Long ‘blood moon’ tonight: Many have been prophetically wrong about blood moons

A long ‘blood moon’ is expected in part of the world tonight. Some are concerned that it has prophetic ramifications:

Blood Moon 2018: END OF THE WORLD fears as lunar eclipse LOOMS

A PASTOR has claimed the upcoming Blood Moon could signal the beginning of the end with the lunar eclipse set to happen this week.

The total lunar will redden the moon on the night of Friday, July 27.

Many who see the Blood Moon as an apocalyptic sign of the end times believe it was foretold in Biblical scripture.

The Friday eclipse marks the second time this year doomsday preachers have latched onto the astronomical event, following hot on the heels of the January 31, 2018, Super Blue Blood Moon.

One of the chief conspiracists sharing the Blood Moon doomsday prophecy is Indiana-based pastor Paul Begley …

In his latest online sermon, dubbed “Prophecy Alert: The Is Rising”, the preacher said: “You know, God spoke to me and told me ‘go check out the Blood Moon’ back in June.

“He said ‘you need to find out what’s going on’ so I knew the Blood Moon was coming but we already had our four Blood Moon Tetrad back in 2014 to 2015, so I wasn’t really that worried about it.

“So the Lord said ‘you need to go check it out’ and I did and I found out it’s the longest Blood Moon of the century. …

“I found out it was happening over Jerusalem and found that it would be unbelievable folks.”

Pastor Begley claimed to have been inspired by God himself to reveal the prophetic significance of the July 27 Blood Moon to the masses.

The preacher claimed the Blood Moon will rise in the 70th year of Israel becoming a nation.

He said: “Everything I’m saying is the truth, the facts, and it is a fact that Joel Chapter 2 says the sun will be darkened and the moon shall turn into blood before the great and terrible day of the Lord shall come.

“It is a fact the scripture says in Acts 2 that the sun shall be darkened and the moon shall turn to blood before the great and terrible day of the Lord comes. 07/24/18 https://www.express.co.uk/news/weird/993081/Blood-Moon-2018-end-of-the-world-lunar-eclipse-bible-prophecy

No, the 70th anniversary of the state of Israel and tonight’s blood moon are NOT related to the prophecies in Joel 2 or Acts 2.

Several hours ago, World Net Daily (WND) posted the following:

Longest blood moon of century taking over skies

Is God sending divine message to people of Earth? …

Pastor Mark Biltz, of El Shaddai Ministries and the discoverer of the “Blood Moons” phenomenon of landing on biblical holy days, says such events in the sky can be messages from God.

Biltz told WND the coming eclipse is happening over the entire Middle East on Tu B’Av or the 15th of Av on the biblical calendar.

He explained, “Tu B’Av in Israel is a very important day – similar to our Valentine’s Day and all about love. …

“I believe God is proclaiming His love for Israel and there is a possibility that a war may be coming involving Iran and/or North Korea sometime over this next year,” he said. 07/26/18 https://www.wnd.com/2018/07/longest-blood-moon-of-century-taking-over-skies/#ET8Rzm4tACU6kZiR.99

As far as Valentine’s Day goes, check out the article Valentine’s Day: Its Real Origins.

Years ago, I denounced the view that the ‘blood moons’ of 2014 and 2015 could mean that Jesus would return or that the ‘Day of the Lord’ was about to start. This was something that Mark Biltz (who practices Messianic Judaism) started promoting back in 2008–but he was wrong. John Hagee’s pushing of that was wrong as well.

Now, while there could be a war with Iran, North Korea, and/or Israel, this is NOT related to the upcoming blood moon. Mark Biltz has speculated about so many of these moons that one day he may well appear to have been correct. But that is NOT because these blood moons are a prophetic sign from God.

I have repeatedly warned against false ‘blood moon’ interpretations, as the following articles over the past several years help demonstrate:

Could next week’s ‘blood moon’ be a message from God?

Thursday, July 19th, 2018

Yes, those who pointed to prophetic significance of the blood moons which happened over the past several years were wrong.

Furthermore, at least one Protestant thinks the 70th week of Daniel may commence tonight:

  • 2018 AD (beginning of the 70th Week of Daniel – Passover, March 30) = Full Blood Moon over Jerusalem on 27 July 2018 which will be on a total lunar eclipse. The moon will pass through the center of the Earth’s shadow. Thus, on 27 July 2018, a central lunar eclipse or “Bull’s-eye Blood Moon” will be directly in line with Jerusalem and wholly visible in all of Israel. It will occur within 7 days or 21-22 July 2018 (27 July vs. 21 July or 7 inclusive days) commemorating the 9th of Av – the DESTRUCTION of the Solomonic and Herodian Temples in Jerusalem (day of fasting). From Passover, 30 March 2018 or Nissan 14/15 to 27 July 2018 will be precisely 120 days (inclusive dates), possibly signaling the onset of the 120 Jubilee cycles (120 * 50 yrs. = 6,000 years) … could this be the commencement of the 70th Week of Daniel’s Prophecy found in Daniel 9:24-27 (March 30, 2018)? We think it highly probable! http://www.tribnet.org/cgi-bin/article.cgi?function=display_article&article_id=44

No, the blood moon tonight is not the commencement of the deal of Daniel 9:27. First that deal needs to be made, and then it must be confirmed by a ‘prince.’ There simply is not enough time for that to happen today.

What is a blood moon? Here is one explanation:

A lunar eclipse occurs when the moon passes in the shadow of Earth. This is an area known as the umbra, where light from the Sun is blocked by our planet.

When the light refracts differently in the atmosphere and hits the moon, it makes it appear red. During a total eclipse, the entire moon is in shadow and it appears ‘blood red’. 07/11/18 https://www.mirror.co.uk/science/what-blood-moon-heres-moon-12801318

So, a blood moon is basically a reddish appearing shadow on the moon.

The Bible teaches:

2 The LORD says, “Do not start following pagan religious practices. Do not be in awe of signs that occur in the sky even though the nations hold them in awe. 3 For the religion of these people is worthless. They cut down a tree in the forest, and a craftsman makes it into an idol with his tools. 4 He decorates it with overlays of silver and gold. He uses hammer and nails to fasten it together so that it will not fall over. (Jeremiah 10:2-4, NET Bible)

So, before the longest blood moon of the century occurs, I again want to inform people that this eclipse is a natural phenomenon.

Because there are many false and heretical leaders that lead people astray on prophecy and sometimes they mention the Bible to try to act like God sanctions their nonsense, they should be denounced as false.

All should REALLY pay attention to the Bible.

We in the Continuing Church of God “have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts” (2 Peter 1:19, KJV).”

Thus, you can be certain that tonight’s ‘blood moon’ is not a message from God related to Jesus’ return or Daniel 9:27.
