muslim Brotherhood is to eliminate that nation.  The anti-Israeli group Hamas is political arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in Gaza.

The Bible warns that Jerusalem would be a focal point at the time of the end:

20 But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near. (Luke 21:20)

15 “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), 16 “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. (Matthew 24:15-17)

There is also an interesting end-time prophecy related in Jerusalem that seems to be fulfilled regularly:

3 And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it. (Zechariah 12:3)

The following suggests that Jerusalem will likely be divided:

2 For I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem;
The city shall be taken,
The houses rifled,
And the women ravished.
Half of the city shall go into captivity,
But the remnant of the people shall not be cut off from the city. (Zechariah 14:2)

News items have come out indicating the EU, as well as the current UN Secretary-General (Ban Ki-moon) want to divide Jerusalem now–the captivity will come later to fulfill Zechariah 14:2 (see Will the Anglo-Nations be Divided?).

At first, this is what the Palestinians and others (like the Muslim Brotherhood) will accept–a divided Jerusalem–but that is not the end goal of the King of the South (though he, even if he gets Jerusalem without European control, will really only have it a short time).

One of the leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood may well become the King of the South that the Bible foretells (Daniel 11:40).

Many events are aligning with the COG understanding of prophecy. More will as well.

Watch (Mark 13:37).
