{"id":418,"date":"2008-04-28T06:08:08","date_gmt":"2008-04-28T14:08:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/news\/?p=418"},"modified":"2008-04-27T07:00:31","modified_gmt":"2008-04-27T15:00:31","slug":"ucg-and-lcg-festival-planners-now-out","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/news\/cog-news\/ucg-and-lcg-festival-planners-now-out\/","title":{"rendered":"UCG and LCG Festival Planners Now Out"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/feast.htm\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/feastbanner.gif\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" width=\"307\" height=\"230\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<em>Banner at 2007 Feast of Tabernacles in Tobago<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/cogwriter.htm\"><span style=\"color: #0066cc;\">COGwriter <\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p>On Friday, April 25th, I received the hard copy of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/ucg.htm\">United Church of God&#8217;s<\/a> <em>Festival Planning Brochure<\/em> for 2008 and an email of the pdf version of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/ylcg.htm\">Living Church of God&#8217;s<\/a> <em>Festival Planner<\/em> for 2008.<\/p>\n<p>Combined, these two groups <em>may<\/em> have more actual Feast of Tabernacle attendees than the other COGs combined.<\/p>\n<p>Here are reports from both groups for previous years:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;All together at the 62 sites around the world, 20,476 attended the Feast with United&#8221; (United Brethren Enjoy Feast at 62 Sites. United News. November 2007, p.1).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;More than 7,100 Living Church of     God brethren kept God\u2019s Feast of     Tabernacles and Last Great Day in 30     countries and at 45 sites around the world.&#8221; (2006 Feast of Tabernacles Reports. Living Church News. Nov-Dec 2006).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In 2008, the Feast of Tabernacles will begin the evening of October 13 and, including the Last Great Day, run through the evening of October 21st.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/ylcg.htm\">Living Church of God<\/a> announced the following list:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Feast of Tabernacles 2008<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Argentina\u2014Sierra de la Ventana<br \/>\nAustralia\u2014Albany<br \/>\nAustralia\u2014The Entrance<br \/>\nBarbados\u2014Christ Church<br \/>\nCanada\u2014Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island<br \/>\nCanada\u2014Lethbridge, Alberta<br \/>\nCanada\u2014Orford, Quebec<br \/>\nFrance\u2014Evian<br \/>\nGuatemala\u2014Antigua<br \/>\nGuyana\u2014Awarewaunau and Georgetown<br \/>\nIndonesia\u2014Batu<br \/>\nJamaica\u2014Ocho Rios<br \/>\nKenya\u2014Kisii City<br \/>\nMalaysia\u2014Melaka<br \/>\nMexico\u2014Huatusco<br \/>\nNew Zealand\u2014Lake Taupo<br \/>\nPapua New Guinea\u2014Wewak<br \/>\nPhilippines\u2014Baguio City, Davao City, Don Carlos, and Maranding<br \/>\nSouth Africa\u2014Glentana<br \/>\nSri Lanka<br \/>\nTobago<br \/>\nUnited Kingdom\u2014Llangollen, Wales<br \/>\nUnited States\u2014Branson, Missouri<br \/>\nUnited States\u2014New Braunfels, Texas<br \/>\nUnited States\u2014Newport, Oregon<br \/>\nUnited States\u2014Prescott, Arizona<br \/>\nUnited States\u2014Sunset Beach, North Carolina<br \/>\nUnited States\u2014Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin<br \/>\nVanuatu\u2014Orap<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>There will probably also be LCG sites, as there were in previous years, in places such as India, Myanmar, Nigeria, and possibly Thailand and elsewhere.<\/p>\n<p>UCG has Feast sites in many (but not all) of the same nations, and even the same cities in some cases, as LCG (this occurs, because there are many <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/ucg.htm\">Differences between the Living Church of God and United Church of God<\/a>&#8211;differences that many are not aware of).  UCG also has some unique countries of its own with Feast sites in places such as Mauritius, Rwanda, Togo, and Tonga.<\/p>\n<p>Online registration for United States and Canadian sites for the Living Church of God will begin on May 4. Watch for more information in <em>The World Ahead<\/em> and on the MyLCG website, www.cogl.org.<\/p>\n<p>I just read a moment ago that UCG members were to provide  a hard copy of their registration forms to their local ministers yesterday&#8211;so hopefully none of them received their <em>Planner<\/em> later than I did&#8211;unless of course, they decide instead to go to a LCG site :).<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, since travel is almost always required for the Fall Festivals, planning should begin now for those interested in actually attending.<\/p>\n<p><em>Some articles of possibly related interest may include:<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cogwriter.com\/feast.htm\">The Feast of Tabernacles: A Time for Christians?<\/a> Is this pilgrimage holy day still valid?
