There have been several items this weekend related to the group calling itself the Islamic State (also known as ISIL or ISIS):<\/p>\n

KABUL: Militants linked to ISIS have released photos that purport to show weapons and equipment that belonged to American soldiers and were captured by the group in eastern Afghanistan.<\/p>\n

So, the Islamic State has once again captured USA weapons. It was the capturing of USA weapon in Iraq a couple of years ago that seemed to greatly propel the rise of the Islamic State.<\/p>\n

The Islamic State has claimed to be behind a machete attack in Belgium:<\/p>\n

BRUSSELS (AP) — The Islamic State group has claimed responsibility for Saturday’s machete attack in Belgium.<\/p>\n

A statement by the IS-affiliated Aamaq News Agency, posted Sunday on an IS-linked Twitter account, says the attack was carried out by one of the Islamic State group’s “soldiers.”<\/p>\n

The statement says the attack on two policewomen in the city of Charleroi was in response to the “Crusader coalition’s” campaign against IS and its self-declared caliphate in Iraq and Syria.\u00a0http:\/\/hosted.ap.org\/dynamic\/stories\/E\/EU_BELGIUM_MACHETE_ATTACK?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2016-08-07-10-33-20<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Let me add\u00a0 here that the Islamic State has also claimed that it needs NO REASON to terrorize as long as its targets have not accepted its version of Islam (see Islamic State claims it is soon to launch a major attack and explains why it hates the West<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Attacking policewomen with machetes is horrible, but sadly the Islamic State seems happy to be of their father, Satan the devil, who was a murderer from the beginning according to Jesus (John 8:44).<\/p>\n

American Authorities Fear Terror Networks Already in US<\/h2>\n

fter years of undercover work, the U.S. is starting to pull back the veil on what appear to be loose-knit, perhaps deeply rooted networks of would-be terrorists who support each other even as many prepare to act alone.<\/p>\n

Heightening the concern, these complex webs of connections and support seem to span several years and often cut across the ideological lines that delineate one terror group from another.<\/p>\n

\u201cIncreasingly, the FBI\u2019s had a lot of these,\u201d according to a law enforcement official familiar with one of the more recent cases. \u201cI think it is going on nationally.\u201d<\/p>\n

The official, speaking to VOA on condition of anonymity, also said it was clear that \u201ca lot of this predated ISIL,\u201d using an acronym for the Islamic State terror group.<\/p>\n

‘Disrupting networks’<\/strong><\/p>\n

Concern has reached all the way to the White House. After a meeting with national security officials late Thursday at the Pentagon, President Barack Obama said, \u201cIt\u2019s conceivable that there are some networks here [in the U.S.] that could be activated.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have to do a better job of disrupting networks,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Yet former counterterror officials warn that doing so promises to be difficult, because what holds these networks together cannot be undone simply by trying to dismantle a single terror group.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe differences between al-Nusra and ISIS [Islamic State] and al-Qaida and al-Shabab, for the regular people, it\u2019s a distinction without a difference,\u201d said Seamus Hughes, deputy director of George Washington University’s Program on Extremism. \u201cWhat\u2019s really underlying it is the ideological underpinnings that drive these people.\u201d<\/p>\n

In many cases, researchers say, for the members of these groups, it comes down to a willingness to embrace violence to fill holes or gaps in their lives.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf ISIS is eliminated tomorrow and moves on, there are going to be other groups that pop up, and these individuals are already primed,\u201d said Hughes, who previously worked at the National Counterterrorism Center. \u201cThey\u2019ll latch onto the next foreign terrorist organization.\u201d …<\/p>\n

\u201cThe networks are definitely broader, they\u2019re definitely thicker and they\u2019re definitely more interconnected than we\u2019ve ever seen before,\u201d Gartenstein-Ross said.<\/p>\n

Another concern stemming from the arrests of Nicholas Young and Erick Jamal Henderson is that despite arrests, disruptions and the watchful eye of law enforcement, the loose-knit terror networks seem to be able to sustain themselves \u2014 and, in some cases, even outlive the terror groups that helped spark their creation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe adaptability of the threat moves faster than the state can keep up with it,\u201d cautioned Mubin Shaikh, an expert who has worked with the Canadian Security Intelligence Service.\u00a0http:\/\/www.voanews.com\/content\/american-authorities-fear-terror-networks-already-in-united-states\/3453890.html<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Some are part of the Islamic State, some will claim to be part of the Islamic State, and some will be independent or related to some other terrorist group. Yet, the reality is that there are operatives in the USA committed to causing terrorism. And, since Canada and the USA have both been taking in Muslim refugees, Canada is not immune.<\/p>\n

The Islamic State has already made various threats to the USA. Here is something from a few months ago:<\/p>\n

Some 3,000 New York City-area residents, most of them private citizens with no government ties, were targeted in an Islamic State<\/a>“hit list,” law enforcement said.The list, intended as a threat, contains as many as 3,600 names. It includes some employees with the State Department and Homeland Security, but mostly contains personal information from private citizens. It was posted on site accessible<\/a> to only IS supporters and is being considered a scare campaign from the IS-related group Caliphate Cyber United.<\/p>\n

Law enforcement authorities said there is no specific threat to any one person or group. The FBI and New York Police Department plan to visit the homes of those targeted. The FBI said it would not comment on the incident specifically, but “the FBI routinely notifies individuals and organizations of information collected during the course of an investigation that may be perceived as potentially threatening in nature.”<\/p>\n

“Potential threats may relate to individuals, institutions or organizations and are shared in order to sensitize potential victims to the observed threat, and to assist them in taking proper steps to ensure their safety,” FBI spokeswoman Carol Cratty said. http:\/\/www.upi.com\/Top_News\/US\/2016\/04\/29\/Islamic-State-linked-hackers-target-thousands-of-New-Yorkers\/1061461945640\/<\/a><\/p>\n

A group of hackers linked to Islamic State has posted online a list of thousands of New York residents and urged followers of the militant group to target them, according to a source with knowledge of the matter.<\/p>\n

Federal agents and New York City police officers have been contacting the individuals on the list to inform them of the posting, but the source said law enforcement does not believe there is any credible threat. http:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/us-new-york-islamic-state-idUSKCN0XQ2AC<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\n

The Islamic State continues to kill and terrorize, despite U.S. and other efforts to try to thwart it. The fact the names and personal information was posted and the FBI wants to contact all those listed suggests that there this is a real threat, even if the Islamic State does not have a specific plan on how to kill them. Even this release was an act of terror as I am fairly sure many of the people listed as well as their families felt terrorized by the release.<\/p>\n

The Bible tells of a time of terror. Notice the following prophecies, several of which will involve the USA and probably Canada:<\/p>\n

14 \u2018But if you do not obey Me, and do not observe all these commandments, 15 and if you despise My statutes, or if your soul abhors My judgments, so that you do not perform all My commandments, but break My covenant, 16 I also will do this to you: I will even appoint terror over you<\/strong>, wasting disease and fever which shall consume the eyes and cause sorrow of heart. And you shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it. 17 I will set My face against you, and you shall be defeated by your enemies. Those who hate you shall reign over you, and you shall flee when no one pursues you<\/strong>. (Leviticus 26:14-17)<\/p>\n

25 The sword shall destroy outside; There shall be terror within<\/strong> (Deuteronomy 32:25)<\/p>\n

12 \u201cCry and wail, son of man; For it will be against My people, Against all the princes of Israel. Terrors including the sword will be against My people<\/strong>; Therefore strike your thigh. (Ezekiel 21:12)<\/p>\n

12 Behold, these are the ungodly,<\/strong>Who are always at ease<\/strong>; They increase in riches\u202619 Oh, how they are brought to desolation, as in a moment! <\/strong>They are utterly consumed with terrors. <\/strong> (Psalms 73:12,19)<\/p>\n

25 Because you disdained all my counsel, <\/strong>And would have none of my rebuke<\/strong>, 26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your terror comes, <\/strong>27 When your terror comes like a storm, <\/strong>And your destruction comes like a whirlwind, When distress and anguish come upon you. (Proverbs 1:25-27)<\/p>\n

5 Also they are afraid of<\/strong> height, And of terrors in the way<\/strong> (Ecclesiastes 12:5).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Although I believe that the group currently known as the Islamic State will not be as it has been, and a temporary peace will come for a time (Daniel 9:27; see also The \u2018Peace Deal\u2019 of Daniel 9:27<\/a>), terrorism will not be eliminated (though it will appear that way to many for a time).<\/p>\n

The Islamic State, per se<\/em>, will be defeated.<\/p>\n

Yet, ultimately, a confederation against the USA, its Anglo-Saxon allies, and Israel involving Arab and European forces is coming per Psalm 83. And I have long believed that terrorism will have to be part of this based not only upon the “terror” prophecies, but those that discuss an arrangement between what is now mainly Islamic dominated lands and Europe in Psalm 83. While the current Islamic State will not lead as it wishes, it very well may be involved in major terrorist actions around the world.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Because of actions by groups such as the Islamic State and the terror attacks in the USA and Europe, many in the West, as well as in many of the Islam-dominated countries, will decide that a coalition of nations in North Africa and the Middle East is what is needed for ‘peace.’<\/p>\n

However this, according to the Bible, will not truly bring lasting peace (Daniel 11:40-43), though it may well lead to a temporary one (Daniel 9:27). Instead of real peace, an Islamic confederation would be a prelude to the time of coming destruction–to the USA (Daniel 11:39) and itself (Daniel 11:40-43)–and it will come suddenly (cf. 1 Thessalonians 5:3).<\/p>\n
