Doing something that the USA should have done over a decade ago, 16 European nations said no to genetically-modified corn:<\/p>\n

EU member state experts have again failed\u00a0to approve new licences for two new GM maize varieties to be grown in the European Union …\u00a0So far, 19 individual countries or regions have already declared they will not allow GMs to be grown on their territory \u2013 including Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland within the UK.\u00a0https:\/\/www.fwi.co.uk\/arable\/gm-maize-cultivation-blocked-brussels.htm<\/a><\/p>\n

A majority of EU countries voted on Monday against allowing two new genetically modified crops to be grown in Europe, batting the contentious decision on cultivation of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO) in Europe back to the EU executive.<\/p>\n

EU governments were asked to vote on the future of two grades of GM maize, Pioneer’s 1507 and Syngenta’s Bt11, which kill insects by producing their own pesticide and are also resistant to a particular herbicide. However, the votes against were not decisive in blocking their introduction because the opposition did not represent a “qualified majority” – also including countries that make up at least 65 percent of the EU population.<\/p>\n

The governments were also asked to determine whether to extend authorisation for Monsanto’s MON810, an insect-resistant maize that is grown mainly in Spain, but banned in a number of other countries. More countries voted against than in favor, but again the vote was not considered decisive …<\/p>\n

Mute Schimpf, food campaigner for Friends of the Earth Europe, said the decision now rested with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker.<\/p>\n

“He can put himself on the side of the majority of countries, citizens and farmers who do not want genetically modified crops, or he can back the mega-corporations behind the industrialisation of our countryside,” she said. http:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/eu-nations-vote-against-gm-crops\/a-38150180<\/a><\/p>\n

Note that in the three votes, the UK was in favor of GMOs every time. With the expected soon triggering of Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty, the UK will eventually lose its vote, and thus this appears to favor future anti-GMO votes in the European Union (the UK has a population of 64 million and the EU currently has a population of 508 million).<\/p>\n

Monsanto, the multinational and major pusher of GMO-crops and the herbicide RoundUp, is itself also facing some issues as to health problems claimed to be associated with RoundUp (see ZH: Monsanto Colluded With EPA, Was Unable To Prove Roundup Does Not Cause Cancer, Unsealed Court Docs Reveal<\/a>). Last night, for example, I saw an advertisement indicating that RoundUp was implicated with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.<\/p>\n

Yet, I think that the risks of GMOs goes well beyond Monsanto’s trademarked RoundUp.<\/p>\n

I continue to believe that likely crop failures associated with GMO grains are putting the USA at extreme risk of being destroyed economically and otherwise (and most USA corn and soy crops come from genetically-modified seeds). Most Americans do not like to accept this, but it is nonetheless true.<\/p>\n

The disciples asked Jesus about the end:<\/p>\n

3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?” (Matthew 24:3)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Notice some of what Jesus taught in response:<\/p>\n

4 And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. 6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet<\/strong>. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places<\/strong>. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows<\/strong>. (Matthew 24:4-8).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The \u201cbeginning of sorrows\u201d (Mathew 24:7-8) begins before the Great Tribulation (Matthew 24:21), the time of Jacob\u2019s trouble (Jeremiah 30:7). We seem to be in the beginning stages of these sorrows.<\/p>\n

Mark recorded the same account of this time from his perspective:<\/p>\n

3<\/sup> Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John, and Andrew asked Him privately, 4<\/sup> “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign when all these things will be fulfilled?” 5<\/sup> And Jesus, answering them, began to say: “Take heed that no one deceives you. 6<\/sup> For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He,’ and will deceive many. 7<\/sup> But when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be troubled; for such things must happen, but the end is not yet. 8<\/sup> For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines<\/strong> and troubles<\/strong>. These are the beginnings of sorrows<\/strong>. 9<\/sup> But watch out for yourselves, for they will deliver you up to councils, and you will be beaten in the synagogues. You will be brought before rulers and kings for My sake, for a testimony to them. 10<\/sup> And the gospel must first be preached to all the nations. 11<\/sup> But when they arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit\u2026\u201d (Mark 13:3\u201311).<\/p>\n

Thus, in both Matthew and Mark it is clear that a time called \u201cthe beginning of sorrows\u201d precedes the Great Tribulation. GMO crop failure would certainly seem to qualify as a sorrow or trouble.<\/p>\n

The Bible shows that the Europeans will begin the takeover of the USA (Daniel 11:39) and its Anglo-Saxon descended allies (cf. Daniel 8:24-25; Jeremiah 30:7) at the start of the Great Tribulation. It may well be that failure of GMO crops may weaken the USA and some of its allies prior to the attack.<\/p>\n

Consider that we currently see that Europe, which will dominate the world for 42 months per Revelation 13:5, is once again opposing GMO crops. Europe also has other agricultural practices which put it at less risk for food shortages than the USA, etc. (watch, for example, Are Americans & Asians setting themselves up for destruction from antibiotic use?<\/a>).<\/p>\n

The differing positions of the USA and Europe on GMOs seems to be consistent with biblical prophecies. The USA, UK, etc. are setting themselves up for a potentially massive problem with the GMOs.<\/p>\n

As Jesus said:<\/p>\n
