Russia tried to downplay its issues with NATO, but made threats to Denmark. Also its latest cruise missile is considered a threat to North America:

A Russian senior official said that Moscow is not seeking confrontation with NATO.

The Russian Interfax news agency reported Saturday that Deputy Defense Minister Anatoly Antonov made a statement to that effect at a news briefing for foreign defense attaches in Moscow, addressing the outcome of a major inspection of the Russian armed forces’ combat readiness.

“We are not seeking confrontation with the alliance, and we favor the development of cooperation,” Antonov is quoted as saying.

In an attempt to reassure the audience, Antonov also said that Russia is “not going to attack anyone.”

However, Russia’s ambassador to Denmark Mikhail Vanin commented in the newspaper Jyllands-Posten Saturday that Danish ships will become Russian targets if country joins NATO’s missile defense system.

Vanin’s statement prompted an angry response from Danish Foreign Minister Martin Lidegaard, who said that such comments were “unacceptable” and that Vanin had “crossed the line” by saying that “everyone who joins” the shield “in the future will be a target for Russian ballistic missiles.”  http://www.voanews.com/content/russia-not-seeking-confrontation-with-nato/2689659.html

Lidegaard added, however, that “it is important that the tone between” Russia and Denmark “does not escalate.”

Tensions between Denmark and Russia were ratcheted up a notch on Saturday.

Russia’s ambassador to Denmark, Mikhail Vanin, wrote in an opinion piece published by Jyllands-Posten that Denmark has made itself a target of a potential nuclear attack by joining Nato’s missile defence system.

“I don’t think the Danes fully understand the consequences of what will happen if Denmark joins the American-controlled missile defence. If it happens, Danish war ships will become targets for Russian atomic missiles,” Vanin wrote.

Denmark announced in August that it will will contribute at least one frigate to Nato’s defence system. At the time, Defence Minister Nicolai Wammen said that joining the missile defence system was not a move aimed at Russia.

“That Denmark will join the missile defence system with radar capacity on one or more of our frigates is not an action that is targeted against Russia, but rather to protect us against rogues states, terrorist organisations and others that have the capacity to fire missiles at Europe and the US,” Wammen told Jyllands-Posten in August.

Vanin’s op-ed made it clear that Russia doesn’t share that interpretation.

“Denmark will become a part of the threat against Russia. It will be less peaceful and the relationship with Russia will be harmed. It is of course your decision – I want to simply remind you that it will cost you both money and security,” Vanin wrote.

Russia is developing a long-range cruise missile that poses a new threat to the United States, the commander of the U.S. Northern Command warned this week.

“Russia is progressing toward its goal of deploying long-range, conventionally-armed cruise missiles with ever increasing stand-off launch distances on its heavy bombers, submarines, and surface combatants, augmenting the Kremlin’s toolkit of flexible deterrent options short of the nuclear threshold,” Adm. William Gortney, Northcom chief who heads the U.S.-Canadian North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) said Thursday.

“Should these trends continue, over time NORAD will face increased risk in our ability to defend North America against Russian cruise missile threats,” he said in prepared testimony to the House Armed Services subcommittee on strategic forces.

A defense official said the missile that concerns the Northcom commander is the Russian KH-101 cruise missile which Russia has developed as a weapon to attack critical infrastructure in the United States, such as the electrical grid. …

Subcommittee Chairman Rep. Mike Rogers (R., Ala.) said he is very concerned about funding shortfalls for missile defense.

“The United States of America is on its way to losing its military edge, not just in terms of the ability to project power, but to even defend the homeland,” Rogers said. “This situation is intolerable.”

Gortney, in his testimony, said: “We remain concerned with the development of conventional cruise missiles that could provide near peer adversaries with options to strike the United States without the perceived risk of retaliation of a nuclear exchange.” http://freebeacon.com/national-security/northcom-russian-cruise-missile-threat-to-u-s-grows/

Russia and NATO have been conducting exercises in the Baltics this week and both sides have declared that they were for defensive purposes only (see Russian military exercise in Baltic targetting NATO; South Ossetia enters treaty with Russia).

That being said, Denmark absolutely is at risk from Russia.  Russian training exercises, Russian aircraft matters, the situation in Ukraine, and these recent Russian statements are concerning the Danes–and they should be.

Denmark is part of the European Union. The EU is trying to revive a modern, but larger, version of the old Holy Roman Empire.

As a supporter of this Denmark can expect to receive similar ‘benefits’ and problems that most other associated with it will experience.

Because of perceived threats from Russia, along with an increase disdain for the USA, a relative weakening of the USA’s military (which is part of why I bolded a statement from US Congressman Mike Rogers above) expect to see Europe develop more military technology and ability.  In time, Europe will form the final Babylonian economic system that the Book of Revelation tells of (chapters 17-18).

While much of the world will prosper economically under that system for a while (per Revelation 18), the reality is that while it will have major military victories against the USA and its Anglo-Saxon descended allies (Daniel 11:39) and a confederation of North African/Middle East states (Daniel 11:10-43), it ultimately will be defeated militarily by a confederation from the north and east (Daniel 11:44).  A confederation that will essentially be led by Russia.

The Bible does NOT teach that there will be a major conflict in the end between the USA and Russia.  It teaches that after the European Beast power (the ‘daughter of Babylon’) rises up, that the USA will be invaded and have its lands divided per Daniel 11:39.

As far as Russia’s future threat to Europe, notice the following scriptures:

41 “Behold, a people shall come from the north, And a great nation and many kings Shall be raised up from the ends of the earth. 42 They shall hold the bow and the lance; They are cruel and shall not show mercy. Their voice shall roar like the sea; They shall ride on horses, Set in array, like a man for the battle, Against you, O daughter of Babylon.

43 “The king of Babylon has heard the report about them, And his hands grow feeble; Anguish has taken hold of him, Pangs as of a woman in childbirth.

44 “Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the floodplain of the Jordan Against the dwelling place of the strong; But I will make them suddenly run away from her.And who is a chosen man that I may appoint over her? For who is like Me? Who will arraign Me? And who is that shepherd Who will withstand Me?”

45 Therefore hear the counsel of the Lord that He has taken against Babylon, And His purposes that He has proposed against the land of the Chaldeans: Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out; Surely He will make their dwelling place desolate with them. 46 At the noise of the taking of Babylon The earth trembles, And the cry is heard among the nations. (Jeremiah 50:41-46)

24 “And I will repay Babylon And all the inhabitants of Chaldea For all the evil they have done In Zion in your sight,” says the Lord.

25 “Behold, I am against you, O destroying mountain, Who destroys all the earth,” says the Lord.”And I will stretch out My hand against you, Roll you down from the rocks, And make you a burnt mountain. 26 They shall not take from you a stone for a corner Nor a stone for a foundation, But you shall be desolate forever,” says the Lord.

27 Set up a banner in the land, Blow the trumpet among the nations! Prepare the nations against her, Call the kingdoms together against her: Ararat, Minni, and Ashkenaz. Appoint a general against her;Cause the horses to come up like the bristling locusts. 28 Prepare against her the nations, With the kings of the Medes, Its governors and all its rulers,All the land of his dominion. 29 And the land will tremble and sorrow; For every purpose of the Lord shall be performed against Babylon, To make the land of Babylon a desolation without inhabitant. 30 The mighty men of Babylon have ceased fighting, They have remained in their strongholds; Their might has failed, They became like women; They have burned her dwelling places, The bars of her gate are broken. 31 One runner will run to meet another, And one messenger to meet another, To show the king of Babylon that his city is taken on all sides; 32 The passages are blocked, The reeds they have burned with fire, And the men of war are terrified.

33 For thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel:
“The daughter of Babylon is like a threshing floor When it is time to thresh her; Yet a little while And the time of her harvest will come.” (Jeremiah 51:24-33)

Russia is the leader from the north and it controls most of the kings of the Medes.  These prophecies show a Russian dominated force destroying the final Babylonian Europe.

Denmark does face a threat, but its response towards Europe will ultimately provoke devastating military action from Russia and its end time allies.

And what about North America?
