It appears that the lawmakers in Minnesota may legalize homosexual ‘marriage’<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) \u2014 The national momentum on gay marriage has been limited mostly to the East and West coasts, but it looks like that’s about to change.<\/p>\n

The Minnesota House votes Thursday on legalizing gay marriage, and Gov. Mark Dayton could be signing a bill as early as next week. The Illinois Senate approved it earlier, and supporters think they’ll soon have enough votes in the House. \u00a0http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/nation\/2013\/05\/08\/gay-marriage-minnesota\/2145287\/<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The trend in the USA, Europe, Latin America, and certain other lands has not been good.<\/p>\n

As far as Latin America goes, this was also in the news today:<\/p>\n

SANTIAGO<\/strong> – The month of April brought some very good news for supporters of gay marriage, and one piece of bad news.<\/p>\n

The best news in Latin America came from Uruguay, where the Chamber of Deputies gave same-sex couples the right to marry by the overwhelming majority of 71 to 21, topped off by a momentous speech by Uruguayan President Jose Mujica. The law has since been approved by the Senate, and should enter into force any minute.<\/p>\n

Two days after the success in Uruguay, the same thing happened in New Zealand<\/a>, where the parliament approved gay marriage legislation 77 to 44, making it it the first country in Asia to approve marital equality.<\/p>\n

The bad news came from Colombia, where a law legalizing gay marriage was voted down in the senate 51 to 15 after being approved in committee in December. Supporters have one last recourse: appealing to the Constitutional Court. \u00a0http:\/\/www.worldcrunch.com\/opinion-analysis\/a-loud-clear-call-for-gay-marriage-rights-in-latin-america\/gay-rights-lgbt-homosexual-lesbian\/c7s11702\/#.UYrUpkpJRrQ<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Well, at least the majority in Columbia remain opposed.\u00a0 But for how long?\u00a0 Ecuador and others are leaning more towards homosexual ‘marriage.’<\/p>\n

Homosexual ‘marriage’ is not biblical.\u00a0 Marriage is to be between a man and a woman, husband and wife:<\/p>\n

24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. (Genesis 2:24)<\/p>\n

4 And He answered and said to them, \u201cHave you not read that He who made them at the beginning \u2018made them male and female,\u2019 5 and said, \u2018For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh\u2019? 6 So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.\u201d (Matthew 19:4-6)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Homosexuality, itself,\u00a0 is not something that God does approves of:<\/p>\n

7 as Sodom and Gomorrah<\/strong>, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example<\/strong>, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. (Jude 7)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

6\u2026the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes<\/strong>, condemned them to destruction, making them an example<\/strong> to those who afterward would live ungodly (2 Peter 2:6)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

God had the example of Sodom and Gomorrah recorded in the Bible so that people would realize that promoting homosexuality is not appropriate and is dangerous.<\/p>\n

The Bible also warns that leaders can lead people to err:<\/p>\n

12\u2026Those who lead you cause you to err, And destroy the way of your paths. (Isaiah 3:12)<\/p>\n

16 For the leaders of this people cause them to err, And those who are led by them are destroyed (Isaiah 9:16).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Much of the leadership in New Zealand is contributing to terrible error (as have other leaders; e.g. Obama Administration urges Supreme Court to overturn Defense of Marriage Act<\/a>, Bill Clinton reverses position on DOMA<\/a>, and even Queen allegedly ready to allow \u201cgay rights\u201d<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Notice something else from the Bible:<\/p>\n

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man \u2014 and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.<\/p>\n

24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.<\/p>\n

26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.<\/strong><\/p>\n

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, 30 backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; 32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them<\/strong>. (Romans 1:18-32)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Hopefully, the leaders in Minnesota and elsewhere will believe more in biblical morality and not succumb to the pressures to approve immoral practices. They still have a chance to change before their bill is fully adopted.<\/p>\n

Keeping the Ten Commandments reflects love. Breaking them and\/or condoning those that do is evil. This should be clear to those who believe the God of the Bible.<\/p>\n

More problems are coming to the world as more and more accept homosexual unions.\u00a0 I expect to see more weather-related problems as homosexual unions of various types gain more acceptance by those who do not wish to accept what the Bible teaches about marriage as well as what it teaches about homosexuality.<\/p>\n
