COGwriter<\/a><\/p>\n There are a variety of additional disturbing reports from the improperly named Philadelphia Church of God<\/a> (PCG).<\/p>\n The reports are a bit difficult to confirm the way I prefer.\u00a0 And the last time I asked a representative from PCG about something, he did not respond.\u00a0 Furthermore, PCG has certain policies that make the type of verifications that I normally prefer difficult.<\/p>\n The following are excerpts from emails I received from a former PCG member who still has at least one friend in PCG:<\/p>\n Did you know that Flurry made a announcement in The Church that no one could have\u00a0 any children any more .As He said it\u2019s time to go, any moment, and He wants all the people to tell \u00a0all of their familys\u2026 that are in some of what He calls \u201cOff Shoots\u201d He wants them all back..?<\/p>\n …a\u00a0 CD \u00a0just was distributed in all Churches, of the [PCG] \u201cof course.\u201d.. They are to tell ALL , The family members and \u201call others\u201d that left and in \u201cTHE OFF SHOOTS\u201d. \u00a0\u00a0\u201cThat it is time\u201d for all to return to \u201cThe True Church\u201d, as it\u2019s time to go very soon now.. They are not allowed to have anymore children, if they do it\u2019s possible they might be put out and unable to go to the Place of Saftey\u2026 This is what I heard,\u00a0 one could never have the proof as He has all the CD\u2019s \u00a0destroyed after hearing them.. \u00a0[ Look on Exit and Support ].. for more details.. Flurry, forbids any \u201cCD\u201dS going out\u201d.. If he finds some one tell anyone anything \u201cThere marked\u201d…<\/p>\n I also hear that He told His congregation that they are expected to have \u201cofferings\u201d \u201cevery day\u201d at The Feast.. INSTEAD OF THE FIRST AND LAST DAY.. Can\u2019t you just imagine what a hard ship it would be, for people that have big familys, that can barely afford to go in the first place.. \u00a0He has told every one on the out side.. That THE TEMPLE is mostly payed for and they are doing very well.. But in secret He is begging the members for more money saying the work is really down.. \u00a0There are also mention of more building being built.. For what I wonder\u2026?… He has only a few students there.. \u00a0also TURGEN , is talking about buying Him a jet.. [no anouncement was made ] There just throwing around the idea just now.. \u00a0If the end is near, why is He still building..?.. I thought MR. Armstrong said get the people ready., not get rid of them ..as He is doing. He will put you out for the slightest thing… …..He is putting no money into getting any work out.. \u00a0He is only building on at His compound.. and putting it on the backs of those poor people that can barely make it now\u2026.With all Obama has done \u00a0no one can afford such luxury as Flurry expects…<\/p><\/blockquote>\n While I have not listened to Gerald Flurry’s CD nor do I have additional information on whether or not he will ask for offerings on each of the Days of the Feast of Tabernacles, Gerald Flurry does have a history of wanting to build things for show and acquire artifacts to the point that sometimes seems to be idolatrous (e.g. PCG Added Another Relic<\/a>).\u00a0 The time to flee is not imminent and the Great Tribulation will not begin before 2017.<\/p>\n As far as this being the time for all to reunify and come with him and PCG now, this is similar to repeated rantings of RCG’s<\/a> David Pack who expects this will happen on\/by August 30, 2013 for his group (for details see\u00a0 Why Not the Restored Church of God?<\/a> and many items from the June 2013 posts in News of Those Once Affiliated with GCG<\/a>).<\/p>\n What about this issue about becoming pregnant?<\/p>\n Jesus told of a time when being pregnant would be a problem:<\/p>\n 15<\/sup> “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), 16<\/sup> then let those who are in Judea\u00a0flee to the mountains. 17<\/sup> Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. 18<\/sup> And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. 19<\/sup> But woe to those who are pregnant\u00a0and to those who are nursing babies in those days! 20<\/sup> And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath.<\/p>\n 21<\/sup> For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22<\/sup>And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved<\/strong>; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened (Matthew 24:15-22).<\/p>\n As far as when the time will come to not get pregnant, I actually wrote about this in my book 2012 and the Rise of the Secret Sect<\/a> as follows:<\/p>\n A year or two after this Daniel 9:27 deal is made, women may wish to be careful about becoming pregnant, as Jesus\u00a0warned that the time right at the beginning of the Great Tribulation\u00a0would be hard on those who are pregnant or nursing (Matthew 24:19).<\/p>\n Notice that Jesus said it would be a problem being pregnant when it is time to flee and that this fleeing happens after the time when the abomination of desolation is standing in the holy place (Matthew 24:15), which is also discussed in Daniel 11:31.\u00a0 But Daniel 11:31 does not happen until three and one half years after the deal in Daniel 9:27 is made.\u00a0 Here are fuller quotes from Daniel:<\/p>\n 26b And the people of the prince who is to come 27 Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; 31 And forces shall be mustered by him, and they shall defile the sanctuary fortress; then they shall take away the daily sacrifices, and place there the abomination of desolation. (Daniel 11:31)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n The seven year (‘one week’) covenant has not been confirmed, hence the Great Tribulation cannot happen for at least 3 1\/2 years.\u00a0 The ‘him’ in Daniel 11:31 is the final King of the North (Daniel 11:40) and was called a ‘prince’ when he first confirms the seven year deal–which simply has not yet happened.<\/p>\n Presuming that the reports are right that Gerald Flurry made the announcement in the past few weeks to stop having children, his timing, in my view at least, is premature.\u00a0 Gerald Flurry claims to be a prophet, but he is not a true prophet of God.\u00a0 He needs to rely more on the Bible and less on his own imaginations.<\/p>\n Some articles of possibly related interest may include the following:<\/em><\/p>\n Teachings Unique to the Philadelphia Church of God<\/a> Simply calling oneself ‘Philadelphia’ does not make one so (see Revelation 3:7-9), nor does Gerald Flurry calling himself “that prophet” or a variety of other titles make it so.
