Officially the talk at this week’s NATO summit in Warsaw was all about deterring a resurgent Russia, supporting Ukraine and Afghanistan, and protecting Baltic NATO members. But in the corridors, there was only one dominant anxiety – Brexit.<\/p>\n

Britain’s referendum vote to leave the European Union has triggered uncertainty across the Atlantic and around the continent, which spilled over at the NATO event. Big time.<\/p>\n

“It is probably not an exaggeration to say there is almost no other subject on the table when I get together with my colleagues,” Britain’s Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond said of a Friday night dinner with his NATO counterparts.<\/p>\n

“We are at a NATO meeting but most of the discussions have not been about NATO issues, they have been about the outcome of the referendum and the consequences.”<\/p>\n

Outgoing Prime Minister David Cameron, greeted with more sympathy than reproach over the result which prompted him to resign, took every opportunity to reassure allies that Britain would remain fully committed to European and international security even though it was leaving the EU.<\/p>\n

Indeed NATO officials said the British, who have Europe’s biggest defence budget, seemed at pains to compensate for Brexit by pledging more commitments to NATO operations.<\/p>\n

U.S. President Barack Obama was keen to ensure Washington’s closest ally in Europe is not sidelined or punished by European partners as a result of a vote that he had warned against.\u00a0http:\/\/in.reuters.com\/article\/britain-eu-nato-idINKCN0ZP0CW<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Officially, NATO spent time attempting to deal with perceived threats from Russia at its summit, while unofficially the Brexit vote for the United Kingdom to leave the European Union was a major topic of concern.<\/p>\n

Basically, as the above also indicates, the UK plans to remain part of NATO. Here is an article posted a couple of days ago by Kim Darroch, the British ambassador to the\u00a0U.S.:<\/p>\n

Rest Assured, UK Remains Committed to\u00a0NATO<\/strong><\/p>\n

The UK will continue to be a strong and reliable ally, particularly in NATO. …<\/p>\n

Just over a week ago, the British people, in one of the largest democratic exercises in our history, made a clear and robust decision to leave the European Union. This has prompted some to question the United Kingdom\u2019s role in the world. However, the UK remains a great country<\/strong>. We will always be capable of thriving and prospering on the global stage. Our voice will always be prominent and we will continue to be a strong and reliable ally, particularly in\u00a0NATO.<\/p>\n

The UK has the world\u2019s fifth-largest defense budget. We are \u2013 and will continue to be \u2013 leading members of NATO, the G7, G20, and the Commonwealth, and permanent members of the UN Security Council . . .<\/p>\n

As leading members of NATO, we have always set the global standard for partnership forged by a mutual history of friendship and military cooperation. These are the values that despite the ocean between us bring us ever closer together and will continue to do so for generations to\u00a0come. http:\/\/www.defenseone.com\/ideas\/2016\/07\/despite-brexit-nato-remains\/129732\/<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

While I do not doubt that the UK intends to be part of NATO, I do not believe that this should be a cause of assured rest.\u00a0 For decades, I have wondered if it could end up being a trap.<\/p>\n

While some prophecy watchers have improperly concluded that Russia is the prophesied \u201cking of the North<\/a>\u201d of Daniel 11, thus they have tended to support a strong NATO, the biblical reality is that Russia is NOT biblically the power that is prophesied to takeover the USA and the UK.<\/p>\n

Continental Europe, much of which is currently part of NATO, is prophesied to do that (cf. Daniel 11:39).<\/p>\n

While various people will claim that the Europeans are the friends and allies of America and Britain, the Bible has the following warning:<\/p>\n

1 How lonely sits the city
\nThat was full of people!
\nHow like a widow is she,
\nWho was great among the nations<\/strong>!
\nThe princess among the provinces
\nHas become a slave!<\/p>\n

2 She weeps bitterly in the night,
\nHer tears are on her cheeks;
\nAmong all her lovers
\nShe has none to comfort her.
\nAll her friends have dealt treacherously with her;
\nThey have become her enemies. (Lamentations 1:1-2)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

That passage in Lamentations has long brought to my mind an attack against the USA by its European allies in NATO. The USA and Great Britain (including its Anglo-Commonwealth members, like Australia and Canada) were \u201cgreat among the nations\u201d and this was basically prophesied to Abraham’s descendants (see Genesis 12:1-2; see also Anglo – America in Prophecy & the Lost Tribes of Israel<\/a>).\u00a0 The Bible is clear that betrayal is coming from allies, national FRIENDS! And the US and UK do not consider Russia to be a friend.<\/p>\n

It has long been my view that the USA and\/or UK may be attacked under the guise of some type of NATO training exercise. NATO gives the Europeans cover for publicly preparing for a military event, while being able to publicly state that the preparation is only part of an exercise to assist the USA, UK, and Canada (who is also a member of NATO).<\/p>\n

The Germans have historically used the element of surprise to gain military advantage and that is what I expect based upon various biblical prophecies. Notice one:<\/p>\n

3 For when they say, \u201cPeace and safety!\u201d then sudden destruction comes (1 Thessalonians 5:3)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Furthermore, Europe has control over some of the USA\u2019s nuclear arsenal and has an often overlooked nuclear capability (Can Europe really nuke the USA and UK?<\/a>).\u00a0 Europe also has been working on a new satellite \u2018GPS\u2019 communications\u2019 system called Galileo that the USA announced six years ago that it will rely on for part of its (the USA\u2019s) military defense (see USA GPS and EU Galileo linking was expected<\/a>).\u00a0 This will give the Europeans a unique ability to cause a blitzkrieg type war, possibly involving nuclear weapons, against the USA that it will not be prepared for.\u00a0 One that will result in prophesied sudden destruction!<\/p>\n

But what about the Brexit? The UK has decided it would happen:<\/p>\n

Government REJECTS petition calling for second Brexit referendum<\/strong><\/p>\n

PM David Cameron has formally rejected a second Brexit referendum despite an official petition which received more than 4.1 million signatures.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The petition, which was started by a Brexit supporter William Oliver Healey, urged a re-run in case there was a narrow Remain victory.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

However, the Government rejected the petition claiming it was now time to exit the EU and ‘ensure the best possible outcome for the British people’. <\/span>http:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-3682084\/Government-REJECTS-petition-calling-second-Brexit-referendum-signed-four-million-people.html#ixzz4DvdiJN8a<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

So, despite complaints, Brexit looks like it will happen.<\/p>\n

The Brexit will get many parts of NATO to pledge to keep the organization going and to strengthen it.\u00a0 The UK did NOT vote to leave NATO, only the European Union.\u00a0 The two are not the same. NATO is mainly supported by the USA, and the UK does not want to distance itself from the USA militarily.\u00a0 But relying on the USA and NATO will NOT save the UK.<\/p>\n

NATO is not what the world needs.\u00a0 NATO likely will be a trap.<\/p>\n

What is really needed is the return of Jesus Christ and the establishment of the Kingdom of God<\/a>.<\/p>\n
