In the coming days\u00a0the U.S. national debt is set to breach $40 trillion<\/a>\u00a0for the first time.<\/p>\n

Soberingly, Bank of America\u2019s chief equity strategist, Michael Hartnett. predicts that the next milestone, $50 trillion, will be reached in July 2029. 081426 https:\/\/www.msn.com\/en-us\/money\/economy\/ar-AA2a79gF<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The $40 trillion mark was hit last Wednesday –it hit $40,047,425,768,420.22 (https:\/\/fiscaldata.treasury.gov\/datasets\/debt-to-the-penny\/debt-to-the-penny<\/a>).<\/p>\n

At $50 trillion paying 5% interest, that is $2.5 trillion per year. At 12% interest it would have to pay $6 trillion–an amount that exceeds all federal taxes.<\/p>\n

Also, saw the following:<\/p>\n

Debt can topple even the most powerful empires.<\/p>\n

Whether it\u2019s Rome, Spain, France, Britain, or the Soviet Union, excessive debt has played a critical role in their decline.<\/p>\n

The typical pattern in these examples of collapsing empires is:<\/p>\n

Stage #1:\u00a0<\/strong>Empires achieve success and become overconfident.<\/p>\n

Stage #2:<\/strong>\u00a0Overconfidence leads to extravagant spending on luxuries and wars.<\/p>\n

Stage #3:<\/strong>\u00a0Empires finance this lavish spending by going into debt.<\/p>\n

Stage #4:<\/strong>\u00a0The debt grows to an unsustainable level and creates a crushing burden.<\/p>\n

Stage #5:\u00a0<\/strong>Empires finance the debt through taxation and currency debasement.<\/p>\n

Stage #6:<\/strong>\u00a0The populace bears the brunt of debt repayment as empires raise taxes and debase the currency\u2014to the maximum extent\u2014until it causes internal instability.<\/p>\n

Stage #7:<\/strong>\u00a0Empires cannot finance their militaries because of their debt burden. This is usually the tipping point.<\/p>\n

Stage #8:<\/strong>\u00a0Underfunded militaries plus internal instability make empires vulnerable to foreign invasion, domestic revolution, civil war, and other existential dangers.<\/p>\n

Stage #9:<\/strong>\u00a0The empire collapses.<\/p>\n

Now, it\u2019s the US Empire\u2019s turn.<\/p>\n

The US federal government has the biggest debt in the history of the world. And it\u2019s continuing to grow at a rapid, unstoppable pace.<\/p>\n

Sadly, the debt continues to rise.<\/p>\n

That is not unexpected–and is consistent with various prophecies.<\/p>\n

In my January 2025 free eBook, Unintended Consequences and Donald Trump\u2019s Presidency<\/a><\/span>, I warned:<\/p>\n

Official USA debt will rise in Donald Trump\u2019s second term in office<\/em>. (p. 37)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

While many see no real problem with debt, and actually think it is highly beneficial, consider the following:<\/p>\n

October 23, 2025<\/p>\n

Debt is the lifeblood of empire \u2014 until it becomes the disease. <\/em>https:\/\/dailyreckoning.com\/america-is-starting-to-look-like-her-mother\/<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Debt will end in disaster for the USA.<\/p>\n

The massive debt of the USA was prophesied over 2400 years ago.<\/p>\n

And the time will come, according to Bible prophecy, when the nations of the world will no longer accept the pledges (US Treasury Bills and Notes) of the indebted one:<\/p>\n

2 Then the Lord answered me and said:<\/p>\n

\u201cWrite the vision
\nAnd make it plain on tablets,
\nThat he may run who reads it.
\n3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time;
\nBut at the end it will speak, and it will not lie.
\nThough it tarries, wait for it;
\nBecause it will surely come,
\nIt will not tarry. (Habakkuk 2:2-3)<\/p>\n

6 \u201cWill not all these take up a proverb against him,
\nAnd a taunting riddle against him, and say,
\n\u2018Woe to him who increases
\nWhat is not his \u2014 how long?
\nAnd to him who loads himself with many pledges\u2019?
\n7 Will not your creditors rise up suddenly?
\nWill they not awaken who oppress you?
\nAnd you will become their booty.
\n8 Because you have plundered many nations,
\nAll the remnant of the people shall plunder you,
\nBecause of men\u2019s blood
\nAnd the violence of the land and the city,
\nAnd of all who dwell in it. (Habakkuk 2:6-8).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Please pay attention to the fact that that above is a prophecy for the appointed time of the end\u2013essentially the time of the Great Tribulation (Matthew 24:21). The USA has been accumulating pledges in the form of US Treasury bonds and notes, and is the most indebted nation of all time. It is descendants of Israel, like the USA, that are prophesied to have debt issues with foreigners if they turn from God’s laws (cf. Deuteronomy 28:43-44)–that is consistent with Habakkuk 2:6-8. The above prophecy is NOT a reference to the nation calling itself Israel as it has nothing compared to USA debt.<\/p>\n

Notice that the prophecy in Habakkuk says what will happen is so bad, that people should run who read it. That is, they should seriously consider what this means and take the appropriate steps.<\/p>\n

Foreign creditors will rise up. Habakkuk 2:6-8 will be fulfilled and the USA conquered.<\/p>\n

Many foreign creditors have reduced their holdings of USA debt:<\/p>\n

If you were to head to Bloomberg, CNBC, or Yahoo Finance this morning and see virtually all green across the board in US markets, you wouldn\u2019t think it\u2019s a sad day for America.<\/p>\n

And yet, despite stocks being up and investors positively effervescent, it is indeed a sad day, because today marks the first real capitulation by the Treasury Department.<\/p>\n

Stocks are up because the Treasury Department announced this morning that it will double repurchases of long-dated government bonds. If that sounds boring and mundane, it\u2019s not.<\/p>\n

For the past several weeks, Treasury yields have been skyrocketing. Our readers won\u2019t be surprised by this\u2014 we\u2019ve been predicting this and telling the story for quite some time.<\/p>\n

In short, the bond market is rapidly losing confidence in America. And that\u2019s especially true for foreign governments and central banks. …<\/p>\n

At peak (in 2011), foreigners owned nearly half of all marketable US Treasury bonds. Fifteen years later they hold less than a third, and that proportion is sliding quickly.<\/p>\n

Earlier this week the Treasury Department reported that foreigners continue to trim their holdings of US government bonds. In fact, so far this year, foreigners have only purchased 7% of net US debt issuance. In June, their purchases of Treasury bonds and notes fell 88% in a single month, and once you add in the Treasury bills they sold, foreigners were net SELLERS of US government debt. Despite the sell-off, which shows less confidence in the finances of the USA, many foreigners and foreign governments have parked some of their money in the USA stock market–so there is still a lot owed to foreigners. Yet, the situation with them–and USA debt–will worsen consistent with the words of God reported by Habakkuk the prophet.<\/p>\n

Habakkuk: Faith, USA\u2019s End, & Jesus\u2019 Return<\/a><\/h3>\n

In this sermon video, Dr. Thiel goes over each and every verse of the Book of Habakkuk. He also quotes other supportive verses in the Old and New Testaments, certain Church of God writings, and even the Dead Sea Scroll\u2019s \u2018Commentary on Habakkuk.\u2019 He spends time on the background of Habakkuk, how to live by faith, and prophetic matters. The Bible clearly warns that an indebted people will be destroyed by people whose language that they do not understand, and that the destruction will be fairly total:<\/p>\n

43 The alien who is among you shall rise higher and higher above you, and you shall come down lower and lower. 44 He shall lend to you, but you shall not lend to him; he shall be the head, and you shall be the tail. 45 Moreover all these curses shall come upon you and pursue and overtake you, until you are destroyed\u202647 \u201cBecause you did not serve the LORD your God with joy and gladness of heart, for the abundance of everything, 48 therefore you shall serve your enemies<\/strong>, whom the LORD will send against you, in hunger, in thirst, in nakedness, and in need of everything; and He will put a yoke of iron on your neck until He has destroyed you. 49 The LORD will bring a nation against you from afar, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flies, a nation whose language you will not understand<\/strong>, 50 a nation of fierce countenance, which does not respect the elderly nor show favor to the young. 51 And they shall eat the increase of your livestock and the produce of your land, until you are destroyed; they shall not leave<\/strong> you grain or new wine or oil, or the increase of your cattle or the offspring of your flocks, until they have destroyed you<\/strong>. 52 They shall besiege you at all your gates until your high and fortified walls, in which you trust, come down throughout all your land; and they shall besiege you at all your gates throughout all your land which the LORD your God has given you (Deuteronomy 28:43-45,47-52).<\/p>\n

7 The rich rules over the poor, And the borrower is servant to the lender. (Proverbs 22:7)<\/p>\n

13 And the Lord said, \u201cBecause they have forsaken My law which I set before them, and have not obeyed My voice, nor walked according to it, 14 but they have walked according to the dictates of their own hearts\u202616 I will scatter them also among the Gentiles, whom neither they nor their fathers have known<\/strong>. And I will send a sword after them until I have consumed them.\u201d (Jeremiah 9:13,14a,16)<\/p>\n

12 One-third of you shall die of the pestilence, and be consumed with famine in your midst; and one-third shall fall by the sword all around you; and I will scatter another third to all the winds, and I will draw out a sword after them. (Ezekiel 5:12)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Most will not believe, but that was expected:<\/p>\n

\n

6 \u201cDon\u2019t say such things,\u201d the people respond. \u201cDon\u2019t prophesy like that. Such disasters will never come our way!\u201d (Micah 2:6, New Living Translation)<\/p>\n

16 \u2026 You say, \u2018Do not prophesy against Israel, And do not spout against the house of Isaac.\u2019 (Amos 7:16)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Like many politicians, Donald Trump does not meet the following:<\/p>\n

21<\/sup> Moreover you shall select from all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; (Exodus 18:21)<\/p>\n

3<\/sup> The God of Israel said, The Rock of Israel spoke to me: \u2018He who rules over men must be just, Ruling in the fear of God. (2 Samuel 23:3)<\/p>\n

This does not bode well for the USA<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the Bible warns against the type of moral decline that is occurring in the USA:<\/p>\n

12<\/sup> Therefore thus says the Holy One of Israel:\u00a0 \u201cBecause you despise this word, And trust in oppression and perversity, And rely on them,\u00a0 13<\/sup> Therefore this iniquity shall be to you<\/strong> Like a breach ready to fall, A bulge in a high wall, Whose breaking comes suddenly, in an instant<\/strong>. (Isaiah 30:12-13)<\/p>\n

But how can this happen to the USA?\u00a0 It will likely happen with a combination of events. Notice:<\/p>\n

5<\/sup> \u201cMoreover the multitude of your foes Shall be like fine dust, And the multitude of the terrible ones Like chaff that passes away; Yes, it shall be in an instant, suddenly. 6<\/sup> You will be punished by the Lord of hosts With thunder and earthquake and great noise, With storm and tempest And the flame of devouring fire. (Isaiah 29:5-6)<\/p>\n

The debt situation of the USA is putting it at risk of being unable to recover should it be hit by weather problems, terrorist acts, war, riots, solar flares, severe earthquakes, civil unrest, devastation of its genetically-modified food supplies, food shortages, and\/or various pestilences\u2013. A combination of these events would lead to an intensity of \u201csorrows\u201d such as Jesus discussed in Matthew 24:4-8, leading up to the time of the Great Tribulation. Political issues, climate change, trade policies, communication\u2019s deals, and other events are pushing the USA into a more weakened state that will someday encourage its takeover. Disasters, especially if there is an ElectroMagnetic Pulse (EMP) attack or a severe solar flare storm, devastating hurricane (s) something like a massive volcanic eruption and\/or massive earthquake could be part of a so-called \u201cperfect storm\u201d of events that could set up the U.S.A. for destruction.<\/p>\n

Consider the devastation of New Orleans by Hurricane Katrina, the 2025 fires in Southern California. Multiply that by other disasters. The U.S.A. is at risk. Notice, also, the following related to Dr. Michio Kaku\u2019s assessment of Yellowstone:<\/p>\n

Scientists assure us that one day the absolutely massive Yellowstone supervolcano will once again experience a Category 8 eruption, and if it happened today it would \u201cliterally tear the guts out of the United States of America\u201d … \u201cInstead of having 50 states of the Union, we would have 30 states of the Union.\u201d [i]<\/a><\/p>\n

A \u2018perfect storm\u2019 of disasters, internal strife, and misplaced confidences will make the U.S.A. a nation that can be defeated.<\/p>\n

On June 3, 2023, US President Joe Biden signed a bill to increase the official debt-ceiling of the United States. According to its Treasury the “ceiling” has been changed, increased, or delayed 78 other times. The official debt has nearly tripled since the Obama-Biden Administration. The official debt increased about $2 trillion per year under Donald Trump’s Administration and has done close to that in the Joe Biden Administration. While the USA has been able to increase debt with limited consequences (like inflation) so far, does the Bible show this can end in destruction? What did God warn about debt through the prophet Habakkuk? Is getting into high amounts of debt a blessing or curse according to the Bible? Do Democrats or Republicans currently have a plan that will now be implemented to pay off the debt? Has the USA been functioning as an international “leech” consistent with statements in the Book of Proverbs? Does the Bible say it is wicked to borrow money you do really intend to repay? Furthermore, the Bible is clear that the USA will be taken over (cf. Daniel 11:39) and debt will be a factor per Habakkuk 2:6-8.<\/p>\n

The USA will ultimately not recover from its debt, despite many things appearing to be “normal.”<\/p>\n
