Australia&#8217;s Foreign Minister Penny Wong said the Chinese test was destabilizing for regional security. Japan called on China to reconsider its actions.<\/p>\n<p>New Zealand said it does not want China to use the South Pacific as a testing ground for missiles. &#8220;We are deeply concerned about China&#8217;s tests of nuclear-capable weapons in the South Pacific,&#8221; Foreign Minister Winston Peters said in Wellington. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is a submarine-launched intercontinental ballistic missile of the Julang (JL)-3 series,&#8221; wrote Lieutenant Colonel Zhang Junshe a researcher with the People&#8217;s Liberation Army (PLA) Naval Military Academic Research Institute. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>China wants to bring about change in the Pacific. The strong military presence of the US and its allies on China&#8217;s doorstep is a cause for concern in Beijing.<\/p>\n<p>The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) wants to ensure that it is capable of <a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/could-chinese-ai-threaten-western-submarines\/a-74076830\">retaliating against military first strikes<\/a> and responding with what Beijing considers an appropriate counterattack. At the same time, China, a nuclear power, has promised not to launch a nuclear first strike.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;China is currently aggressively challenging the US-led regional security architecture on various levels,&#8221; wrote Felix Heiduk, head of the Asia Research Group at the Berlin-based think tank Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik (SWP), in 2024. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Heiduk wrote in 2024 that Beijing aims to achieve its strategic goal by <a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/decoding-china-can-beijing-become-a-naval-power-in-pacific\/a-68495999\">promoting an alternative regional order<\/a> &#8216;by and for Asians&#8217; with China at the helm, while labeling this US-led order a &#8216;relic of the Cold War.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>This strategy includes the rearmament of the People&#8217;s Liberation Army (PLA), the expansion of bilateral security partnerships, and the militarization of large parts of the <a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/south-china-sea-conflict\/t-67223870\">South China Sea<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/can-the-quad-stay-relevant-to-boost-indo-pacific-security\/a-77261939\">Security concerns are also growing<\/a> in the South Pacific.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The PLA&#8217;s missile force is China&#8217;s most effective means of launching long-range strikes against Australia,&#8221; writes Sam Roggeveen and David Vallance of the Australian think tank Lowy Institute in a June 2026 study. &#8220;In the event of a major regional conflict, bases throughout northern Australia <a class=\"internal-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/china-accuses-australia-of-hyping-live-fire-navy-drills\/a-71718592\">would be targets<\/a> for the PLA.&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/chinas-missile-test-builds-on-pacific-nuclear-deterrence\/a-77861936\">https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/chinas-missile-test-builds-on-pacific-nuclear-deterrence\/a-77861936<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Notice also:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h2 class=\"text-3xl font-bold leading-tight tracking-tight lg:text-4xl text-left text-brand-foreground mb-0\">Understanding the Chinese military threat to Australia<\/h2>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"mb-2\">China\u2019s ability to direct military force against Australia operates primarily through domains other than direct strikes on the Australian landmass. Its ability to interdict Australia\u2019s maritime trade, sever undersea communications infrastructure, conduct sophisticated cyber operations, and project naval power into Australian waters is robust and will grow substantially over the coming decade.<\/li>\n<li class=\"mb-2\">China can already strike northern Australia with ballistic missiles deployed to its South China Sea outposts, and its capacity to strike the Australian landmass from Chinese territory will grow over the next decade as the DF-27 intermediate-range ballistic missile, and potentially a conventionally armed intercontinental ballistic missile, grow in service numbers.<\/li>\n<li class=\"mb-2\">Two factors could quickly and dramatically escalate the strike threat against the Australian landmass: China could field a new long-range bomber (a crewed or drone aircraft), or it could deploy existing bombers and missiles to bases closer to Australia.<\/li>\n<li class=\"mb-2\">China\u2019s military build-up has already eroded US military primacy in the Indo-Pacific, increased the threat to Taiwan, and created structural pressure on regional states to accommodate Beijing\u2019s preferences. These shifts affect Australian security regardless of China\u2019s capacity to strike Australian territory. &#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p>The direct strike threat to Australian territory is real and growing but should be understood within this broader context. The primary conventional strike threat over the next decade will come from Chinese missiles, fired from surface ships, submarines, and potentially from Chinese territory via the DF-27 intermediate-range ballistic missile.06\/14\/26 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lowyinstitute.org\/publications\/understanding-the-chinese-military-threat-to-australia\">https:\/\/www.lowyinstitute.org\/publications\/understanding-the-chinese-military-threat-to-australia<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Australia hopes that the USA will always be able to defend it.<\/p>\n<p>But, this alliance will not last as long as Australia seems to hope.<\/p>\n<p>China has lashed out at Australia for its positions as well as ties to the USA over the past decade or so.<\/p>\n<p>Years ago, China\u2019s <em>Global Times<\/em>\u00a0actually wrote:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>\u2018Paper cat\u2019 Australia will learn its lesson &#8230;<\/h3>\n<p>2016\/7\/30<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>Australia is a unique country with an inglorious history. It was at first an offshore prison of the UK and then became its colony, a source of raw materials, overseas market and land of investment. This country was established through uncivilized means, in a process filled with the tears of the aboriginals. \u2026<\/p>\n<p>Analysts say that besides trying to please the US, it also intends to suppress China &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Australia is not even a \u201cpaper tiger,\u201d it\u2019s only a \u201cpaper cat\u201d at best. &#8230; Australia has unexpectedly made itself a pioneer of hurting China\u2019s interest with a fiercer attitude than countries directly involved in the South China Sea dispute. But this paper cat won\u2019t last. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.globaltimes.cn\/content\/997320.shtml\">http:\/\/www.globaltimes.cn\/content\/997320.shtml<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>So, China is indicating that Australia is basically illegitimate (<em>established through uncivilized means<\/em>) and that its power basically means nothing to China. Furthermore, China must take revenge and let it know it\u2019s wrong.<\/p>\n<p>Back in 2009 when Hillary Clinton was US Secretary of State, &#8230; I wrote that China may take over Australia. Since I wrote that, my belief in that outcome has increased.<\/p>\n<p>On June 24, 2010, the day it was announced that she became Prime Minister of Australia,\u00a0I warned that I felt that Julia Gillard would take steps to fulfill prophecies that also could get the Chinese interested in taking over Australia (see\u00a0<a title=\"Permanent Link to Australia Now Has a Female Prime Minister: Prophetic Ramifications?\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/news\/prophecy\/australia-now-has-a-female-prime-minister-prophetic-ramifications\/\" rel=\"bookmark\">Australia Now Has a Female Prime Minister: Prophetic Ramifications?<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>And that happened.<\/p>\n<p>On November 10, 2011, I posted the following:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The USA is getting concerned about China enough to station troops in Australia \u2026<\/p>\n<p>Relying more on a declining military power is not the answer for Australia.\u00a0 And even if the presence is not huge, just having US troops \u2018permanently\u2019 stationed in Australia shows more reliance by Australia on the USA\u2019s military. \u2026<\/p>\n<p>The Australians themselves have had various concerns about China, but while they seem to feel that allowing the USA in the country in a bigger way will protect them, I have a different view.\u00a0 The presence of US troops in China may be used as part of its possible future justification for taking the land of Australia.\u00a0 The Chinese may claim something to the effect that Australia is really a military pawn\/representative of the USA and thus, since the USA owes them money, taking over Australia will help settle that debt.<\/p>\n<p>China is rising up and the USA is declining militarily relative to it and Europe right now. This does not bode well for the USA nor its allies like Australia.\u00a0 The implication for Australia is more than profound\u2013the implications are disastrous.<\/p>\n<p>The Bible suggests that the land of the Anglo-descended peoples will be conquered and divided (Daniel 11:39; Lamentations 4:16; Joel 3:2-3; Amos 7:17; Ezekiel 5:1-2,12; 6:8; Ezekiel 22:13-15; )<\/p>\n<p>Without national repentance, the Australia is doomed. Period. The prophetic reality is that the US military will NOT be able to protect Australia, the UK, and other parts of the world in the future.<\/p>\n<p>Events are aligning for various curses, like Australia losing its sovereignty and land (cf.
