Jerusalem <\/em><\/p>\n COGwriter<\/a><\/p>\n Coming off of a victory in the United Nations that the USA and Israel opposed, the Chairman of the Palestinian Authority made some statements of possible prophetic interest:<\/p>\n PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas Sunday promised someday the PA flag would fly over \u201cJerusalem, eternal capital of the state of Palestine.\u201d<\/p>\n Thousands of people greeted Abbas rapturously upon his return from the United Nations, where the General Assembly granted the PLO, representing the PA, upgraded status as a nonmember observer state. \u00a0http:\/\/www.israelnationalnews.com\/News\/News.aspx\/162753#.ULtq5oPAcaA<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Although not all Israelis agree, there is a position and belief in Israel that “Jerusalem is the undivided and eternal capital of Israel” (http:\/\/blogs.timesofisrael.com\/jerusalem-the-divisible\/), so the Palestinian position appears to be a problem.<\/p>\n Is there a solution?<\/p>\n A division, for a while, appears to be coming.<\/p>\n A divided Jerusalem seems to be consistent with the following biblical prophecy:<\/p>\n 2 For I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem; If half the city is Jewish and the other half not, then there would be a reason for only one half the city to go into captivity. The Bible is clear that Jerusalem will be an issue in the end time:<\/p>\n 2 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem. 3 And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it. (Zechariah 12:2-4)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n World events continue to align with Bible prophecy. An apparent peace deal will come (Daniel 9:27), though it may take a war to persuade some of the parties to make the deal, and it may involve the enforced dividing of Jerusalem. Which is something that Israel currently will not accept–but depending on other events (including possibly the outcome of the current USA presidential election), Israel at some point will agree to some type of division (there is also a de facto division there now, so technically Israel would not necessarily have to agree to anything, but likely will).<\/p>\n To me, at least, the events happening in the Middle East make prophetic sense. And we all should be watching.<\/p>\n As Jesus said,<\/p>\n 35 Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming\u2013in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning\u2013 36 lest, coming suddenly, he find you sleeping. 37 And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch! (Mark 13:35-37)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n And the goings on in Israel and the Middle East are certainly areas that He was referring to (cf.
