The condemned leader of the Muslim Brotherhood claims the massive death penalty rulings from judges in support of Egypt’s interim government will result in its collapse and ouster:

April 29, 2014

(Reuters) – The senior leader of Egypt’s outlawed Muslim Brotherhood said on Tuesday that the mass death sentences against him and other members will cause the government’s downfall.

“This ruling is the last nail in the coffin of the ruling powers that led the coup,” said Brotherhood general guide Mohamed Badie, who was condemned to death along with 682 supporters on Monday. “The regime is on the brink of collapse.”

The defendants were charged with crimes including inciting violence following the army overthrow of elected leader Mohamed Mursi, a senior Brotherhood member, last July after mass protests against his rule.

Security forces have mounted a tough crackdown on the Brotherhood since Mursi’s fall, killing hundreds of its supporters, arresting thousands and putting leaders on trial.

The Brotherhood says it is committed to peaceful resistance to the army-backed government. The death sentence against Badie, 70, is likely to fuel growing concerns that young members of the movement could resort to violence against the state.  http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/04/29/us-egypt-brotherhood-un-idUSBREA3S0IF20140429

Since the fall of Egypt’s President Morsi, I have stated that the time will come when a unifying claimed Islamic power will rise up again in Egypt.

The court announcements yesterday (see CNN: ‘Egypt court sentences hundreds of Muslim Brotherhood supporters to death’) as well as last month, for hundreds with ties to the Muslim Brotherhood to be condemned to death (see VOA: Egypt Sentences 529 Morsi Supporters to Death!) will have ramifications.  We will see how many the interim government in Egypt actually will kill.  The massive death penalty verdicts have been widely condemned internationally.

As far as the Muslim Brotherhood being peaceful that does not seem to hold to Israel.  At least not with Mohammed Badie.  He is very hostile to Israel and also says that the USA is doomed:

In a weekly sermon, titled “How Islam Confronts the Oppression and Tyranny [against the Muslims],” Mohammed Badie accused the Arab and Muslim regimes of avoiding confrontation with “the Zionist entity” and the United States, and also of disregarding “Allah’s commandment to wage jihad for His sake with [their] money and [their] lives, so that Allah’s word will reign supreme and the infidels’ word will be inferior.” Badie stated that the U.S. is immoral and doomed to collapse. He accused the Palestinian Authority of “selling out” the Palestinian cause, adding that a third intifada was about to erupt. Badie also stated that “Resistance is the only solution against the Zio-American arrogance and tyranny, and all we need is for the Arab and Muslim peoples to stand behind it and support it.”

In July 2012, during his weekly sermon, Mohammed Badie stated that Israelis are “rapists” of Jerusalem, and called on all Muslims to “wage jihad with their money and their selves to free al-Quds.” He described the creation of Israel in international law as an “alleged, illusory right.”

In October 2012, Badie alleged that “The Jews have dominated the land, spread corruption on earth, spilled the blood of believers and in their actions profaned holy places, including their own.” As such, he demanded that the Arab world reject negotiations with Israel in favor of “holy Jihad,” saying that “the Zionists only understand force” and while alleging that allowing Jews to pray on the Temple Mount, Judaism’s holiest site, would result in the destruction of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Badei denounced peace efforts with Israel, urging holy war against Israel, on 22 November 2012—just a day after Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi succeeded in brokering a truce to end eight days of Israel-Hamas fighting. Badei says “jihad is obligatory” for Muslims and that peace deals with Israel are a “game of grand deception.” He says there’s been enough negotiations, the “enemy knows nothing but language of force.” (Mohammed Badie.  Wikipedia, viewed 04/29/14)

It is true that the USA will be gone (cf. Daniel 11:39), and Psalm 83 indicates that this will have Arab involvement.  And as the above shows, the Muslim Brotherhood wants the nation of Israel gone.  It also wants all the lands ever dominated by Muslims to unite and form a confederation.  Although the Muslim Brotherhood tends to state that it prefers a non-violent approach, it has shown a willingness to tolerate and/or promote violence at times.

As I have reported here many times, the Bible itself tells of a time when Egypt will be part of a major confederation of Arab and Turkish peoples (Daniel 11:40-43; Ezekiel 30:1-9)–the leader of which is called the King of the South.  But the Bible also says that that confederation will be defeated by a European power called the King of the North (Daniel 11:40-43).

The Bible also warns of violence in the land of Egypt, like a type of civil war (Isaiah 19:1-4).

As I have stated before, although Egypt will have issues, the reality is that a confederation will form in the areas near Egypt with a multi-national leader. Egyptian involvement with the final King of the South is prophesied. Despite attempts to silence, kill, jail, etc. supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood, a king of the south similar to what the Muslim Brotherhood wants will rise up.
