U.S. President Donald Trump<\/a> has told Iran to \u201cget serious soon\u201d about a peace deal with Washington, or face the consequences.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey better get serious soon, before it is too late, because once that happens, there is NO TURNING BACK, and it won\u2019t be pretty!\u201d he posted on Truth Social<\/a> early Thursday.<\/p>\n

The president described Iranian negotiators as \u201cvery different\u201d and \u201cstrange\u201d and said they were \u201cbegging\u201d the U.S. to make a deal to end the war that has raged for almost four weeks.<\/p>\n

Trump\u2019s comments come after contradictory statements from Washington and Tehran\u00a0regarding the status of peace talks.\u00a0The U.S. has said talks over a proposed peace plan have been taking place, while Iran denies any direct interaction with Washington.<\/p>\n

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi … added that an exchange of messages between the two countries through mediators \u201cdoes not mean negotiations with the U.S.,\u201d Reuters reported.<\/p>\n
