In the latest Trumpet Weekly<\/em>, PCG’s<\/a> Brad Macdonald reported:<\/p>\n

The following is a snippet from a secret memorandum written by high-ranking German officers and distributed among an elite group of German leaders in Bonn and other parts of the world. It is an electrifying picture of current events.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u201cEconomic difficulties will one day plunge the United States down from its present dizzy heights. Such a catastrophe can be brought about through crafty manipulations and through artificially engendered crises. Such maneuvers are routine measures which have already been employed in international power struggle and will be used again and again as long as economic rivals fight for power positions and markets in the world.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u201cIt is quite conceivable that America, weakened by a depression, will one day seek support from a resurrected Germany. Such a prospect would open tremendous possibilities for the future power position of a bloc introducing a new order in the world.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

That was written in 1950. It can be found in T.H. Tetens\u2019 1953 book, Germany Plots With the Kremlin<\/em>. It\u2019s prescience is chilling.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Survey the current global financial crisis and the changes it is precipitating. Economic difficulties [have] plunge[d] the United States down from its present dizzy heights.<\/em> Check. Such a catastrophe [was] brought about through crafty manipulations and through artificially engendered crises. <\/em>Check. America, weakened by a depression, [is seeking] support from a resurrected Germany.<\/em> Check. Such a prospect [is] open[ing] tremendous possibilities for the future power position of a bloc introducing a new order in the world.<\/em> Check.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

With its economic landscape strewn with surging unemployment lines, writhing stocks, and rotting corpses of banks, financial institutions and businesses, it\u2019s hard to deny \u201ceconomic difficulties\u201d have brought America down from its dizzying heights. Similarly, piles of evidence\u2014think Bernie Madoff, Lehman Brothers and liberal bank lending standards\u2014testify to \u201ccrafty manipulation\u201d as a root cause of this crisis.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

What about the notion that \u201cartificially engendered crises\u201d precipitated by foreign forces are also partly to blame for the collapse of the American financial system? British author and historian Sara Moore recently delved into this historically significant, eerily familiar trend. Armed with facts and historical precedent, Moore details in the European Journal how Germany, employing a similar formula to what it used in the 1930s, is craftily manipulating EU economic policy in an effort to undermine the U.S. One fundamental cause of the credit crisis in America, Moore suggests, was Germany\u2019s exploitation of the euro (May 2008).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This interesting argument deserves close scrutiny (January\/February 2009). When the euro first came online in January 1999, the European Central Bank\u00a0 ECB)\u2014headquartered in Frankfurt, patterned after Germany\u2019s Bundesbank and heavily influenced by Germans\u2014ensured interest rates remained at or around 2 percent. This was done, in part, to help stabilize and promote the growth of the German economy. By maintaining low interest rates, Moore says, the German-led ECB caused global investors to flock to higher-yielding U.S. treasuries, distorting money markets and facilitating easy credit in America. The ECB\u2019s policy, Moore says, helped prime American credit markets for rupture.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Now while I do not believe that Germany intentionally artificially caused this crisis (the USA overextending itself militarily, certain politically-motivated blunders, and Americans being unable to stop their combined lust for goods that required borrowing all played major roles), the fact is that I do believe that the European Union wants to be able to be the world’s financial leader.<\/p>\n

The fact that Germany learned the hard way prior to WWII that it should never again try to inflate itself out of a financial crisis (a lesson that USA economists should have learned, but apparently not enough of them have learned it well enough), even to deal with a depression, simply means that the EU may be the de facto<\/em> financial leader of the world quite soon.\u00a0 And that is consistent with biblical prophecies.<\/p>\n

NEW YORK\u00a0(Reuters) – The U.S. unemployment rate would be<\/strong> 19.1 percent<\/strong>, close to the level during the Great Depression, using the methodology that prevailed 80 years ago, according to Shadowstats.com.<\/span><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

According to the official Labor Department figures, the jobless rate jumped to a 25-year high of 8.1 percent in February.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

However, John Williams, from ShadowStats, argues that measurement changes implemented over the years make it impossible to compare the current unemployment rate with that seen during the Great Depression, when unemployment peaked at 25 percent.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

“Such would be my best estimate of a rate that would be comparable to the Great Depression readings,” said Williams of the 19.1 percent reading. <\/span>Still, he noted that the Depression peak itself may have been underestimated because it was restricted to “non-farm” payrolls at a time when agricultural labor still represented more than a quarter of the economy. <\/span>http:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/marketsNews\/idUSN0944970920090309<\/span><\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The truth is that if the USA has some major crop failures AND becomes unable to import food if the world believes that the USA dollar is not worth it, then the situation will be at least as bad as the Great Depression.\u00a0 And that could happen before the Great Tribulation can begin.<\/p>\n

We are in precarious times, but the end is not yet.<\/p>\n
