NATO is adjusting to a shifting security landscape and the United States is not seeking to leave the alliance, Turkish \u200bDefence Minister Yasar Guler told Reuters ahead of a NATO summit in Ankara next week.<\/p>\n

Turkey will host 32 NATO leaders<\/a>, as well as \u200cofficials from the Gulf and Asia-Pacific region, on July 7-8 for a summit that it hopes will emphasise alliance unity<\/a> and bolster deterrence. …<\/p>\n

“NATO \u2060continues to be an unparalleled and fundamental platform for Euro-Atlantic security and defence. We evaluate the period we are going through not as a crisis, but \u200bas a process of adjusting to the changing security environment,” Guler said. …<\/p>\n

“It is expected that contacts and efforts on creating a concrete roadmap to strengthen the European pillar will intensify at the Summit,” Guler said, …<\/p>\n

EUROPEAN \u2060SECURITY INITIATIVES<\/h3>\n
Turkey has NATO’s second-largest army and in recent years has significantly cut its external dependence in the defence sector, developing one of the world’s leading defence industries.<\/a> … Guler told Reuters that while Ankara in principle viewed European steps to strengthen defence and security as positive, these efforts lacked inclusivity and would therefore not be fully effective. “We believe excluding such an important capacity (Turkey) from Europe’s defence \u200binitiatives is a strategically inaccurate approach,” he \u200bsaid, adding that Ankara expected \u2060Europe to adopt a “visionary approach” and embrace cooperation with Turkey.\u00a0https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/aerospace-defense\/turkey-says-nato-adjusting-security-landscape-us-not-withdrawing-2026-06-30\/<\/a><\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Turkey’s Erdogan calls for full integration into European defense framework<\/h2>\n

Turkish President Recep Erdogan has called for Turkey’s full integration into Europe’s defense and security architecture, ahead of a key NATO summit next week.<\/p>\n

Addressing parliamentarians from NATO’s 32 member states gathered in Istanbul, Erdogan said Turkey should be included in all European defense and security initiatives, highlighting Ankara’s role as a major contributor to the Alliance.<\/p>\n

“As one of the countries contributing to the development of NATO’s European pillar, we want to take part in all defense and security initiatives in Europe,” Erdogan said.<\/p>\n

Will there be an alliance of European nations including Turkey?<\/p>\n

Yes, but it will appear for a time that Turkey will be more involved in an alliance with Muslim nations of the Middle East and North Africa.<\/p>\n

Notice a prophecy in the Book of Psalms:<\/p>\n

2 For behold, Your enemies make a tumult;
\nAnd those who hate You have lifted up their head.
\n3 They have taken crafty counsel against Your people,
\nAnd consulted together against Your sheltered ones.
\n4 They have said, “Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation,
\nThat the name of Israel may be remembered no more.”
\n5 For they have consulted together with one consent;
\nThey form a confederacy against You:
\n6 The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites;
\nMoab and the Hagrites;
\n7 Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek;
\nPhilistia with the inhabitants of Tyre;
\n8 Assyria also has joined with them;
\nThey have helped the children of Lot. (Psalms 83:2-8)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The ‘who’ that have consulted together and agreed to the conspiracy includes Turkey. \u201cEdom\u201d is a reference to Turkey. ‘Assyria’ is a reference to a future European power. The “the Ishmaelites; Moab and the Hagrites; 7 Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek; Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre;” are a reference to the Arabic peoples.<\/p>\n

So, Turkey will work with both.<\/p>\n

Notice the following from the old Radio Church of God:<\/p>\n

Turn to the astounding prophecy found in Psalm 83:1-8. David, inspired of God, predicted the coming time when ALL of Israel\u2019s enemies would join together in an effort to crush out even the name \u201cIsrael\u201d from the face of the earth! (Verse 4) \u201cFor they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee\u2026\u201d (verse 5). Notice the nations making up this confederation. \u201cEdom [Turkey], and the Ishmaelites [Saudi Arabia]; Moab [Jordan], and the Hagarenes [they anciently dwelt in the land known as Syria today]; Gebal {Lebanon}, and Ammon [Jordan] and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre; Assur [whose descendants migrated to Germany] is joined with them; they have helped the children of Lot\u201d {Moab and Ammon in modern Jordan). Here we see that the Arab nations mentioned are allied with Germany (Assur) which we know from other prophecies will be the military leader \u2014 naturally so \u2014 of a United States of Europe…Egypt…will provoke the prophesied United Europe (Dan. 11:40). This European power \u2014 called the “king of the north” in Daniel 11 \u2014 shall invade and occupy the “glorious land” of Palestine (verse 41). “And the land of Egypt shall not escape”(Boraker R. SYRIA RAIDS ISRAEL \u2013 Where Is It Leading? Plain Truth. November 1966)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Turkey will be part of a confederacy that will conspire against the tiny nation of Israel as well as against the USA and its British-descended allies (see also Anglo – America in Prophecy & the Lost Tribes of Israel<\/a>) but since Assyria is involved in Psalm 83, this is also an alliance with a coming European power.<\/p>\n

The Bible also shows that Turkey will also, temporarily and as part of a confederacy, support the prophesied King of the South:<\/a><\/p>\n

40 \u201cAt the time of the end the king of the South shall attack him; and the king of the North shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter the countries, overwhelm them, and pass through. 41 He shall also enter the Glorious Land, and many countries shall be overthrown; but these shall escape from his hand: Edom, Moab, and the prominent people of Ammon. 42 He shall stretch out his hand against the countries, and the land of Egypt shall not escape. 43 He shall have power over the treasures of gold and silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt; also the Libyans and Ethiopians shall follow at his heels. (Daniel 11:40-43)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Understand that Daniel 11:41 shows that Turkey (Edom) will escape the coming destruction from the King of the North<\/a>, despite being aligned for a time with the King of the South<\/a>.<\/p>\n

And the king of the South shall be stirred up to battle with a very great and mighty army; but he shall not stand, for they shall devise plans against him. 26<\/sup> Yes, those who eat of the portion of his delicacies shall destroy him<\/strong>; his army shall be swept away, and many shall fall down slain<\/strong>. (Daniel 11:25-26) …<\/p>\n

The Great Arab, Turkey, and a European Leader<\/strong><\/p>\n

Now notice the following Roman Catholic writings which consider that the Byzantines are Turks\u2014which have controlled Byzantium since 1453:<\/p>\n

Nostradamus<\/em> (died 1566): The Great Arab shall progress well forward, But betrayed shall be by the Byzantines. (Turks).<\/p>\n

Comment on above from Roman Catholic writer Yves Dupont<\/em>: Here, we are told that Turkey will break its faith with the rest of the Arab world.[i]<\/a><\/p>\n

The \u201cGreat Arab\u201d is probably supposed to represent the final King of the South who will likely be considered as a Mahdi\/Caliph. The Turks currently control part of what was once called Byzantium. Hence, Roman Catholic prophecy indicates that a Muslim leader will arise militarily and Turkey will betray the Islamic Arabic power. That is also consistent with Daniel 11:40-41 which says that Edom, which includes modern day Turkey, will escape the wrath of the King of the North\u2019s armies\u2014perhaps because they will have betrayed the King of the South (consistent with Daniel 11:26). Turkey is also not listed as one of the nations that Ezekiel 30:3-5 (which also seems to be related to the coming King of the South) says will be defeated near the \u201cday of the Lord.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nostradamus\u2019 statement could also be consistent with the hadith (Sahih Muslim 2897, Book 54, Hadith 44) that says one third of the army against the Romans will not fight.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, notice the following Roman Catholic prophecy:<\/p>\n

Rudolph Gekner<\/em> (died 1675): A great prince of the North with a most powerful army will traverse all Europe<\/strong>, uproot all republics, and exterminate all rebels<\/strong>. His sword \u2026 will combat on behalf of the true orthodox faith, and shall subdue to his dominion the Mahometan Empire.[ii]<\/a><\/p>\n

If the above has a lot of accuracy (and it has certain biblical consistency with Daniel 11:40-43), it seems to also show that all (or at least some) republics are to be uprooted before the Muslim King of the South\u00a0is invaded by the biblical King of the North. The Bible in Revelation 17:12-13 supports the idea of republics being replaced by a different form of governance.<\/p>\n

So, yes, we see some convergence here of biblical, Islamic, and Roman Catholic prophecy. (Now there is a biblical prophecy about 1\/3 getting killed in Revelation 9:15, but it is not related to this battle.)<\/p>\n

That said, let\u2019s address Constantinople, which is now called Istanbul. Istanbul is controlled by Turkey. And while there is not a biblical reference that points to it being conquered again by other Muslims, like Sahih Muslim 2897, Book 54, Hadith 44 <\/em>states, some Muslims believe that Constantinople will possibly end up being dominated by false Muslims based on that same hadith. [iii]<\/a> That may be in line with scriptures related to the betrayal of the coming King of the South (Daniel 11:26,41).<\/p>\n

In addition, notice that a Roman Catholic prophecy points to Turks from Constantinople converting and the Europeans pushing out Islam:<\/p>\n

Brother Louis Rocco<\/em> (19th<\/sup> century): All over Europe there will rage terrible civil wars\u2026 In Constantinople, the cross will replace the half moon of Moslemism \u2026A Catholic descendant of a German imperial house (Hapsburg?) will rule \u2026 [iv]<\/a><\/p>\n

Brother Louis Rocco<\/em> (19th century): The southern Slavs will form a great Catholic Empire and drive out of Europe the Turks (Mohammedans), who will withdraw to North Africa and subsequently embrace the Catholic faith.[v]<\/a><\/p>\n

One of the times this author and his wife were in Turkey, we asked a Muslim guide about the Turks consuming alcohol. The guide stated that this was because the Turks had been a nomadic people and that in various ways there were not \u201cgood Muslims.\u201d<\/p>\n

While that can be debated, overall, the Turks tend to be a pragmatic people. When the Turks see the power of the European King of the North and the impending doom of the King of the South (whom some may consider as the Imam Mahdi), the Turks look prophesied to betray him. Hence, they, in that sense, could be considered false Muslims who will fulfill that hadith of Sahih Muslim 2897, Book 54, Hadith 44.<\/p>\n

The comment about a Habsburg (spelled Hapsburg above) was inserted by a Roman Catholic priest is interesting as a Habsburg descendant could well be the final King of the North Beast from the sea.<\/p>\n

So what do we make of all of this?<\/p>\n

Well, for a time, Turkey will be moving further away from Europe and closer to the Islamic world (cf. Psalm 83:4-8). But this will not last. What Turkey is trying to do now is to move closer to the Europeans.<\/p>\n

Yes, in time, Turkey will will align with the King of the South<\/a>. My experience with the Turks (my wife and I have been to Turkey 3 or 4 times) is that they are a pragmatic people. In time, they will see problems with the ambitions of the King of the South<\/a>. This will lead to one or more leaders in Turkey betraying the King of the South<\/a> to the European<\/a> King of the North<\/a> consistent with Daniel 11:26, who may well be a Habsburg (see also Might German Baron Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg become the King of the North?<\/a>).<\/p>\n

In the past, Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has called for an Islamic alliance–such an alliance will one day take place. Yet, Turkey ultimately will align with Europe.<\/p>\n

Biblical prophecies concerning Turkey will come to pass.<\/p>\n
