COGwriter<\/a><\/p>\n Around 600 have reportedly been killed by a monsoon in Northern India:<\/p>\n June 22, 2013<\/p>\n Officials in India say flash floods and landslides triggered by a monsoon in the north have killed nearly 600 people and left tens of thousands stranded or missing.<\/p>\n Authorities Saturday said the heavy rainfall is expected to continue in the coming days as rescuers work to save the more than 50,000 people stranded in the Himalayan state of Uttarakhand.<\/p>\n Raging waters have swept away entire villages.<\/p>\n Rescue workers have saved more than 30,000 people during the past five days. Some of the dozens impacted by the flooding include pilgrims heading to a Hindi religious site and a group of tourists rescued by helicopter.<\/p>\n India is accustomed to flooding from the monsoon rain, but this year the downpours arrived a week ahead of schedule, sending people scrambling for safe ground away from the swelling rivers.\u00a0http:\/\/www.voanews.com\/content\/india-monsoon-floods-kill-nearly-600\/1687102.html<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n My prayers are with those affected by the monsoons and other recent severe weather.<\/p>\n We continue to see odd weather patterns.\u00a0 This is something I predicted in a book I wrote about four years ago:<\/p>\n The Bible shows that God uses weather to get people’s attention. Sometimes to punish, sometimes to lead to repentance, and other times to consider that God, not humankind, is in control. God does use weather to get peoples’ attention:<\/p>\n 10 “Because, indeed, because they have seduced My people, saying, ‘Peace!’ when there is no peace \u2014 and one builds a wall, and they plaster it with untempered mortar \u2014 11 say to those who plaster it with untempered mortar, that it will fall. There will be flooding rain, and you, O great hailstones, shall fall; and a stormy wind shall tear it down. 12 Surely, when the wall has fallen, will it not be said to you, ‘Where is the mortar with which you plastered it?'” 13 Therefore thus says the Lord God: “I will cause a stormy wind to break forth in My fury; and there shall be a flooding rain in My anger, and great hailstones in fury to consume it. 14 So I will break down the wall you have plastered with untempered mortar, and bring it down to the ground, so that its foundation will be uncovered; it will fall, and you shall be consumed in the midst of it. Then you shall know that I am the Lord. (Ezekiel 13:10-14)<\/p>\n 3 He sends it forth under the whole heaven, His lightning to the ends of the earth. 4 After it a voice roars; He thunders with His majestic voice, And He does not restrain them when His voice is heard. 5 God thunders marvelously with His voice; He does great things which we cannot comprehend. 6 For He says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth’; Likewise to the gentle rain and the heavy rain of His strength. 7 He seals the hand of every man, That all men may know His work. 8 The beasts go into dens, And remain in their lairs. 9 From the chamber of the south comes the whirlwind, And cold from the scattering winds of the north. 10 By the breath of God ice is given, And the broad waters are frozen. 11 Also with moisture He saturates the thick clouds; He scatters His bright clouds. 12 And they swirl about, being turned by His guidance, That they may do whatever He commands them On the face of the whole earth. 13 He causes it to come, Whether for correction, Or for His land, Or for mercy.
