COGwriter<\/a><\/p>\n Taking responsibility for what one consumes is being overlooked by the American Medical Association:<\/p>\n June 19, 2013<\/p>\n The group acknowledges that obesity “[requires] a range of medical interventions to advance … treatment and prevention,” the statement also said.http:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/life-style\/health\/obesity-officially-disease-american-medical-association-rules-article-1.1376796#ixzz2Wh7xqVyn<\/p><\/blockquote>\n While obesity is a multi-factorial problem, considering it as a “disease” like cancer or the flu is an odd, and basically inappropriate, step.<\/p>\n Also, the interventions normally indicated for obesity are not “medical,” though the AMA sometimes acts like just about everything to do with health is “medical.”<\/p>\n The Bible warns about overeating:<\/p>\n 18 \u201cIf a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who will not obey the voice of his father or the voice of his mother, and who, when they have chastened him, will not heed them, 19 then his father and his mother shall take hold of him and bring him out to the elders of his city, to the gate of his city. 20 And they shall say to the elders of his city, \u2018This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious; he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton and a drunkard.\u2019 21 Then all the men of his city shall stone him to death with stones; so you shall put away the evil from among you, and all Israel shall hear and fear. (Deuteronomy 21:18-21)<\/p>\n 20 Do not mix with winebibbers, Or with gluttonous eaters of meat;\u00a0 21 For the drunkard and the glutton will come to poverty (Proverbs 23:20-21)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Yet most Americans, including many of those I speak with, simply do not believe they eat too much.\u00a0 And this includes many overweight ones.<\/p>\n Furthermore, God inspired the prophet Isaiah to write:<\/p>\n 2 Why do you spend money for what is not bread, But Americans do not often eat what is good.\u00a0 And they eat a lot of white bread, which is really not real bread as it has had the wheat germ and other natural components removed.\u00a0 This makes an inferior product which then is sprayed with synthetic B vitamins and other \u201cnutrients\u201d to \u201cfortify\u201d it.\u00a0 If you notice \u201cB vitamins\u201d added to \u201cfortify\u201d refined grain products or in so-called \u201cnatural\u201d vitamin supplements (like thiamin mononitrate, thiamin HCL, folic acid, pantothenic acid, pyridoxine hydrochloride, cyanocobalamin), realize that these are basically petroleum derivatives and are not the same form of vitamins that are actually found in real, natural, food.<\/p>\n But most Americans consume the synthetics and refined grains.\u00a0 They also consume a bunch of non-foods genetically-modified organisms.\u00a0 These are not really foods and may contribute to a variety of health concerns.<\/p>\n Again, while society, biology, and modern food processing play a role, the reality is that individual responsibility needs to be assigned a bigger role than the AMA now seems to have decided.<\/p>\n Some articles of possibly related interest may include:<\/em><\/p>\n Obesity and Prophecy<\/a> Does the Bible warn about the consequences of being obese?
