Noticed a lot of news about Russia today. Here is something from the mainstream media:<\/p>\n

March 30, 2017<\/p>\n

Accusations that Russia interfered in last year’s U.S. elections are “lies” used for “domestic American politics,” Russian President Vladimir Putin<\/a> said Thursday.<\/p>\n

“We said on numerous occasions and I reiterate that we are confident \u2026 and know for sure that opinion polls in the United States show that very many people are \u2026 friendly towards the Russian Federation, and I’d like to tell these people that we perceive and regard the United States as a great power with which we want to establish good partnership relations,” Putin said on a CNBC-moderated panel<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“All those things are fictional, illusory and provocations, lies. All these are used for domestic American political agendas. The anti-Russian card is played by different political forces inside the United States to trade on that and consolidate their positions inside,” Putin said in Russian.<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, FBI Director James Comey confirmed that it is investigating Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. election, including any links between Moscow and Donald Trump<\/a>‘s campaign.\u00a0http:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2017\/03\/30\/putin-russia-trump-us-elections-lies.html<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The mainstream media would like to find a connection as it, in general, would like to use that against Donald Trump–and perhaps use it as basis for possible impeachment. Donald Trump, BTW, wants the government to look into ties between the Clintons and Russia.<\/p>\n

PCG<\/a> reported about Vladmir Putin again today:<\/p>\n

How Can We Know Putin Will Survive?<\/h4>\n

The Trumpet<\/em> can make such assertions with confidence because they are based on specific forecasts from a reliable source: the Bible. The Bible contains detailed foresights that say a Russian strongman will rise and exert enormous power on other nations.<\/p>\n

Revelation 9:16, written around a.d. 90, describes an Asian army that will amass 200 million men: \u201cAnd the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them.\u201d That is a force that contains more people than were even alive at the time that was written.<\/p>\n

Revelation 16:12 labels the leadership of this massive military as the \u201ckings of the east,\u201d indicating a bloc of Asian countries. Ezekiel 38 shows specifically which nations would comprise this bloc and details about its leadership: \u201cAnd the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, \u2018Son of man, set thy face unto Gog, of the land of Magog, prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal, and prophesy concerning him\u201d (Ezekiel 38:1-2; kjv, Young\u2019s Literal Translation). Anciently, Rosh<\/em> or Rus<\/em> was the name of Russia. The Jamieson, Fausset and Brown Commentary <\/em>and several other Bible sources recognize this.<\/p>\n

The passage then describes the campaigns of this force led by this \u201cprince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal.\u201d Who is the \u201cprince\u201d steering this massive army?<\/p>\n

A careful examination of these scriptural passages and others, matched to the framework of modern current events, makes the answer visible.<\/p>\n

In the September 2014 issue of the Philadelphia Trumpet,<\/em> editor in chief Gerald Flurry wrote:<\/p>\n

I strongly believe Vladimir Putin is going to lead the 200 million-man army<\/a>. Just look at the power he already has. Can you think of any other Russian politician who could become so powerful and have the will to lead Russia into the crisis of crises? I see nobody else on the horizon who could do that. And only a tiny few years remain for the prince of Rosh to appear! \u2026 This much is absolutely certain: The restoring of Russia\u2019s power by Vladimir Putin\u2014the prince of Russia\u2014was prophesied! He has already solidly allied Russia with China. The prophecy about the prince of Russia includes that main alliance. \u2026 The only question is whether or not Putin personally finishes the entire prophecy.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Since the Trumpet<\/em> has this vital understanding of Vladimir Putin\u2019s role in end-time prophecy, we believe it unlikely that a \u201cSlavic Spring\u201d is on the horizon for Russia\u2014at least not one that would take Putin out.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Let me state that Gerald Flurry did NOT base his position that Vladimir Putin would be the prince of Rosh of Ezekiel 38 from the Bible. He claimed to get some type of message from a supernatural source (see Teachings Unique to the Philadelphia Church of God<\/a>). And that source was NOT God’s Holy Spirit.<\/p>\n

While it could be possible that Vladimir Putin would lead the 200 million man army, it should be pointed out that the earliest that Revelation 9:16 could be fulfilled is sometime next decade. But as far as being the ‘Prince of Rosh,’ that prophecy cannot possibly be fulfilled by Vladimir Putin.<\/p>\n

Before addressing why, notice something in the German press about Russia:<\/p>\n

Russia’s planned 7,400 kilometer per hour (4,600 mile\u00a0per hour) hypersonic missile is such a “quantum leap in technology,” it could potentially render Western anti-aircraft defenses “obsolete,” defense analyst Tim Ripley told DW.<\/p>\n

If the new anti-ship technology succeeds, Zircon will be able to cover a distance of 250 kilometers (155 miles) in just 2.5 minutes – so fast as to make it almost immune to interception by conventional technology.<\/p>\n

“It will greatly reduce the reaction time that they (Western military units) have to deploy their own defenses and counter-measures,” said Ripley, who covers defense issues for “Jane’s Defence Weekly” magazine.<\/p>\n

Testing brought forward<\/strong><\/p>\n

After being in development for several years, Russia’s Interfax news agency last month cited a source familiar with the Zircon project who said the 5-ton missile is likely to be tested for the first time this spring “from a sea-based platform.” That’s earlier than the original projected date of 2018.<\/p>\n

Russian media reported the missile could be fully operational by the end of the decade. 03\/29\/17\u00a0http:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/russias-hypersonic-missile-ratchets-up-arms-race\/a-38189763<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Russia also has developing Sarmat missile, dubbed as ‘Satan 2’ by NATO, ‘Satan 2’ is not expected to be ‘operational’ until 2018 according to one source, but 2020 or 2021 according to other sources. For more about that watch Will Russia’s ‘Satan 2’ destroy Texas or France?<\/a><\/p>\n

While various ones believe that Russia is a major military threat to the USA and will launch a massive attack against the USA, this was not the view of the old Radio\/Worldwide Church of God.<\/p>\n

Notice something from the late Hebert Armstrong decades ago, during the time of the old Soviet Union, titled Why Russia Will Not Attack the United States<\/em>:<\/p>\n

For decades now, the prospect of war between Russia and the United States has continually heightened and lessened.<\/p>\n

Many who claim to be authorities on prophecy assure people a war involving Russia and the United States, Canada and England is prophesied in Ezekiel 38.<\/p>\n

The United States, Britain and other democracies of north-western Europe, they recognize, are nations descended from the lost Ten Tribes. Therefore, they conclude, the prophecy of Ezekiel 38 foretells a military invasion of the North American continent from the Soviet Union. But this is not what prophecy says…<\/p>\n

But this very fact – that this invasion will not come until after the Second Coming of Christ – will seem preposterous to many, at first thought.<\/p>\n

That is because we have been accustomed merely to assume things that are not true. We have blindly assumed that when Christ comes, there will be no opposition. Every person and power on earth, we have thought, will simply submit meekly and instantly to him and his power. But that is not true!<\/p>\n

Some gentile nations understandably shall not submit until forced to. The final restoration of the Roman Empire shall be subdued and conquered at a battle commonly called \u201cArmageddon.” But the populous nations of Eurasia that the Almighty God up to this point has not dealt with shall still have to be brought to submission.<\/p>\n

\u201cGog\u201d Identified<\/strong><\/center>“Gog in the land of “Magog” is the vast regions of the U.S.S.R. in northern Eurasia extending from the Baltic to the Pacific. “Meshech” is Moscow, “Tubal” is Tobol’sk.<\/p>\n

Notice the allies who come with them in this future battle. You will find “Gomer\u201d \u201cTogarmah,” “Magog,” “Meshech\u201d \u201cTubal” identified in Genesis 10 as the sons of Japheth, father of the Eurasians. Ethiopia and Phut (mistranslated Libya) are descended from Ham.<\/p>\n

Therefore, this prophecy of Ezekiel 38 shows who shall finally succeed in marshaling peoples of each major race into a gigantic invasion upon our people.<\/p>\n

When God begins to rule the world, through Christ – with His chosen people restored to prosperity in the land of Israel, the very center of the land surface of the earth (verse 12, Moffatt translation) – this, great Eurasian union of nations shall finally be tempted to use their mighty air force. Some Bible scholars assert falsely that these prophecies of Ezekiel were fulfilled anciently. They never were. Others believe they are about to occur but some years before Armageddon. Both views are erroneous. The events of Ezekiel 38 and 39 are without question still future – for the “latter days” (38: 16) and “latter years” (38:8). Moreover, Ezekiel 38:14 describes the time setting as being “in that day when my people of Israel dwelleth safely.” This is certainly not the situation in the State of Israel to- day! The Israel described by Ezekiel is a nation that dwells in security, in unwalled villages, totally unprepared for war (38:8, 11, 14). Read it for yourself! Contrary to the views of PCG’s Gerald Flurry Ezekiel 38 is for the distant future–and right at\/after the millennium<\/a> (cf. Revelation 20:7-9; see also Ezekiel 38: For Russia & Iran in Our Day?<\/a>; a related video is also available titled Ezekiel 38: For Russia, Ukraine, & Iran Now?<\/a>). But that does not mean that there cannot be military conflict between the USA and Russia now (and there may be some).<\/p>\n

But what about massive destruction with ties to Russia?<\/p>\n

That will come. Babylonian Europe will one day be hit. But this is over seven years away.<\/p>\n

Steps are aligning for that to happen now.<\/p>\n

There is currently a growing Russian-led military confederation called CSTO. And more nations are likely to support Russia in the future. It may be of interest to note that Armenia is part of CSTO. Armenia (called Ararat below) and others are also referred to below as part of the confederation that goes against end time Babylon:<\/p>\n

27 Set up a banner in the land, Blow the trumpet among the nations! Prepare the nations against her, Call the kingdoms together against her: Ararat, Minni, and Ashkenaz. Appoint a general against her; Cause the horses to come up like the bristling locusts. 28 Prepare against her the nations, With the kings of the Medes, Its governors and all its rulers, All the land of his dominion. 29 And the land will tremble and sorrow; For every purpose of the Lord shall be performed against Babylon, To make the land of Babylon a desolation without inhabitant. (Jeremiah 51:27-29)<\/p>\n

50:41 “Behold, a people shall come from the north<\/strong>,
\nAnd a great nation and many kings
\nShall be raised up from the ends of the earth.
\n42 They shall hold the bow and the lance;
\nThey are cruel and shall not show mercy.
\nTheir voice shall roar like the sea;
\nThey shall ride on horses,
\nSet in array, like a man for the battle,
\nAgainst you, O daughter of Babylon.<\/p>\n

43 “The king of Babylon has heard the report about them,
\nAnd his hands grow feeble;
\nAnguish has taken hold of him,
\nPangs as of a woman in childbirth…”(Jeremiah 50:41-43).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The above verses are discussing a Russian-led\/influenced confederation that will come against Europe in the end.<\/p>\n

Herbert Armstrong commented that a confederation is associated with the 200 million-man army–which means also that it will include nations not currently confederate with Russia in CSTO (like apparently the Chinese and other Asians):<\/p>\n

The second woe, with its symbols of horses and horsemen…and is also referred to as an event in the Day OF THE Eternal in Joel 2:4. This refers to a tremendous military power–also to the NORTH–due north! They come with an army of two hundred million! Think of it–an army of two hundred million! (Armstrong HW. The Book of Revelation Unveiled at Last! 1972 edition. p. 38-39).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Notice something else from Joel that is related to this:<\/p>\n

6 Before them the people writhe in pain;
\nAll faces are drained of color. (Joel 2:6)<\/p>\n

20 “But I will remove far from you the northern army,
\nAnd will drive him away into a barren and desolate land,
\nWith his face toward the eastern sea
\nAnd his back toward the western sea;
\nHis stench will come up,
\nAnd his foul odor will rise,
\nBecause he has done monstrous things.” (Joel 2:20)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This is related because the northern, King of the North<\/a> army of Europe, will be facing forces from the east–these would be forces most likely led by Russia.<\/p>\n

Also the Hebrew word translated “writhe in pain” in Joel 2:6 is the same basic word used in Jeremiah 51:29 and translated as “and sorrow.” This also seems to tie all this together.<\/p>\n

The Bible shows that the leader of the final Babylonian European Empire will be called “the King of the North<\/a>” and that he will be troubled by those from the north (Russia) and the east (China and other Asians<\/a>):<\/p>\n

40 …the king of the North… 43 He shall have power over the treasures of gold and silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt; also the Libyans and Ethiopians shall follow at his heels. 44 But news from the east and the north shall trouble him<\/strong>; therefore he shall go out with great fury to destroy and annihilate many. 45 And he shall plant the tents of his palace between the seas and the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and no one will help him (Dan 11:40,43-45).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This fulfillment of Daniel 11:44 is likely to occur about 3 1\/2 years after the Great Tribulation begins.<\/p>\n

Missile shields will not provide the type of protection that Europe will one day need. Perhaps ‘Satan 2’ (watch Will Russia’s ‘Satan 2’ destroy Texas or France?<\/a>), hypersonic missiles, or something similar will be used by Russia (ground troops from Asia will be a factor).<\/p>\n

Certain Protestant prophecy watchers suspect that now with the involvement of Russia in the Middle East and the increased willingness of the West to fight Islamic terrorists that WWIII is about to start. Some have concluded that the \u2018Bible Code\u2019 is showing this is about to happen (watch Russia, Iran, Syria, & the Bible Code<\/a>).<\/p>\n

That is NOT the case.<\/p>\n

However, what is happening is that between Donald Trump and Russian actions, the Europeans are getting a wake-up call that they have to develop their own military\u2013and the Bible shows that they will (Revelation 13:4; Daniel 11:39-43).<\/p>\n

Yet, this will not turn out well for the USA (Daniel 11:39; see also USA in Prophecy: The Strongest Fortresses<\/a>), the Middle East\/North Africa (Daniel 11:40-43), nor Europe itself (Daniel 11:44; Revelation 18).<\/p>\n
