COGwriter<\/a><\/p>\n April 22nd is known as “Earth Day.”<\/p>\n Here is a little about the history of Earth Day:<\/p>\n By the late 1960s, air and water pollution had already achieved serious environmental damage in the USA. Acid rain damaged forests, smog plagued cities, and suburban sprawl in its own paved-over way extended urban blight. Yet little appropriate national legislation existed. There was no Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Clean Water Act, or Endangered Species Act. Land, rivers, and people \u2014 whether in city or countryside \u2014 were all dumped on.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n In 1969 that changed as two events grabbed the headlines: California\u2019s pristine coast at Santa Barbara played host to a massive oil spill and Cleveland\u2019s Cuyahoga River caught on fire. US Senator Gaylord Nelson, known from previous public service as Wisconsin\u2019s \u201cConservation Governor,\u201d flew back from Santa Barbara with an idea and on 22 April 1970, the first Earth Day was celebrated by 20 million Americans across the nation.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Earth Day quickly went global. By the 30th anniversary in 2000, people in 184 countries were holding Earth Day celebrations. That year the focus was clean energy. A decade later, the 40th anniversary saw attention shift to climate change…<\/p><\/blockquote>\n What was, on that first Earth Day, full-blown confidence that industrial-technological civilization and 3.7 billion people could right itself has in 2013 become a troubled doubt that global consumerism for the nearly doubled population\u20147 billion\u2014can. http:\/\/blog.oup.com\/2013\/04\/history-earth-day\/<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n There are several scriptures that would seem to be appropriate for “Earth Day.” Here is one to look at:<\/p>\n 15 Then the LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it (Genesis 2:15).<\/p>\n The concept of tending and keeping a garden suggests proper environmental stewardship.<\/p>\n Notice, however, the following:<\/p>\n 18 The nations were angry, and Your wrath has come, Thus, God is not pleased when humans abuse the environment.<\/p>\n Here is information on it related to 2025:<\/p>\n The theme for Earth Day 2025 is Our Power, Our Planet<\/a><\/strong>, inviting everyone around the globe to unite behind renewable energy, and to triple the global generation of clean electricity by 2030. https:\/\/www.earthday.org\/earth-day-2025\/?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiAoJC-BhCSARIsAPhdfSiCaSNMsml44M8C5Ef0YH5D_mLfoxXon4mGh3EyD16kcI0j5EkVIx4aArLXEALw_wcB<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n This looks like a plan to try to hook up with the United Nations’ goals for 2030.<\/p>\n Related to pollution, the Continuing<\/em> Church of God<\/a> (CCOG) put out the following video on our Bible News Prophecy<\/a> YouTube channel:<\/p>\n At the Basel Convention, 187 nations, other than the USA agreed to a UN backed deal on plastic pollution. The USA was also called \u2018a rogue nation\u2019 for backing out of the Paris Climate Accords. Will Europeans turn against the USA? In late May 2019, the journal Scientific Reports estimated that there were 5.25 trillion pieces of plastic debris in the oceans\u2013more pieces than stars in the Milky Way. The United Nations has made estimates that as many as one million plant and animal species are in danger of going extinct, mainly due to human caused issues. Is there a solution? Does the world know what it is? What about the role of sin? Since Jesus will return, how should Christians handle environmental issues such as trash and litter? How will this all get resolved? Dr. Thiel addresses these issues and more.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n Here is a link to that video: Will Pollution lead to the End?<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n Many around the world have paid at least some lip service to reduction of pollution–particularly in the past several years.<\/p>\n Back in 2015, Pope Francis released his encyclical titled Laudato Si<\/a><\/em>. This was well received in the international community and was consistent with the ‘New Universal Agenda’<\/a>‘ Pope Francis endorsed, that was adopted by the United Nations in September of 2015 then later adopted in Paris.<\/p>\n On September 7, 2016, Olav Fykse Tveit, Church of Norway Pastor, and the General Secretary of the World Council of Churches, essentially declared that those who ignore ‘climate change’ are committing the ‘unpardonable sin’ against the Holy Spirit.<\/p>\n While Christians should try to properly tend and keep the earth, certain of the Vatican’s, WCC’s, and the United Nations’ plans go beyond that to include changes to society and governmental controls that look to lead to the rise of the Beast power<\/a> that the Bible warns against. The World Economic Forum has also been pushing a similar (and often unbiblical) agenda.<\/p>\n Now, the Bible shows how to resolve climate change:<\/p>\n 3 \u2018If you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments, and perform them, Yes, there is a biblical solution to climate change, but COP27 and the associated religious ceremony have overlooked that.<\/p>\n But, people will heed God and His ways during the millennial Kingdom of God.<\/p>\n Until the arrival of that Kingdom, all human beings should strive to obey God while being careful about waste and pollution. During that time, on November 13, 2022, a \u2018Chrislam\u2019 type group composed of leaders from the Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Protestant, Islamic, Buddhist, Hindu, and other faiths associated with the Interfaith Center for Sustainable Development and the Elijah Interfaith Institute are making what they titled \u2018A Prophetic Call for Climate Justice\u2019 and are having a \u2018Ceremony of Repentance\u2019 on what is referred to as Mount Sinai, in Egypt. Do this sound Gaia, mother goddess worship? Are Christians supposed to have religious ceremonies with pagans? What did the Apostle Paul write? What did Jesus say would happen to the earth? Are humans, apart from God, going to solve climate problems before Jesus returns? Is there any type of false gospel associated with aspects of the climate change movement? Would obeying God solve the issues of pollution and climate change? What about the good news, the gospel of the Kingdom of God? Does the Bible have the solution to pollution? Does the Bible have the answer to solving climate change?
