Since the late 1940s, American men have been leaving the workforce, disappearing in a steady decline that picked up speed during the Great Recession. After World War II, about 87 percent of adult men held jobs or were looking for work. As of July, that had slipped to 69.3 percent.<\/p>\n

Even as the economy recovers and unemployment eases, men still aren’t returning to the workforce<\/a>. The male labor force participation rate is almost three percentage points below where it was in 2009, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis…when it comes to “missing workers,” or potential workers who are neither working nor actively seeking work because of weak job opportunities, men between 25 to 54 years old are the biggest slice of the pie, according to an EPI study. That group has 1.85 million “missing” workers, compared with 1.38 million women in the same age range.Declining job quality doesn’t provide an entirely satisfactory answer, Shierholz noted. During the 1960s and 1970s, when job quality was improving, men’s participation in the labor market still continued to dip, she said…<\/p>\n

There’s also the growing education gap, with women receiving the lion’s share of bachelor’s degrees during the past two decades. That has allowed women to fit into a labor market with more rigorous demands, Massachusetts Institute of Technology economist David Autor told NPR.<\/p>\n

“You might say, ‘Why haven’t men responded more effectively, why haven’t they educated better, more, why haven’t they moved into higher-wage occupations?’ ” Autor told the site. “And that is less clear.” \u00a0http:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/where-have-all-the-working-men-gone\/<\/a><\/p>\n

There’s a long, unfolding story about work in America that often gets overlooked. It’s the story of men opting out of work altogether. These are men who have vanished from the labor force \u2014 men who don’t have a job and aren’t looking for one.<\/p>\n

To describe this historic development with the context it deserves, we start with the American economy after World War II. It was firing on all cylinders, dominant globally, confident and dynamic. It was a great time to be an American man in the workplace. Hiring was strong for white-collar jobs and factory work. Industries like autos, aviation and steel were booming.<\/p>\n

If you were a man in the 1950s, you had a job, says Nicholas Eberstadt, an economist with the American Enterprise Institute, a right-leaning think tank. And if you lost it, you started looking for another one.<\/p>\n

“If you weren’t in the Army and you weren’t in jail, you were very, very likely working, and there was probably a good reason for why you were not seeking work and not working if that was the case,” Eberstadt says.<\/p>\n

But by the 1960s, that started to change. Men, slowly but surely, began leaving the workforce. If they couldn’t find jobs, some simply stopped looking. And ever since, more and more men have been opting out of work. …<\/p>\n

And with so many men in the prime of life missing from the workforce, it can’t help but take a toll on the economy, Eberstadt says.<\/p>\n

“The country is going to be less rich. They’re going to be less rich. Growth is going to be slower. The trend for male participation in the workforce of the USA is not good.\u00a0 This has negative economic and other consequences.<\/p>\n

While specific reasons vary, it may be consistent with the following prophecy:<\/p>\n

The increased acceptance of the homosexual agenda, celebrity & other pornography, and the legalization of abortion, in my view, are some of the reasons that have contributed to the decline of male participation in the USA workforce.<\/p>\n

Others will have other views, yet consider that since abortion started to become legal in the USA, that real wages have essentially stagnated and debt has risen.<\/p>\n

Between 1967 and 1973 one-third of the states liberalized or repealed their criminal abortion laws. However, the right to have an abortion in all states was only made available to American women in 1973 when the Supreme Court struck down the remaining restrictive state laws with its ruling in Roe v. Realize that since States began to “liberalize” or repeal anti-abortion laws, the economic situation in the USA began to change (bolding<\/strong> and italics<\/em> in source):<\/p>\n

After World War II until 1970, the United States was a creditor nation lending money to other countries. As a creditor nation<\/strong>, other countries owed more money to the United States than the United States owed to foreign countries<\/em>.<\/p>\n

After 1970, the United States became a net debtor nation. As a debtor nation<\/strong>, the United States owes more money to foreign countiress than the foreign countries owe the United States<\/em>. It should be pointed out that although others believe that the line from an overall creditor to debtor nation happened in the 1980s (as opposed to annually which began around 1971), the process began earlier:<\/p>\n

In real terms, as mentioned above, US growth in the 21st century seems to have fallen back to medieval levels. Why?…Because the economy failed to produce real growth. The USA has problems, but not its leaders do not know what really needs to be done.<\/p>\n

Which is?<\/p>\n

Repentance.<\/p>\n

Yet, that is not likely to happen on a national scale, destruction is per Daniel 11:39 and Habakkuk 2:6-8.\u00a0 However, you can do that personally.<\/p>\n

The only real solution for the USA will be the Kingdom of God<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
