A powerful earthquake hit off of northern New Zealand today (actually July 7th in New Zealand):

A tsunami warning was issued for eastern coastal areas of the North Island, including the country’s main city Auckland, with the first surge expected just before 9 am local time (2100 GMT)

The impact of this earthquake and related tsunami are currently unclear. Other reports have claimed it was a 7.9 or 7.7 quake.

Jesus, of course, warned about a time with such issues:

8 … And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be…troubles. These are the beginnings of sorrows. (Mark 13:8)

We may be at this prophetic point as all the earthquakes and other problems that have happened in the past year could be considered as “troubles”.
