A rare ‘wrong way’ heat wave has hit the parts of the USA:<\/p>\n

July 19, 2013<\/p>\n

Americans can expect another unbearably hot day Friday, from the East Coast to the Midwest, with the heat index (which factors in humidity) expected to top 100 degrees in many areas.<\/p>\n

The National Weather Service said heat advisories and warnings will remain in effect from the Midwest and Ohio River Valley through the Northeast, a day after triple-digit heat index numbers were logged across many Northeastern states…<\/p>\n

Those looking for relief for triple-digit heat index numbers won’t find it today. In New York City yesterday, where temperatures hit a record 100 degrees, one woman told CBS News, “It’s miserable. It feels like I’m living inside of a dog’s mouth.”<\/p>\n

But what is making this week’s oppressively hot weather so unusual is its direction. It’s moving backward across America, something that meteorologists say rarely happens.<\/p>\n

Normally U.S. weather systems move west-to-east. The western Atlantic high pressure system behind the hot dry weather started moving east-to-west last week, and by Tuesday was centered over lower Michigan, said Jon Gottschalck, the operations chief at the National Weather Service’s prediction branch.<\/p>\n

“It’s definitely unusual and going the wrong way,” Gottschalck said Thursday. “This is pretty rare.”\u00a0 http:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/8301-201_162-57594515\/wrong-way-heat-wave-broils-u.s\/<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Could the extreme weather be at all related to the growing legal acceptance of homosexual marriage and other abominations in the USA?<\/p>\n

What does the Bible teach?<\/p>\n

The Bible, in several places, ties weather issues to Sodom and Gomorrah, cities that were destroyed for sins such as their sexual immorality:<\/p>\n

7 as Sodom and Gomorrah<\/strong>, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example<\/strong>, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. (Jude 7)<\/p>\n

6\u2026the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes<\/strong>, condemned them to destruction, making them an example<\/strong> to those who afterward would live ungodly (2 Peter 2:6)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Notice the following about heat:<\/p>\n

23 ‘The whole land is brimstone, salt, and burning; it is not sown, nor does it bear, nor does any grass grow there, like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah<\/strong>, Admah, and Zeboiim, which the Lord overthrew in His anger and His wrath.’ 24 All nations would say, ‘Why has the Lord done so to this land? What does the heat of this great anger mean?’ 25 Then people would say: ‘Because they have forsaken the covenant of the Lord God of their fathers…(Deuteronomy 29:23-25)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Notice also the following scriptures from the Book of Amos:<\/p>\n

7 “I also withheld rain from you,
\nWhen there were still three months to the harvest.
\nI made it rain on one city,
\nI withheld rain from another city.
\nOne part was rained upon,
\nAnd where it did not rain the part withered.
\n8 So two or three cities wandered to another city to drink water,
\nBut they were not satisfied;
\nYet you have not returned to Me,”
\nSays the Lord.<\/p>\n

“I blasted you with blight and mildew. (Amos 4:7-9)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Will weather problems cause people to turn to God? Or will they be determined to continue to turn further away from biblical morality?<\/p>\n

People who advocate acceptance of homosexuality as harmless may also wish to notice something else that God had the prophets Amos and Jeremiah write would happen some time after the drought and weather problems:<\/p>\n

11 “I overthrew some of you,
\nAs God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah,
\nAnd you were like a firebrand plucked from the burning;
\nYet you have not returned to Me,”
\nSays the Lord.<\/p>\n

12 “Therefore thus will I do to you, O Israel;
\nBecause I will do this to you,
\nPrepare to meet your God, O Israel!” (Amos 4:11-12)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

38 A drought is against her waters, and they will be dried up. For it is the land of carved images, And they are insane with their idols. 39 “Therefore the wild desert beasts shall dwell there with the jackals, And the ostriches shall dwell in it. It shall be inhabited no more forever, Nor shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation. 40 As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah And their neighbors,” says the Lord, “So no one shall reside there, Nor son of man dwell in it. (Jeremiah 50:38-40)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

So, both Amos and Jeremiah tied the warning of a drought in with later being over thrown like Sodom and Gomorrah–and remember the Bible says that Sodom and Gomorrah were overthrown as examples for those who would go after “strange flesh” (2 Peter 2:6).<\/p>\n

God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah for their pride and acceptance of homosexuality (see also The Bible Condemns Homosexuality<\/a>). If the Anglo-nations do not repent of the direction that they are going (see Royal Assent given, England and Wales to have homosexual \u2018marriage\u2019 <\/a>and New Zealand having worse drought in 30 years while it tries to legalize \u2018same-sex\u2019 marriage. What did Amos write?<\/a> and After DOMA overturned, Western USA hit with massive heat wave: any connection?<\/a>), they will be overthrown relatively soon. The “time of Jacob’s trouble” (Jeremiah 30:7) is coming!<\/p>\n

People who profess to believe the Bible need to take a stand against those who advocate homosexuality and other behaviors that the Bible condemns.<\/p>\n

The sorrows and troubles are just beginning (Matthew 24:4-8) and will get much worse (Matthew 24:21-22). Hopefully, people will wake up.<\/p>\n
