USA has too many liars, so relaxes standards to hire border control agents; UN issues civil unrest warning

CBS reported the following:

The agency — an arm of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) — has struggled to hire the 5,000 agents President Trump requested to help secure the Mexican border. …

But the agency is also having a hard time finding applicants who can pass a polygraph test. By its own admission, 75 percent of them failed. The agency now offers a shorter polygraph test, and allows waivers from the test for law enforcement and the military.

“We looked at all the steps in the hiring process,” said Acting Deputy CBP Commissioner Ronald Vitiello. … the last time Border Patrol aggressively increased recruiting, after 9/11, the CBP didn’t have polygraph tests. So, we see that most who apply for this law enforcement test fail to pass what is commonly called a “lie detector” test. The logical conclusion is that this is because they are lying. Furthermore, since the government apparently is of the opinion that other law enforcement and military personnel are liars, they get to be exempted from the lie detector tests.

Is it any wonder many have distrust of the US government?

Notice the following prophecy:

1 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! (2 Timothy 3:1-5)

We are in the last days. Slanderers, traitors, and blasphemers are all liars.

The USA is more and more becoming a nation of liars.

Years ago, back in 2012, the US Supreme Court decided that Americans had the right to lie (see Supreme Court Protects ‘Right to Lie’). Believe it or not, part of the rationale seems to be that it should be okay for adulterers to lie (see Supreme Court Divided About Lies).

The Bible condemns lying and adultery; here is one such condemnation:

8 But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death. (Revelation 21:8)

Jesus told some of the rulers (Pharisees, John 8:13) and others of His day:

44 You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. 45 But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me. 46 Which of you convicts Me of sin? And if I tell the truth, why do you not believe Me? 47 He who is of God hears God’s words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God. (John 8:44-47)

Jesus condemned lying, as well as not believing someone who is telling the truth.

Decades ago, the USA passed The Employee Polygraph Protection Act of 1988 (EPPA) making it illegal for most private employers to use polygraphs related to hiring.

Yet, while it is normally illegal for private employers to use polygraph tests, the US government still can.

This is hypocritical.

The Bible warns of punishment coming to “an hypocritical nation” (Isaiah 10:6, KJV).

Lies and hypocrisy do not bode well for the USA.

Racists and others often use lies to stir people up (watch also Race and Grace; Do you view race as God does?).

Now, the recent bouts of civil unrest in the USA have captured the attention of the United Nations:

A United Nations Committee tasked with combating racism on a global scale has issued an ultra rare “early warning” for the United States citing “alarming racism” trends. …

As StockBoardAsset.com notes, this rare signal often preludes the potential for civil conflict.

In the past 10-years, the early warning has been issued in Burundi, Iraq, Ivory Coast, Kyrgyzstan and Nigeria. …

Let’s take a moment to gain another perspective from Los Angeles Times writer Jesse Walker asks in an Op-Ed: Are we headed for a second civil war?

Not inconceivable? That’s a low bar. It’s certainly possible to imagine America returning to the violence of the 1960s and ’70s, and beneath the overwrought language, that’s what some – though not all – of these civil war prophets seem to have in mind. But a near-future war with two clear sides and Gettysburg-sized casualty counts is about as likely as a war with the moon.

These “new civil war” stories frequently take a bait-and-switch approach. They invoke the violence at demonstrations like the rally in Charlottesville, Va., last weekend, where a man reportedly sympathetic to Nazism drove his car into a crowd of counter-protesters, killing a woman. In the same breath, they discuss the broad divisions separating “red” America from “blue” America. If you flip quickly between small violent clashes and big political disagreements, those big disagreements will look bloodier.

Conclusion

It’s clear that the United States is being purposely divided.
