The latest TW News & Prophecy from the Living Church of God has the following:

White House “Kill List” and Presidential Ethics

In a recent exposé, investigative journalists shed light on a secret weekly meeting in which the U.S. President personally decides which terrorists to target for elimination.

According to the article, “In interviews with The New York Times, three dozen of his current and former advisers described Mr. Obama’s evolution since taking on the role, without precedent in presidential history, of personally overseeing the shadow war with Al Qaeda. They describe a paradoxical leader who shunned the legislative deal-making required to close the detention facility at Guantánamo Bay in Cuba, but approves lethal action without hand-wringing” (New York Times, May 29, 2012).

Ironically and sadly, the President’s Counterterrorism Chief and lead advisor in issuing these lethal strikes has been described as a man of “genuine moral rectitude… It’s as though you had a priest with extremely strong moral values who was suddenly charged with leading a war” (ibid.).

Former and current administration leaders note that the lethal policies are designed to avoid problems associated with capturing and then detaining high-profile targets. The president’s initial view of “…the Bush administration’s ‘false choice between our safety and our ideals'” has obviously changed during his administration (ibid.).

Long ago, God clearly stated that murder for any reason is wrong (Exodus 20:13) and He warned of grievous consequences for those breaking this and other commandments (see Leviticus 26 and Deuteronomy 28). God also warned of a time when the Israelite-descended nations would no longer be ashamed when they commit abominations (Jeremiah 8:12).

When “civilized” leaders view killing as a “necessary ethical option,” this does suggest that society is reaching “the latter time… when the transgressors have reached their fullness” spoken of by the prophet Daniel (Daniel 8:23). Thankfully, God’s plan will bring this kind of ungodly activity to an end.

President Obama’s Kill List

Mr. Obama has placed himself “at the helm of a top-secret ‘nominations’ process to designate terrorists for kill or capture, for which the capture part has become largely theoretical.” He “signs off on every [drone] strike in Yemen and Somalia and also on the more complex and risky strikes in Pakistan — about a third of the total.”

Various leaders, many of whom secular history has denounced, had their equivalent of “kill lists.”  Sadly, the President Barack Obama seems to enjoy this from other reports I have seen.   This is not to say that his Mormon challenger Mitt Romney will not have his own issues, but this seems to be another ethical problem for Barack Obama.

Although we in the Living Church of God do not vote in presidential elections and will not endorse any political candidate, because of his stance on homosexuality, debt, and other issues, US President Barack Obama and/or his Administration have fulfilled at least eleven predictions in my book 2012 and the Rise of the Secret Sect.

The political leadership of the USA, irrespective of who wins the presidential election this year, will ultimately end up fulfilling other predictions in 2012 and the Rise of the Secret Sect as well.  Including getting the USA to the point that it will be taken over and be no more.

Because Turkey is a NATO ally, the attack against one of its military aircraft has potential NATO ramifications for Syria:

The West has already indicated a willingness and desire to change the regime in Syria and this will possibly (as the Turkish military jet seems to have been in Syrian airspace) give NATO members (like the USA) “justification” for military intervention.

With Turkey being in the news, WND also posted about a new, and somewhat prophetically inaccurate book, by Joel Richardson.  Here is a report about that:

Joel Richardson, the author of the new “Mideast Beast,” says the assumption about the Battle of Magog and Gog, revealed in biblical prophecy in Ezekiel 38 and 39, should be corrected so people understand.

In a commentary in WND today, Richardson explains that the assumption that the biblical reference to Magog would indicate Russia was developed some 100 years ago, and has been taught and discussed ever since.

In reality, however, it more likely is Turkey, he said…Richardson’s book follows his earlier hit, “The Islamic Antichrist,” a book that has changed the eschatological views of many evangelical Christians since its release two years ago.  http://www.wnd.com/2012/06/why-russia-will-never-invade-israel/

It is sad that any of his inaccurate books are selling well.  Turkey is biblical Edom, not Gog or Magog.  Details about Turkey in prophecy are found in the article The Arab and Islamic World In the Bible, History, and Prophecy.

The identities of Gog and Magog are discussed in the articles Russia: Its Origins and Prophesied Future and Asia in Prophecy. Gog basically represents the land of Russia (plus some peripheral lands) as part of Magog, while Magog is mainly the land of Asia.  They are not basically Turkey (though many Turks do live in Asia).

While Turkey is in the news, prophecy watchers need to pay more heed to what the Bible and the lessons of history teach, as opposed to popular authors like Joel Richardson.

The Savior of Europe?

There are reports of a formulating plan that would take a giant step towards European federal integration—a plan that would take away the fiscal sovereignty of the EU nations and invest it in a central bureaucratic body. The financial weakness of several Eurozone states could force them to accept this dominant power, the creation of which is supported by Germany.

Stratfor analyst George Friedman recently reported: “According to a report in German magazine Der Spiegel, European Central Bank President Mario Draghi, Eurogroup President Jean-Claude Juncker, European Council President Herman Van Rompuy and European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso are drafting a plan to stabilize the system. Under the purported plan, all eurozone members would be required to balance their budgets. Borrowing would be permitted only if approved by a Europe-wide finance minister… If all of Europe is going to be responsible for sovereign debt issued by member countries, then the stakeholders who have the most invested in the European project must have control over borrowing… If the right to borrow is transferred from national governments to unelected functionaries appointed by a multinational entity, a profound transformation of democracy in Europe will take place” (June 12, 2012).

The problem in the past—and now—is that the various peoples the Eurozone still see themselves first as Greek, French or Spanish, according to their nationality, and as Europeans in only a secondary sense. As a result, they do not want to subordinate their national sovereignty to a central European body. What will it take to get them to come together as a federal European state?

Cato Institute fellow Gerald Driscoll, in a recent Wall Street Journal opinion piece, wrote: “If Europe had made a political decision for a federal state, a single currency would have been a natural outcome. When 17 states decided to adopt the euro first without political union, they got it backward” (“How the Euro Will End,” June 13, 2012, p. A15).

The European leadership is using the current crisis of the euro to form the federal state that probably would not have been achievable at the outset. Can they go back to their old national currencies without economic disaster? Many think that the Eurozone has passed the point of no return and must go forward. But how? What can pull the Europeans together?

Everyone in the Eurozone is now stuck with dealing with the consequences of having “a currency without a country… The euro zone is in a crisis, in the correct sense of the word, a turning point from which it will recover or enter a terminal phase. One important factor that may determine the outcome is the degree of leadership in Europe” (ibid.).

This leadership can come from either a man or an institution—or both.

“The concept of extended integration can work, but not without the passion that moves a Greek or a German to protect his and his country’s interest. Without that, the glue that holds nations together is missing in the European Union. The greater the integration, the more this will reveal itself” (Friedman, op. cit.).

Pope John Paul II said that the true gluethat holds Europe together is the Roman Catholic Church: “The history of the formation of the European Nations keeps abreast with their evangelization. Consequently, despite the spiritual crises that have marked the life of the Continent in our day, its identity would be incomprehensible without Christianity. For this very reason, the Church has made many contributions in recent years to the consolidation of Europe’s cultural and spiritual unity… Only a Europe that does not eliminate but rediscovers its Christian roots, will be able to take up the challenges of the third millennium… All believers in Christ of the European West and East are required to make their own contribution through open and sincere ecumenical cooperation” (John Paul II, REGINA CÆLI, May 2, 2004).

There will be more of a split between the Church of Rome and the USA in the future, while a revised version of the Church of Rome will get much more influence in Europe.  And that will end up in the destruction of the USA, the other Anglo-powers, the soon coming Islamic confederation, etc.

Tokyo has only to strike out controversial phrase

The world has long regarded Japan as a virtual nuclear power. On Wednesday, Tokyo took its first step toward becoming a “real” one.

The upper house of Japan’s Diet passed an amendment to the country’s Atomic Energy Basic Law to allow the use of nuclear power for “national security,” according to the Tokyo Shimbun. The addition of these controversial words was made so furtively that not only the Japanese public but even many Lower House lawmakers didn’t know about it, other reports say.

Despite denials from the Japanese government, there should be little doubt about Tokyo’s intention ― nuclear armament. The stealthy way the Japanese parliament handled the matter proves it. http://www.koreatimes.co.kr/www/news/opinon/2012/06/202_113619.html

Japan has rewritten the basic law on atomic energy to include “national security” among its goals, fueling concerns over the possibility of using nuclear power for military purposes.The first amendment in 34 years of the Atomic Energy Basic Act, a regulatory and institutional roadmap for its nuclear activities, invited criticism from Japan’s anti-nuclear scientists and civic activists. http://view.koreaherald.com/kh/view.php?ud=20120621001215&cpv=0

The nuclear potential of Japan is of major concern to South Korea and seems to be getting a lot of press coverage there.  Wikipedia notes, “In 1910, Korea was invaded by Japan and remained occupied until the end of World War II in August 1945.” The Koreans have not forgotten this.

But the reality is that Japan, China, and Korea (likely both what is now North and South) will cooperate together militarily for a while as they are all likely part of the prophesied “kings of the sunrise” *Revelation 16:12, literal translation) of Bible prophecy.  Japanese military technology may assist this confederation greatly in the future, for a short time.

Furthermore, Turkey is claiming that Syria shot down one of its military aircraft:

Turkish F-4 warplane ‘shot down’ near Syrian border

BBC News – ‎22 June 2012 Turkey has said it believes that one of its fighter jets has been shot down by Syrian security forces. The F-4 Phantom disappeared over the Mediterranean, south-west of Hatay province, not far from Syria’s coast.

Syria will change, now or later.   Much is going on in the Middle East. The King of the South will rise up (Daniel 11:40), it will not be Iran, and thus Syria (directly or indirectly) is likely to play a role in that occurrence. Syria will end up being a supporter of that king–thus the situation in Syria must change (Turkey is likely to temporarily support the King of the South, but will apparently turn against it (per Daniel 11)–for details see The Islamic and Arab World In the Bible, History, and Prophecy).

And Turkey is starting to seem more determined to assist in some of the changes that will occur in Syria.

The Bible shows that Syria’s capital city Damascus will be destroyed:

7 thus says the Lord God: “It shall not stand, Nor shall it come to pass. 8 For the head of Syria is Damascus (Isaiah 7:7-8)

3 Thus says the Lord: “For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not turn away its punishment, Because they have threshed Gilead with implements of iron. (Amos 1:3)

1 The burden against Damascus. “Behold, Damascus will cease from being a city, And it will be a ruinous heap. (Isaiah 17:1)

Whether this destruction will happen because of what is now considered by some to be an internal civil war or an attack involving Israel and/or the USA and/or Turkey remains to be seen. And both could happen (and Israel would seem to be involved if Amos 1:3 is also applicable for the end time–Isaiah 17:1 most definitely is a future prophecy as it has not been fulfilled since written).

If the USA and/or Israel get involved in a regional conflict with Iran and/or Syria one or both may find that the cost of  intervention greatly exceeds what either currently thinks as Syria is likely to use any weapons at it disposal, including chemical ones.

As Jesus said in Mark 13:37, we all should watch.

The Destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah

Sodom, most known for being destroyed for its sexual immorality including homosexuality (Genesis 19:1-13), may have been where the oldest stone calendar was made:

Some believe Tall el-Hammam, the remains of that fortified city, could be the site of biblical Sodom…

“The early Bronze Age, 3200 to 2200 B.C., was a period of large-scale urban expansion. At the same time and locations, the construction of dolmans and other megalithic structures blossomed,” pointed out Maltsberger, associate professor for biblical studies and archaeology at BUA.

“We also know from inscriptions that Israel was using a lunar calendar by 10th century B.C., but no one has found physical evidence of how they devised this calendar. Because calendars are mentioned throughout the Hebrew scriptures, it would make sense that various ones would be found in the area near Sodom.  Such as the lands currently occupied by the Jews, the Palestinians, and the Jordanians.

Norway’s admitted mass murderer, Anders Behring Breivik, again made unjustifiable statements towards the end of his trial:

The trial of Anders Behring Breivik has ended in Norway with a walkout by families of victims in protest at his attempts to justify the massacre.

As he took the stand to explain why he killed 77 people last July, some 30 people filed out of the courtroom.

Saying he had acted to stop a Muslim invasion, he asked to be considered sane and to be acquitted…Breivik, 33, admits killing 77 people and injuring 242 on 22 July when he bombed government buildings in Oslo before shooting young Labour Party supporters at a camp on the island of Utoeya.  http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-18547347

Not only did he not kill Muslims, even if they were the only ones he killed, they have a right to life as well. He has no right to kill Muslims, Muslim supporters, Muslim sympathizers, or anyone else.  Anders Behring Breivik should also realize that killing children (which was a lot of what he did) was also unjustifiable.

It is sad that some misunderstand morality and kill in the name of religion or politics. What he did was evil, yet he wants positive credit for his evil. Such people were foretold in scripture:

20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness;
Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes,
And prudent in their own sight!

22 Woe to men mighty at drinking wine,
Woe to men valiant for mixing intoxicating drink,
23 Who justify the wicked for a bribe,
And take away justice from the righteous man!

24 Therefore, as the fire devours the stubble,
And the flame consumes the chaff,
So their root will be as rottenness,
And their blossom will ascend like dust;
Because they have rejected the law of the Lord of hosts,
And despised the word of the Holy One of Israel. (Isaiah 5:20-24)

Notice also some of what Jesus said:

2 They will put you out of the synagogues; yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service. 3 And these things they will do to you because they have not known the Father nor Me. (John 16:2-3)

I do not believe that Anders Behring Breivik was doing God or Norway a service–what he did was evil. After Jesus returns, there will be an end to all this type of suffering:

3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. 4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away. (Revelation 21:3-4)

God’s Kingdom will change this world.

Currently Anders Behring Breivik still needs to apologize and repent.

US Stock Market Falls Off a Cliff

The Dow plunged on Thursday, posting its second worst day of 2012 — and traders say it’s due to a slew of ‘horrible’ news…The Dow started sinking after the Philadelphia branch of the Federal Reserve reported a manufacturing slowdown resulting from a steep drop in companies’ orders. Then the losses just accelerated…All this unfolded a day after the Federal Reserve slashed its estimates for U.S. economic growth and said it would extend a bond-buying program through the end of the year. Moody’s cuts credit ratings on 15 major banks

Los Angeles Times – ‎21 June 2012

Moody’s Investors Service lowered the credit ratings of 15 the world’s largest banks late Thursday, including Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase and Goldman Sachs, saying their long-term prospects for profitability and growth are shrinking…The downgrades mean Moody’s is more concerned about the ability of the banks to repay their debts.  http://www.latimes.com/news/la-fiw-moodys-downgrade-06212012,0,1235973.story

Moody’s has been slower to cut credit ratings than I would think is prudent, but finally they are doing more of that.

It seemed to me yesterday that the USA ‘s stock market might drop today based upon the fact that the Federal Reserve has somewhat artificially supported the USA stock market and that the actions it announced yesterday did not have the type of support (read increase of the money supply, decrease on the value of the USA dollar in the long run) that the stock market hoped for.  There was also a nationally-syndicated article in the local newspaper hinting that stocks might drop and perhaps that was also a factor (as well as other news items that were reported today).

The Bible warns that the pride of power will be broken (Leviticus 26:19), and for the USA this apparently is not only referring to its military might, but its economic pride.  Now as I have been saying, the USA dollar will NOT totally collapse (become worth a small fraction of its purchasing value) until shortly before the start of the Great Tribulation (Jeremiah 30:7; Matthew 24:21).

The USA expects to end 2012 with a debt near over $16 trillion dollars. That is roughly $52,000 per citizen, $145,000 per taxpayer. And if you include all other future obligations, it is much, much worse.

The USA is the most indebted nation of all time and the UK is one of the most indebted per capita.   Yet the politicians (in the USA and UK) and the Federal Reserve seem to be on a course to continue to increase the debt and money-supply (essentially an under-hand way of increasing debt without counting it so much).

Notice the following prophecic warning from the Bible:

3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry…5 Indeed, because he transgresses by wine, He is a proud man… 6 “Will not all these take up a proverb against him, And a taunting riddle against him, and say, ‘Woe to him who increases What is not his–how long? And to him who loads himself with many pledges’? 7 Will not your creditors rise up suddenly? Will they not awaken who oppress you? And you will become their booty. 8 Because you have plundered many nations, All the remnant of the people shall plunder you (Habakkuk 2:3,5,6-8).

According to Bible prophecy, the end of the Anglo-dominance of the world is coming, and the final age of the Gentiles will be here in a relatively few years. The debt and other financial issues in the USA are indicators that not too many more years are left before the start of the Great Tribulation.

It is not the rest of the world will not have their own issues, it just is that since they generally have not quite followed the USA, UK and others into the debt creation machine to the same degree, they completely will fall apart later than the USA and UK does.

CERN’s progress with its Large Hadron Collider (LHC) made the news again:

Physicists working at the Large Hadron Collider on the border of France and Switzerland may be on the verge of announcing the discovery of the long-sought Higgs boson, the so-called God particle that theorists believe gives all other particles mass. Physics bloggers are atwitter — figuratively and literally — with speculation that the discovery will be announced at the upcoming International Conference on High Energy Physics to be held in Melbourne, Australia, beginning July 4. Notice, that if this is true, that the biggest scientific feats/discoveries in half a century is coming from a European, not USA, project.

CERN is the European Organization for Nuclear Research.  And it keeps coming up with more and more scientific discoveries (see CERN’s Large Hadron Collider Particles Faster than the Speed of Light?, CERN Announces Progress, But Prohibits Its Scientists From Making Public Conclusions, and CERN Makes Major Strides with Antimatter), which while assisting the scientific community, mainly will be of benefit to the Europeans.

The Germans are also working on their own particle accelerator called FAIR (see Germany Approves FAIR Particle Accelerator Project), which, along with the LHC, seems to be putting them and the other Europeans ahead of the USA in such developments.

I believe that Germany’s FAIR, along with the LHC, will help the Europeans produce military weaponry to fulfill certain end time prophecies (e.g. Revelation 13:4)–since Revelation 13:4 is discussing what seems to be a unique type of warfare, this warfare likely includes certain high-tech weapons that will be effective for a while (ultimately the Europeans will be overcome but what appears to be a Russian-led, mainly Asian, confederation, cf. Jeremiah 50:41-43 & Daniel 11:44, possibly by exploiting some technological flaw, like creating a software virus, etc., while also amassing troops, etc.).  The FAIR and the LHC projects are also likely to spin-off economic benefits that may help propel Europe to be (for a short while) the economic leader of the world (cf. Revelation 18).

My book 2012 and the Rise of the Secret Sect long has pointed out that CERN’s Large Hadron Collider may be used to give the future European military power that the entire world will marvel at:

My book also discusses the destruction of the USA and certain others by the Europeans sometime after 2012. The Large Hadron Collider is discussed as one of the items that may provide the Europeans with the ability to overcome the USA’s military might. And while many think that this would be impossible, as the Europeans continue to uncover previously unattainable aspects of physics, it is getting more and more technology that could be developed in that direction. 

The understanding of the Living Church of God that the Europeans, essentially under Germanic leadership, will be able to attack and takeover the United States and its Anglo-descended allies (cf. Isaiah 10:5-11; Daniel 11:39; Zechariah 10:6-11) is correct and will come to pass. And it appears, to me at least, possible that CERN’s history of successes is consistent with biblical prophecies.

‘The US Is Hypocritical when It Lectures Europe’

Financial daily Handelsblatt writes:

“It is rather hypocritical when the Americans and the British, whose own mountains of debt have reached a high point, try to lecture the Europeans. One number is sufficient to reveal what a bad tactic this is. At a time when the budget deficits of the US and Great Britain are about 8 percent, the euro-zone members have almost managed to bring their deficits as a whole down to 3 percent.

The center-left Süddeutsche Zeitung writes:

“The euro crisis, which has a large destructive potential for the world economy, was reduced to a hiccup-sized problem in the summit declaration — for one simple reason: When it comes to economics alone, the Americans, the Chinese, the Japanese and the Brazilians are all mired in their own problems. This creates a situation in which one country is always the sinner and the others only get a mild rebuke for their own misdeeds.”

The center-right Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung writes:

“Despite a lot of dramatic words, the G-20 countries have for the time being postponed the rescue of the global economy. A few days before the next EU summit, the group of industrialized countries and developing nations have to powerlessly wait for what the Europeans will come up with now to save the euro.”

Defense ministers from six European nations have agreed to be represented in Brussels with one voice, Austrian Defense Minister Norbert Darabos said on Tuesday.The agreement was made in Frauenkirchen, Austria during talks on military cooperation attended by ministers from Hungary, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Slovakia and Austria, Xinhua news agency reported.”We have come to agreement in all areas.
