Thousands across the Bay Area — and more around the country — took time Saturday to protest President Donald Trump and Republican efforts to redistrict Texas.

While the Texas redistricting advocates and protesters claim this is about democracy, the truth is that it is really all about political power.
What has been happening, of course, is not unexpected. In my book, Unintended Consequences and Donald Trump’s Presidency: Is Donald Trump Fulfilling Biblical, Islamic, Greco-Roman Catholic, Buddhist, and other America-Related Prophecies?, I have the following:
Expect more protests against Donald Trump. (p. 15)
As the 47th President, Donald Trump plans to deport all those not legally in the USA, though many do not think he can actually succeed in that (Rahman K. Donald Trump’s Deportation Plan Faces Rebellion from Democratic Governors. Newsweek, November 7, 2024). Trying that is expected to cause civil unrest and probably riots. (p. 20)
There are issues with what Donald Trump says when he speaks. I expect protests. (p. 44)
Donald Trump has been a polarizing figure and has offended many including minorities, migrants, and Muslims. Expect civil unrest and rioting. (p. 89)
Donald Trump is setting the USA up for punishment (Isaiah 30:12-13; Romans 1:18-32) that has and will include troubles, violence, (pp. 89-90)
Notice a generational warning from two books of the Bible:
11 There is a generation that curses its father,
And does not bless its mother.
12 There is a generation that is pure in its own eyes,
Yet is not washed from its filthiness.
13 There is a generation — oh, how lofty are their eyes!
And their eyelids are lifted up.
14 There is a generation whose teeth are like swords,
And whose fangs are like knives, (Proverbs 30:11-14)5 “They have corrupted themselves;
They are … A perverse and crooked generation. (Deuteronomy 32:5)
Yes, we a seeing a generation like that.
Of course, it is not just some associated with the protests.
Notice that God inspired Isaiah to write:
8 Now go, write it before them on a tablet,
And note it on a scroll,
That it may be for time to come,
Forever and ever:
9 That this is a rebellious people,
Lying children,
Children who will not hear the law of the Lord;
10 Who say to the seers, “Do not see,”
And to the prophets, “Do not prophesy to us right things;
Speak to us smooth things, prophesy deceits.
11 Get out of the way,
Turn aside from the path,
Cause the Holy One of Israel
To cease from before us.”12 Therefore thus says the Holy One of Israel:
“Because you despise this word,
And trust in oppression and perversity,
And rely on them,
13 Therefore this iniquity shall be to you
Like a breach ready to fall,
A bulge in a high wall,
Whose breaking comes suddenly, in an instant. (Isaiah 30:8-13)
The above is applicable to much of the USA.
More and more are despising the word of God and trusting in perversity.
The USA needs national repentance–without it, it is doomed–and it will end fairly soon (cf. Daniel 11:39).
None of the protesters nor redistricters has called for true national repentance–what they really want is to increase political control of one party over the other.
Many will say that the US has been promoting sin and increasing debt for decades, without problems, thus since it has the strongest military, etc., nothing will change.
Consider the following scriptures:
11 Because the sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil. 12 Though a sinner does evil a hundred times, and his days are prolonged, yet I surely know that it will be well with those who fear God, who fear before Him. 13 But it will not be well with the wicked; nor will he prolong his days, which are as a shadow, because he does not fear before God. (Ecclesiastes 8:11-13)
Yes, we are seeing increases in evil. The LGBTQ+ movement, which trusts in perversity, comes directly to mind.
Jesus said:
8 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines and troubles. These are the beginnings of sorrows. …
28 “Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender, and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. 29 So you also, when you see these things happening, know that it is near — at the doors! 30 Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. (Mark 13:8, 28-30)
We are in a time of troubles and sorrows as Jesus prophesied.
It is the final generation of this age that experiences the beginning of sorrows and the ride of the four horsemen (and the opening of the first four seals).
National repentance is what the USA needs.
But since that is not likely, nor what the protesters or the Trump Administration are calling for, it will fall.
The USA does not need protests or troops in the street. The USA needs the return of Jesus and the Kingdom of God.
