Pope Francis admits Syrian refugees are a terrorist threat and pushes his view of Europe

COGwriter

Pope Francis admitted that the Syrian refugees pose a terrorist threat, while he also made various statements about Europe:

Pope warns refugees bring ISIS threat

‘There is a danger of infiltration, this is true’

September 15, 2015

Pope Francis sent out a chilling warning to the world about the realities of the refugee situation, suggesting members and sympathizers of the terror group, ISIS, could very well be hidden among the thousands fleeing war in Syria.

“The truth is that just [250 miles] from Sicily there is an incredibly cruel terrorist group,” Francis said to the Portuguese Radio Renascenca. “So there is a danger of infiltration, this is true.”

ISIS has issued death threats against those in Rome and vowed to raise the group’s signature black flag above St. Peter’s Basilica. The terrorists have also set their sights on Christians, labeling them “infidels” and killing thousands in recent months.

Pope Francis agreed the Vatican is a possible ISIS target. But he also said other nations should not be frightened by ISIS into halting access to refugees.

“Yes, nobody said Rome would be immune to this threat,” he said, the New York Post reported. “But you can take precautions.” http://www.wnd.com/2015/09/pope-warns-refugees-bring-isis-threat/#FEhlTj5x9WOtBMSP.99

Grandmother Europe

Francis observed that the birthrate is very low in many countries such as Italy, Portugal and Spain. “When there is an empty space, people seek to fill it. If a country has no children, migrants come to occupy that space. … Not wanting children is, in part – and this is my interpretation, I don’t know if it is correct – it is linked to the culture of comfort, isn’t it?” He also lamented that then the elderly “are left alone.”

“I think that the great challenge facing Europe is to become once again Mother Europe, rather than Grandmother Europe,” he said. While noting he does not reproach Europe for having made mistakes, he did urge it to recover its Christian roots and stressed it is never too late to change. …

Fatima

In his response to a question regarding an eventual visit to Portugal to commemorate the centenary of the apparitions of the Virgin at Fatima, Francis expressed, “I said I want to go, I’d like to go. It is easier to get to Portugal, we can go and return on the same day or, at the most, go for a day and half or two days. To go and see the Blessed Virgin.” (Lubov B. Pope in Interview With Portuguese Radio Speaks on Migrants, Annulments, ‘Grandmother Europe’. Zenit, September 14, 2015)

September 14, 2015

Pope Francis:  … Europe has to take on it’s role: that is, to recover her identity. It’s true that Europe went wrong. I’m not throwing it back in her face. I’m reminding of it: nothing more. When I wanted to speak of her identity, I didn’t recognize, perhaps, the deepest part of her identity, which are her Christian roots, right?  …

And now, with this Jubilee of Mercy, I hope that many people feel the Church a mother, because the same thing can happen to the Church as to Europe, right? To be too much of a grandmother and not a mother, right? and unable to generate life, right?  http://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/full-text-of-pope-francis-interview-with-portuguese-radio-station-44460/

So, there are a few points to comment on.

First, Pope Francis is encouraging the acceptance of Syrian refugees while acknowledging that they pose a terrorist threat.  All should realize that the threat of terrorism is real, the Bible warns about it (e.g. Leviticus 26:14-17; Deuteronomy 32:25; Ezekiel 21:12; Psalms 73:12,19; Proverbs 1:25-27; Ecclesiastes 12:5), but the Pope and others seem to wish to allow more terrorists to move into the West.

Representatives of the Islamic State have made threats against the Pope and/or Vatican in the past (see, for example, Egypt bombs Libyan stronghold for Islamic State after Copts are killed) and Rome is one of their hoped for targets.  They likely will have at least some success there.  Perhaps I should add that there are also Roman Catholic prophecies that tell of the destruction of Rome, and likely some in the Vatican take those threats seriously (see also Catholic Prophecies: Do They Mirror, Highlight, or Contradict Biblical Prophecies?).

Second, Pope Francis seems to be blaming part of the migrant problem on Europe’s low birthrate.  Of course, if Europe wanted a lot more people, it could have made arrangements with Latin America to send people.

Third, like other pontiffs in the past, Pope Francis wants Europe to renew its Catholic (which he is calling Christian) roots.  Pope Francis has also worked to get ‘full ecumenical unity’ with the Eastern Orthodox.

Fourth, Mary, the mother of Jesus, is not in Fatima Portugal, despite what Pope Francis states.

Could any of this tie in with biblical prophecy?

Yes, the Bible warns about certain developments in Europe which are consistent with the Vatican’s agenda.

In Daniel 2:31-33, Daniel reports that a great image (which is another way to look at the Beast of Revelation) has two legs, which suggests two halves or two main parts of the Beast:

31 This great image, whose splendor was excellent, stood before you; and its form was awesome. 32 This image’s head was of fine gold, its chest and arms of silver, its belly and thighs of bronze, 33 its legs of iron, its feet partly of iron and partly of clay. (Daniel 2:31-33)

Historically, the “Holy Roman Empire” has had two parts: a Western (Rome) and Eastern (Constantinople) one, with the center of power switching sometimes throughout the ages.

Essentially, the Council of Laodicea was apparently from the eastern leg (sometimes referred to presently as the Orthodox Church) of the image in Daniel 2 (vs. 33).

The late Pope John-Paul II once publicly stated that the Roman and Orthodox Churches were the two lungs of the church, which suggests that they mutually are supportive, as two legs are. Hence Pope John-Paul II has acknowledged that the Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Churches are two parts of the same body. They apparently make up the two legs and somewhat the two feet (with ten toes) of the image of the Beast warned against in Daniel 2:33.

Here is what Pope John Paul II stated:

By rediscovering the great cultural treasures of the Christian East, in a new dialogue of communion, we will also allow Christian witness to breathe at this level, with two “lungs“, making our rightful contribution to humanity’s future (Pope John Paul II. CHRISTIANITY HAS DEEPLY MARKED CULTURE OF PEOPLES. Angelus, 1 September 1996. Taken from: L’Osservatore Romano, Weekly Edition in English, 4 September 1996, “L’Osservatore Romano is the newspaper of the Holy See”. http://www.ewtn.com/library/PAPALDOC/JP960901.HTM viewed 11/16/07).

The Orthodox apparently agreed that they were and are one of the lungs as the Orthodox Metropolitan John of Pergamon stated to John Paul II:

As Your Holiness has aptly put it some years ago, East and West are the two lungs by which the Church breaths; their unity is essential to the healthy life of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church (Speeches of Pope John Paul II and Metropolitan John of Pergamon. Made in private audience following a Mass to celebrate the feast of Sts. Peter and Paul. Rome, 28 June 1998. http://www.orthodoxresearchinstitute.org/articles/ecumenical/john_pergamon_john_paul2.htm viewed 11/16/07).

Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, now former Pope Benedict XVI, interestingly wrote of Europe (the Mediterranean continent) and its two wings, Greek and Latin:

In the process of replacing boundaries, the conceptual continuity with the preceding Mediterranean continent…was assured by a theological interpretation of history: in connection with the Book of Daniel, the Roman Empire—renewed and transformed by the Christian faith—was considered to be the final and permanent kingdom in the history of the world in general, and therefore the association of peoples and states that was taking shape was defined as the permanent Sacrum Imperium Romanum [Holy Roman Empire]. (Raztinger J. Europe today and tomorrow: addressing the fundamental issues. Translated by Michael Miller. Ignatius Press, 2007, p. 13)

We can consider the rise of the Carolingian Empire, on the one hand, and the continuation of the Roman empire in Byzantium and its mission to the Slavic people, on the other, as the true and proper birth of the continent of Europe…(ibid, p. 17)

Greco-Christian, European culture of Byzantium…one of the two wings of Europe (ibid, p. 18).

Latin [that is, Western] Europe…(ibid, p. 19)

…the Christian idea of empire…the sacred foundation for history…(ibid, p. 20)

The two halves of the old Europe, before the modern era, had known essentially only one opponent that it had to confront in a life-or-death battle, namely, the Islamic world. (ibid, p. 22)

Believing Christians should…contribute to Europe’s recovery of the best of its heritiage and thus to the service of all mankind. (ibid, p. 34)

The successor to the Roman empire was the so-called “Holy Roman Empire.”  Thus, even the former Pope Benedict XVI realizes that the “Holy Roman Empire” is part of the image in Daniel 2 and that one leg/wing represents the Roman/Latin Catholic west with the other the Eastern/Greco/Byzantine east. Cardinal Ratzinger also seems to be teaching that the “Holy Roman Empire” is the last part of the image of Daniel 2 and he is suggesting that it is a good thing.

Yet, he seems not to realize that in the end, God intentionally destroys the image, by attacking the last part (striking the feet it stands upon in Daniel 2:34,44) which implies that God was not pleased with this image or its “sacred foundation.” Since the Bible is clear that God will destroy the final formation of that empire (Daniel 2:34,40-44), the development of a unified Europe to fulfill this is not something that should be encouraged. (It is also of interest that Cardinal Ratzinger pointed out Europe’s historic opponent Islam, as both biblical prophecy–like Daniel 11:40-43–and Catholic private prophecy seem to tell of a time that the Europeans will defeat the forces of Islam once again.)

It should also be noted that the Eastern Orthodox Patriarch of Constantinople Bartholomew (whose “official title” is His All Holiness, Bartholomew I, Archbishop of Constantinople, New Rome and Ecumenical Patriarch) wrote:

Today, then, it is our obligation more than ever to reclaim the Christian roots of Europe and the spiritual, sacramental and doctrinal unity that it enjoyed prior to the schism of our two Churches. The re-evangelization of our peoples is “today, more so than ever before, timely and necessary, even within traditional Christian lands,” as we admitted and confessed in common here exactly one year ago.

Thus, we believe that Western and Eastern Europe must cease regarding themselves as foreign to one another…

Elder Rome has the foremost St. Peter as its apostle and patron. New Rome, Constantinople, has the brother of St. Peter, the first-called of the apostles, Andrew. Both invite us to the fraternal unity that they shared with each other and that can only be acquired when the cross becomes our point of reference and experience of approach.

Let us, therefore, beseech these two brothers and greatest of apostles that they may grant peace to the world and lead everyone to unity. (Bartholomew I’s Letter to Vatican Delegation. Zenit. December 5, 2007 http://www.zenit.org/article-21198?l=english).

The Patriarch of Constantinople is generally considered the first among equals within the Eastern Orthodox “sees.” Even if this unity with the Romans occur, individually the Orthodox Must Reject Unity with the Roman Catholics as unifying will make them part of Babylon (according to both biblical and Roman Catholic prophecy).

Last year, Pope Francis also called on his followers to reclaim the ‘Christian roots’ of Europe:

For his mission intention, the Holy Father prays “that Europe may rediscover its Christian roots through the witness of believers.” (Unemployed Remembered in Pope’s June Prayer Intentions, Also Prays Europe Can Rediscover Its Christian Roots. Vatican City, May 30, 2014. http://www.zenit.org/en/articles/unemployed-remembered-in-pope-s-june-prayer-intentionsviewed 05/30/14)

Pope Francis keeps pushing an agenda that will not be good.

I strongly believe the Orthodox Must Reject Unity with the Roman Catholics and have had this published back in 2007 on the internet and in The Journal: News of the Churches of God. Furthermore, many ecumenical meetings and pronouncements have been coming from those groups (for documented details see Ecumenism Advancing). I also believe this is very dangerous for Protestants (for documented details, see Beware: Protestants Going Towards Ecumenical Destruction!) and Catholics as well (for documented details, please see Why Should American Catholics Fear Unity with the Orthodox?).

Despite biblical warnings, the Church of Rome wants a united Europe with an ecumenical bent:

EU Bishops call for solidarity in Europe
For the first time ever, a meeting of a national Bishops’ Conference took place in Brussels. Under the Chairmanship of Cardinal Schönborn, the Plenary Assembly of the Austrian Bishops gathered together from 5 to 8 November in the COMECE premises to deliver a clear sign of support for Europe. “Europe needs Solidarity from all quarters “ explained Cardinal Schönborn.
“As COMECE President, I am glad that such a meeting is taking place in the EU capital,” said Cardinal Marx. “It shows the Catholic Church is willing to accompany the project of European integration at all levels: the universal one, through representation of the Holy See to the EU; the European one, through activities of the permanent COMECE Secretariat in Brussels; but also at national level, through the participation of Catholic Bishops’ Conferences in the political and ethical debates on the EU. My wish therefore is that this meeting inspires other Bishops from EU Member States to follow a similar initiative.“  http://www.indcatholicnews.com/news.php?viewStory=21406

Interestingly, the Catholic saint Jerome recognized that the Prophet Daniel warned against such a Roman kingdom:

Verse 40. “And there shall be a fourth empire like unto iron. Just as iron breaks to pieces and overcomes all else, so it shall break to pieces and shatter all these preceding empires . …” Now the fourth empire, which clearly refers to the Romans, is the iron empire which breaks in pieces and overcomes all others…

While they are all included in the one Empire of the Romans, we recognize at the same time those kingdoms which were previously separate. And as for the next statement, “. . .devouring and crushing, and pounding all the rest to pieces under his feet,” this signifies that all nations have either been slain by the Romans or else have been subjected to tribute and servitude…”. . .And I saw that the beast was slain and its body perished.” In the one empire of the Romans, all the kingdoms at once are to be destroyed, because of the blasphemy of the Antichrist.

…the other beast whose name was not specified but which represented the kingdom of the Romans (Jerome. Commentary on Daniel, Chapters 2,7,12. Translated by Gleason L. Archer. (1958). http://www.tertullian.org/fathers/jerome_daniel_02_text.htm viewed 07/30/11)

The Vatican has repeatedly called for more influence in Europe and Pope Francis again is doing that.

Pope Francis, along with the United Nations and others, seems to believe that his way will result in peace.  The time will come when there is a type of ‘peace deal’ in the Middle East per Daniel 9:27. The Vatican would be expected to promote/endorse such a deal, but that deal will NOT last also according to Daniel 9:27 (see also The ‘Peace Deal’ of Daniel 9:27).

As far as ‘Mary’ and Fatima goes, there are many who believe that the ONLY way to bring real peace and prosperity to the world is to have all the Roman Catholic bishops consecrate Russia to the ‘immaculate heart of Mary.’  I am completely serious that many believe this (see also my book Fatima Shock! What the Vatican Does Not Want You to Know About Fatima, Dogmas of Mary, and Future Apparitions).  Many also believe that ‘Mary’ will be responsible for the type of ecumenical unity that the Church of Rome wants in Europe.

Yet, only the return of Jesus Christ and the millennial kingdom will ensure peace.  Pope Francis is setting the stage for terrorism and other events that will prove disastrous as the Bible shows that ruin and destruction will come to  the USA, Europe, and the Middle East and other areas before Jesus returns (Daniel 11:39-45; Ezekiel 30:2-8; see also Is the Future King of the South Rising Up?, Who is the King of the North?, and How Will Middle East Peace be Brought About?).

Appealing to the ‘Lady of Fatima’ claimed to be ‘Mary’ also will not solve humanities problems.  Actually, the Bible warns against the ‘Lady of the Kingdoms’ in Isaiah 47 and elsewhere.  Yet, Pope Francis keeps pushing an agenda that the Bible opposes.

Sadly, aspects of Pope Francis’ agenda will come to pass and it will not end well for the USA & its Anglo-Saxon allies (Daniel 11:39), the Islamic countries of the Middle East and North Africa (Daniel 11:4-43), or even Europe (Daniel 11:44).
