The world will end in 2060, according to Newton<\/span><\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n

Evening Standard<\/strong> (UK) – June 19, 2007<\/span><\/p>\n

His famously analytical mind worked out the laws of gravity and unravelled the motion of the planets. <\/span> <\/span>And when it came to predicting the end of the world, Sir Isaac Newton<\/strong> was just as precise. <\/span><\/p>\n

He believed the Apocalypse would come in 2060 \u2013 exactly 1,260 years after the foundation of the Holy Roman Empire, according to a recently published letter.<\/span><\/p>\n

…But he confidently stated in the letter that the Bible proved the world would end in 2060, adding: “It may end later, but I see no reason for its ending sooner.”<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Continuing in a decidedly sniffy tone, he wrote: “This I mention not to assert when the time of the end shall be, but to put a stop to the rash conjectures of fanciful men who are frequently predicting the time of the end, and by doing so bring the sacred prophesies into discredit as often as their predictions fail.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Those in the COGs tend to believe that the recreated world that began\u00a0after Genesis 1:1 would last 6,000 years after either Adam’s creation or his sin.\u00a0 The 6,000 years\u00a0would end by the early 21st century.\u00a0 This used to also be like a view within Catholicism. <\/em><\/p>\n

Notice that one Pope in the 20th Century blessed a book that stated:<\/em><\/p>\n

…the time of the First Resurrection will end…It is the time when the Seventh Millennium will set in, and will be the day of Sabbath in the plan of creation…It has been the common opinion among Jews, Gentiles, and Latin and Greek Christians, that the present evil world will last no more than 6,000 years…Christians and Jews, from the beginning of Christianity, and before, have taught that 6,000 years after the creation of Adam and Eve, the consummation will occur. The period after the consummation is to be the seventh day of creation–the Sabbath…St. Jerome said, “It is a common belief that the world will last 6,000 years.”<\/p>\n

…I believe that as the last days come to an end so will the sixth day of creation (Culligan E. The Last World War and the End of Time. The book was blessed by Pope Paul VI, 1966. TAN Books, Rockford (IL), pp. 113-115).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Yet the above view is strongly condemned by the Roman Catholic Church! <\/em><\/p>\n
