COGwriter<\/a><\/p>\n Iran has made a variety of threats against the USA.\u00a0 Now, it is believed that some actual cyber-attacks have been made:<\/p>\n September 21, 2012<\/p><\/blockquote>\n National security officials told NBC News that the continuing cyber attacks this week that slowed the websites of JPMorgan Chase and Bank of America are being carried out by the government of Iran. One of those sources said the claim by hackers that the attacks were prompted by the online video mocking the Prophet Muhammad is just a cover story…<\/p><\/blockquote>\n The attack is described by one source, a former U.S. official familiar with the attacks, as being “significant and ongoing” and looking to cause “functional and significant damage.” Also, one source suggested the attacks were in response to U.S. sanctions on Iranian banks.<\/p>\n Iran’s presumed motivations are the banking boycott that the USA has somewhat imposed upon it, plus the fact that its nuclear-related computers were struck by a malicious computer software program (called STUXNET worm) in 2010 that was apparently developed by Israel and\/or the USA.\u00a0 The fact that the major USA banks are supposed to have strong enough software to resist such attacks shows that the USA has more weaknesses than many realize.<\/p>\n I would add that the fact that many in Iran consider that the USA is the “great Satan,” plus USA and Israeli sabre-rattling against it are also factors for this attack (presuming that Iran is actually behind it).\u00a0 Various leaders in Iran want the USA out of the way (see, for example, Iranian Leader Calls for Vanishing USA and Israel from the Universe).<\/a><\/p>\n But Iran’s words tend to speak louder than its abilities in some areas.<\/p>\n However, the reality is that the cost to the USA and\/or Israel for a regional war involving Iran and\/or Syria will be higher than many in the USA or Israel believe.\u00a0\u00a0 Between terrorist acts, sustained resistance, chemical weapons, biological weapons, emp-type bombs, and\/or even disruptions of the internet, Iran and\/or Syria can inflict significant damage to their enemies.\u00a0 The possible cyber-attacks are just one more way Iran can cause consternation.\u00a0 Yet, the USA and the tiny of nation of Israel would not be “vanished” by Iran or Syria–it will come later, by the King of the North (cf. Daniel 11:39).<\/p>\n Watch!
