According to the World Gold Council, Russia has more than doubled its gold reserves in the past five years<\/strong>. Putin has taken advantage of the financial crisis to build the world\u2019s fifth-biggest gold pile in a handful of years, and is buying about half a billion dollars\u2019 worth every month…<\/strong><\/p>\n

Putin\u2019s moves may matter to your finances, because there are two ways to look at gold.<\/p>\n

On the one hand, it\u2019s an investment that by most modern standards seems to make no sense…<\/p>\n

But there\u2019s another way to look at gold: As the most liquid reserve in times of turmoil, or worse.<\/p>\n

The big story of our era is not that the Spanish government is broke, nor is it that Paul Ryan apparently feels the need to embellish his running record. It\u2019s that the United States, which has dominated the world\u2019s economy for several lifetimes, is in relative decline…<\/p>\n

We will soon be the first people in two hundred years to live in a world not dominated by either Pax Americana or Pax Britannica. As I have long written, the decline of the Anglo-powers is upon us and this will not be good for the U.S.A., U.K., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.<\/p>\n

One of the reasons that the price of gold is as high as it is has to do with the continual debasing of the U.S. dollar through federal government deficit spending and programs like “quantitative easing” (a modern way to inflate the money supply).\u00a0 Notice also the following which confirms part of that:<\/p>\n

Gold prices rushed to a six-month peak, copper hit a near\r\n4-month high and oil rose for a third day as investors\r\nspeculated the Federal Reserve will launch a third round of\r\nquantitative easing or bond buying to help the U.S. economic\r\nrecovery...<\/pre>\n

The Bible warns about debasing the currency:<\/p>\n
4 Take away the dross from silver (Proverbs 25:4a).<\/p>\n
25 I will turn My hand against you,
\nAnd thoroughly purge away your dross,
\nAnd take away all your alloy. (Isaiah 1:25)<\/p>\n
22 Your silver has become dross, Your wine mixed with water. (Isaiah 1:22)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Dross is a cheaper metal that is normally placed inside a covering of a precious metal like silver. Governments began to do this thousands of years ago when they had financial problems. Putting dross into silver cheapens currency, just like putting water into wine dilutes the wine\u2019s value. In modern times, government spending in excess of revenues and quantitative easing programs (QE1, QE2, and likely QE3) are a way to dilute the value of currencies. This is not the biblical solution to US economic problems.<\/p>\n
In various forms (including when it turned its silver coins into dross in 1965) the U.S.A. has embraced many ways to devalue its currency.\u00a0 This will not end well for the U.S.A. nor for its British descended allies.<\/p>\n
All need the return of Jesus Christ and the establishment of His Kingdom.<\/p>\n
