Anti-Wall Street demonstrators said Saturday they are growing out of their lower Manhattan encampment and are exploring options to expand to other public spaces in New York City.

Protesters complaining about what they view as corporate greed have been camped out near Wall Street in Zuccotti Park for three weeks, staging rallies and marches that have mostly proceeded peacefully but have also resulted in confrontations with police.

As far as other cities go, yesterday, USA Today also listed links to protests in the following USA cities:

There even were one or two cities in Canada that are expected to have had similar protests soon:

Businesses shrug off fears of violent Cdn. Occupy protests

‎CTV.ca
Toronto and Vancouver businesses are optimistic about the crowds expected in their downtown cores when the Occupy Wall Street movement hits Canada. Some businesses destroyed and looted during previous riots say they will keep their doors open when the protests begin on Oct. 15.

I have been writing for a long time that civil unrest and riots will happen in the USA and the other Anglo-descended lands.  And as I reported last month, the mayor of NYC warned about this for his city as well (NY Mayor Warns of Riots in the Streets).  Some consider this “Occupy” movement simply a political protest, a new “Tea Party,” except for the Left instead of the Right.  I suspect that ultimately it will turn violent and the USA and other lands will face riots and civil unrest, and the politicians and pundits who have seemed to support this will later have regrets.

US President Barack Obama, presuming that he is re-elected, will likely live to regret the fact that he seems to be encouraging protests (or at least has not really spoken out against them at this stage).  Back in February 2011, he also encouraged the protesters in Wisconsin (see ICG: Is Barack Obama Encouraging Protests?).  Back on February 19, 2011, I wrote that encouraging protesters could come back to haunt Barack Obama later down the road.  And not only do I believe that, I believe that ultimately protesters will become increasingly violent as protests will at some point turn to riots and civil unrest.

While I am not trying to say that protesters do not have any point, the reality is that producing more goods and services, from a carnal perspective, is economically what the USA needs.  Protests generally speaking, do not do that.

National repentance is the only real long-term hope for the USA (and it seems to be too late for that), the political leadership in the USA has largely ignored that approach. The carnal “solutions” offered and agreed to by both political parties in the USA will not get it back on track economically. Its economy may appear to do better for a while, but in the long run, the USA does not have real solutions to its economic woes. There are carnal solutions that the USA could do now (mainly related to energy production and tariffs) that could help extend the situation, but too many of its leaders have rejected God and have the type of “reprobate mind” that prevents them from seeing even those “convenient” options (cf. Romans 1:18-32, KJV). The debate I have heard from some politicians and pundits on the USA economy strongly suggests to me, at least, that many do not understand production, economics, job-creation, nor the Bible.

Few seem to tie the national legalization of abortions in the U.S.A. in 1973, the increased legalizations of homosexual marriages (e.g. NY Approves ‘Homosexual Marriage’ Law, but Does Not See the Handwriting on the Wall), and the Obama Administration’s decision to want to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act (see Obama Announces He Wants to Repeal Defense of Marriage Act and Increase Debt) as important factors in what is happening. But all of those, as well as the promotion of violence in the U.S.A. (including certain sports), as well as other sins, are factors behind what is happening.

Jesus foretold troubles as part of the beginning of sorrows:

8 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines and troubles. These are the beginnings of sorrows. (Mark 13:8)

3 When He opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, “Come and see.” 4 Another horse, fiery red, went out. And it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth, and that people should kill one another; and there was given to him a great sword. (Revelation 6:3-4)

But an even worse hour of trial is coming first (Revelation 3:10; Jeremiah 30:7).

As Jesus said:

37 And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch! (Mark 13:36-37)

Tougher times are coming. And for some parts of the world these tougher time may be here now. People who can prepare, should: both spiritually and physically. Westerners need to realize that this will not only affect people in places like Africa, Asia, and the Middle East–the Anglo-descended nations of the West will themselves suffer hunger, civil unrest, famine, and worse. Of course, between the recent London riots in the UK (Ephraim) and earlier “flashmobs” in the USA (Manasseh), and even these “Occupy” protests (even in Canada, Ephraim), to a degree, this unrest has began.

And speaking of the Anglo-descended nations, in a recent co-worker letter, Dr. Roderick C. Meredith of the Living Church of God wrote:

So it seems that the “beginning of sorrows” has certainly been escalating in Ephraim and Manasseh! Maybe it will help some few people to actually “wake up”! (Meredith RC. LCG Co-worker letter, August 15, 2011)

The sorrows and troubles are just beginning and will get much worse. Hopefully, people will wake up.
