PARIS\u2014France\u2019s President Francois Hollande Tuesday denounced the stabbing death of two police officials outside Paris, as the country hosts the Euro 2016 football championship. The suspect claimed allegiance to the Islamic State group and had a record of radicalism.<\/p>\n

Speaking at an international meeting in Paris Tuesday, French President Francois Hollande called the murders of two police officials just hours before as incontestably a terrorist act. \u00a0http:\/\/www.voanews.com\/content\/policeman-partner-stabbed-to-death-near-paris\/3374984.html<\/a><\/p>\n

June 14, 2016With losses mounting in Iraq, Syria and even Libya, IS has become increasing desperate \u201cto grab headlines and stoke fear,\u201d the official said, all in an attempt to mask its inability to hold on to territory as a variety of forces with U.S. and coalition backing close in.<\/p>\n

\u201cISIL is unable to respond,\u201d the official added. \u201cSo it is instead lashing out.\u201d<\/p>\n

The tactic does not seem to be playing well with would-be recruits, who at one point were flocking to IS at the rate of 1,000 a month.<\/p>\n

U.S. intelligence and military officials say in recent months the flow has slowed to a trickle, with no signs of speeding up.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf the goal of Islamic State is to reverse its losses in Iraq, in Syria, to really change any of the main organization dynamics which really seem to be going south for this group, then attacks like these will be completely insignificant,\u201d said Max Abrahms, a terrorism theorist at Northeastern University and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.<\/p>\n

\u201cForeign fighters were attracted to the group because they wanted to side with a stronger force,\u201d he said. \u201cHad [the Orlando terror attack] happened two years ago, when Islamic State was making territorial gains, I think more foreign fighters would be inclined to join up with the group.\u201d<\/p>\n

The U.S.-led coalition fighting the Islamic State said Tuesday it could not confirm\u00a0reports that Islamic State leader\u00a0Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi\u00a0had been killed in a U.S. airstrike.<\/p>\n

Army Col. Chris Garver, the top spokesman for the coalition\u00a0in Iraq, told USA TODAY he was aware of the reports from the Islamic news agency\u00a0AlhlulBayt and other sources. Garver said\u00a0that, if true, Baghdadi’s death would be welcome news but would not signal the end of the fight.<\/p>\n

Even though the Bible warns about the type of caliphate that Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi wants (cf. Daniel 11:40-43; Ezekiel 30:1-8), I have repeatedly warned that Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi would NOT be the final King of the South<\/a> of biblical prophecy.<\/p>\n

The incidents in Paris and Brussels in the past year or two, combined with the Orlando and San Bernadino killings in the USA, has gotten the international community in a position that it will not put up with him for long.<\/p>\n

If Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is still alive, it is likely that the USA will step up bombing, etc. to deal with him and his deranged supporters.<\/p>\n
