<\/em>In a letter today, UK Prime Minister Theresa May officially notified European Council President Donald Tusk that the United Kingdom will be leaving the European Union in accordance with Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty. Here are some excerpts from the letter she sent:<\/p>\n

Dear President Tusk<\/p>\n

On 23 June last year, the people of the United Kingdom voted to leave the European Union. As I have said before, that decision was no rejection of the values we share as fellow Europeans. Nor was it an attempt to do harm to the European Union or any of the remaining member states. On the contrary, the United Kingdom wants the European Union to succeed and prosper. Instead, the referendum was a vote to restore, as we see it, our national self-determination. We are leaving the European Union, but we are not leaving Europe – and we want to remain committed partners and allies to our friends across the continent.<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, the United Kingdom Parliament confirmed the result of the referendum by voting with clear and convincing majorities in both of its Houses for the European Union (Notification of Withdrawal) Bill. The Bill was passed by Parliament on 13 March and it received Royal Assent from Her Majesty The Queen and became an Act of Parliament on 16 March.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Today, therefore, I am writing to give effect to the democratic decision of the people of the United Kingdom. I hereby notify the European Council in accordance with Article 50(2) of the Treaty on European Union of the United Kingdom’s intention to withdraw from the European Union. In addition, in accordance with the same Article 50(2) as applied by Article 106a of the Treaty Establishing the European Atomic Energy Community, I hereby notify the European Council of the United Kingdom’s intention to withdraw from the European Atomic Energy Community. …<\/div>\n

The process in the United Kingdom<\/h2>\n

As I have announced already, the Government will bring forward legislation that will repeal the Act of Parliament – the European Communities Act 1972 – that gives effect to EU law in our country. This legislation will, wherever practical and appropriate, in effect convert the body of existing European Union law (the “acquis”) into UK law. This means there will be certainty for UK citizens and for anybody from the European Union who does business in the United Kingdom. The Government will consult on how we design and implement this legislation, and we will publish a White Paper tomorrow. We also intend to bring forward several other pieces of legislation that address specific issues relating to our departure from the European Union, also with a view to ensuring continuity and certainty, in particular for businesses. We will of course continue to fulfil our responsibilities as a member state while we remain a member of the European Union, and the legislation we propose will not come into effect until we leave. Before commenting further, one of the reasons I linked to the original letter itself is to mention that while the letter itself was typed, for some reason, “Dear President Tusk” was hand written. It just looked a bit unusual.<\/p>\n

Here is Article 50 (2) from the Treaty of Lisbon:<\/p>\n

50 <\/strong>2. A Member State which decides to withdraw shall notify the European Council of its intention. In the light of the guidelines provided by the European Council, the Union shall negotiate and conclude an agreement with that State, setting out the arrangements for its withdrawal, taking account of the framework for its future relationship with the Union. That agreement shall be negotiated in accordance with Article 218(3) of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union. The time to withdraw is supposed to be two years from the time of notification according t0 provision 3 of article 50. The intended departure of the UK from the EU has already begun to move the UK closer to the USA on more trade matters. I also believe that Brexit one-day will come back to haunt the UK. The Brexit is also already causing issues with Scotland and Northern Ireland.<\/p>\n

“The time-frame is damn narrow and all of the participants know that, including the Brits,” he said.<\/p>\n

“There are innumerable issues that need to be clarified to prevent uncertainty on both sides of the English Channel as uncertainty is poison for people, the EU citizens, the Germans who live in Britain and don’t know what their future status might be and vice-versa for British citizens in the EU.<\/p>\n

“Sometimes you wonder if everyone in London has understood what consequences that has, especially for the British economy.”\u00a0 …<\/p>\n

Germany’s foreign minister said it was difficult to understand how any country could believe it would be better off alone in the current global environment.<\/p>\n

“The negotiations will surely not be easy for either side,” Sigmar Gabriel said in Berlin.<\/p>\n

“Bad feelings are understandable. For many it is difficult to understand, especially in these turbulent times, how anyone can believe they would be better off alone. Martin Sch\u00e4fer is correct that there will end up being severe consequences. The EU leadership is not pleased that the UK is leaving the EU. One-day, sadly, it will seek and gain revenge (Daniel 8:24; 11:39).<\/p>\n

Many of us in the Church of God have long expected the situation with the UK and EU to change for the worse. Let\u2019s look at some statements put out by the writers once part of the old Radio Church of God, old Worldwide Church of God, and\/or the current Continuing<\/em> Church of God<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Here is Britain trying to GET IN on this uniting of Europe! \u2026 It is this same daughter of ancient Babylon who is to lay the YOKE of captivity and slavery on America and Britain. \u2026<\/p>\n

Britain is allowing it self to get mixed in with European foreigners\u2026 When God brings Britain DOWN-the rime of JACOBS\u2019 S TROUBLE -the only time when the DAUGHTER of Babylon will be sitting astride a united MILITARY EUROPE. Bible prophecy clearly shows that Britain will not <\/em>be one of the \u2026 NATIONS comprising the final <\/em>United States of Europe (McNair R. A Strong United Europe. Tomorrow\u2019s World, February 1970, p. 17).<\/p>\n

Perhaps it should be mentioned that the general position within the Churches of God is that Britain will not remain in the EU and will pull out at some point.<\/em> (Thiel B. It should be understood that ultimately, Britain will NOT thrive as part of the EU but will be taken over by the final European Beast power\u2013yet its former Prime Minister is promoting something that will not help the peoples of the UK. Ephraim (modern Great Britain) will not be part of the \u201cBeast\u201d power, so we can expect some significant change that will push the British out of the EU. (Davis. D. Ireland says \u201cNo!\u201d to EU power grab. Commentary, July, 1 2008)<\/p>\n

The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland will not be an equal part of the European Union. Britain will either pull out or be forced out or at least truly lose its sovereignty. Many of the Anglo-peoples of the UK, USA, etc. that are not killed will to be scattered and many will be made slaves (Will the Anglo-Nations be Divided and Have People Taken as Slaves?<\/a>). That is what the Bible shows will happen during the Great Tribulation.<\/p>\n

As far as this \u201cBeast King\u201d goes, he could possibly be the next EU president, but a restructure ultimately will be needed in Europe for the King of the North to have the type of power that the Bible indicate he will have (Revelation 17:12-13). The EU is not ready for that yet.<\/p>\n

However, Tony Blair\u2019s statements today are pointing to one more step towards certain biblical prophesies being fulfilled as he is realizing that the UK wants to pull out of the UK\u2013and that is something will happen (directly or indirectly).<\/p>\n

The final King of the North (Daniel 11:27-40) will take over the UK, USA, and their Anglo-allies according to Bible prophecy (cf. Daniel 11:39). While more people in the UK are starting to realize that the EU poses dangers to it, most have no idea how dangerous the rising Beast power in Europe will become (cf. Revelation 13:1-4; Daniel 11:39). Britain will ultimately NOT thrive as part of the EU but will be taken over by the final European Beast power. (Thiel B. Back in the early 1990s, when I was vice president of an irrigation equipment manufacturer, I told our British sales representative, who was visiting the factory in California, that one day the UK would separate from Europe. He flat out told me that could not possibly happen. And he gave reasons, but they were not biblical ones\u2013I told him he was in error. The Brexit vote shows that he, who was not part of the Church of God, was in error.<\/p>\n

Notice also something that was in my article Must the Ten Kings of Revelation 17:12 Rule over Ten Currently Existing Nations?<\/a> two years BEFORE the Brexit vote:<\/p>\n

While I do expect violent unrest in Europe, and some losses to Europe including the United Kingdom, this does not mean that the final beast power will have to be restricted to 10-11 existing nations.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The above was based upon an understanding of many biblical prophecies. We in the Continuing<\/em> Church of God<\/a> \u201chave also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts\u201d (2 Peter 1:19, KJV).\u201d<\/p>\n

This Brexit move marks a time of change and transition for the UK.<\/p>\n

The time of Jacob\u2019s trouble (Jeremiah 30:7), also known as the Great Tribulation, is coming. The UK will be affected by it.<\/p>\n

The UK will one day be taken over by a European power (Daniel 8:24-25)–as will the USA (Daniel 11:39; see also USA in Prophecy: The Strongest Fortresses<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Yet that will not be this year, next year, nor during the first term of the Donald Trump Administration. But events, like the Brexit, are setting the stage for this to ultimately happen. World events continue to align with properly understood end-time biblical prophecies.<\/p>\n
