Angela Merkel has won a fourth term, but official results have shown she’ll have a “tough road” for coalition talks. While the CDU remains the largest party, the far-right AfD will be the third biggest political force.<\/p>\n

With all 299 constituencies reporting, Chancellor Angela Merkel’s Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and its Bavarian sister party the CSU came out ahead in Germany’s national election on Sunday, with 33 percent of the vote.<\/p>\n

Rival Social Democrats (SPD) led by Martin Schulz tumbled to a mere 20.5 percent, while the Green and Left parties remained about the same as they did in 2013, each with 8.9 and 9.2 percent, respectively.<\/p>\n

Germany’s right-wing, nationalist AfD party has vowed to fight “an invasion of foreigners” into the country, after winning its first parliamentary seats.<\/p>\n

“We want a different policy,” co-leader Alexander Gauland said following the historic surge.<\/p>\n

Alternative for Germany was founded in 2013 as an anti-euro party but later turned its focus to immigration and Islam.<\/p>\n

From fringe to center of power<\/strong><\/p>\n

Winning seats in the Bundestag marks a startling new phase in the party\u2019s progress from the fringe of German politics to closer to the center of power in Berlin. …<\/p>\n

For mainstream German politicians, and Germany minorities, the rise of the AfD, which has called for the sealing of borders and a slimmed down appeals process for asylum-seekers making deportations easier, is a door opening on a German past they thought long buried.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the most aggressive election campaign that Germany has seen since 1945,\u201d lamented Senegal-born Karamba Diaby, who was first elected to the Bundestag in 2013 to become the country\u2019s first black African lawmaker. Last month, he filed a legal complaint against members of the openly neo-Nazi National Democratic Party, whose supporters have been backing the AfD, for calling him an \u201cape\u201d on a Facebook page.<\/p>\n

For Diaby and other lawmakers from Germany\u2019s major parties, the arrival of the AfD raises perplexing questions about how they should treat the first open nationalists to sit in the German legislature since the 1933 razing of the Reichstag by Adolf Hitler.<\/p>\n

But treating AfD lawmakers any differently from other elected representatives could play into the hands of the far-right populists, allowing them to portray themselves as political victims and to claim that a political oligarchy is intent on ignoring the 12.6 percent of the population that voted for them. …<\/p>\n

Chancellor Angela Merkel\u2019s decision to admit more than a million refugees, breathed new life into the party, which lurched rightwards. Spontaneous protest<\/h4>\n

An hour after polls closed on Sunday evening, hundreds of people gathered for spontaneous protest on Berlin\u2019s Alexanderplatz, before the AfD election party, shouting \u201cNazis out!\u201d and \u201cAll of Berlin hates the AfD\u201d.<\/p>\n

As the crowd swelled, police in riot gear moved in and clashed with protestors who tried to enter the AfD party.<\/p>\n

German Jewish groups expressed alarm at the AfD\u2019s election result. Josef Schuster of Germany\u2019s Central Jewish Council, said the party \u201ctolerates far-right thoughts and agitates against minorities\u201d and called on other parties to \u201creveal the true face of the AfD and unmask their empty, populist promises\u201d. http:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/news\/world\/europe\/merkel-wins-german-elections-amid-dramatic-swing-to-far-right-1.3232475#.WchqttwIeN0.mailto<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

So, an anti-Islamic party, which reminds people of Adolf Hitler’s party made significant gains in the German election. Jews are concerned. Persecution will occur in Europe (Revelation 13:1-10; see also Persecutions by Church and State<\/a>).<\/p>\n

While 12.6% of the vote does not seem like much, consider that Adolf Hitler’s Nazi Party (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei<\/i>; NSDAP) rose from obscurity to win 18.3 per\u00a0<\/span>cent of the vote and 107 parliamentary seats in the 1930 election when Germany had major economic problems. The AfD won 94 parliamentary seats according to BBC. Do not think a small showing means that a party or its ideas have little traction.<\/p>\n

As regular readers of this news page are aware, it remains my view (based upon understanding of biblical prophecies), that Germany will NOT keep tolerating Islam. Change will come. Even political allies of Chancellor Merkel are partially blaming her for what has happened.<\/p>\n

As far as Angela Merkel goes, notice something from nearly seven years ago, followed by something else from January 2016:<\/p>\n

BERLIN\u2014German Chancellor Angela Merkel joined her country\u2019s increasingly acrimonious debate about immigration over the weekend, declaring that multiculturalism in Germany had been a \u201ctotal failure.\u201d\u2026<\/p>\n

Ms. Merkel\u2019s party has railed against multiculturalism for years, arguing for the primacy of German Leitkultur<\/em>, a term that evokes the country\u2019s Judeo-Christian traditions, as well as the principles of the age of the enlightenment.<\/p>\n

Yet the timing of Ms. Merkel\u2019s comments, which come in the midst of a public debate over what Germany can do to better integrate immigrants, many of whom are Muslim, has drawn attention. Polls indicate that a growing number of Germans believe that too many of the country\u2019s foreigners live in what are often referred to as \u201cparallel communities\u201d with little or no connection with German culture\u2026<\/p>\n

Though immigration has been a hot political topic in Germany for years, the latest debate began in August after the publication of a book by Bundesbank official Thilo Sarrazin in which he warned against the growing Islamization of Germany\u2026<\/p>\n

Last week, Horst Seehofer, the leader of the Christian Democrats Bavarian sister party, said Germany should consider cutting off immigration from Turkey and Arab countries altogether, an idea Ms. Merkel has opposed.<\/p>\n

The balancing act Ms. Merkel is trying to pull off by trying to appeal to both conservative and mainstream voters was apparent in her weekend speech. NEUBRANDENBURG, Germany (Reuters) \u2013 German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Saturday tried to placate the increasingly vocal critics of her open-door policy for refugees, insisting that asylum seekers from Syria and Iraq would go home once the conflicts there had ended. \u2026<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need \u2026 to say to people that this is a temporary residential status and we expect that once there is peace in Syria again, once IS has been defeated in Iraq, that you go back to your home country with the knowledge that you have gained,\u201d she said at a meeting of CDU members in the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. http:\/\/townhall.com\/news\/politics-elections\/2016\/01\/30\/germanys-merkel-says-refugees-must-return-home-once-war-over-n2112395<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The German plan is to send many of the Muslims back. Germany will be a leader in pushing out Islam. Muslims will not like this, yet the reality is that more and more in Germany want to do something NOW about the Islamic situation.<\/p>\n

The vote for the AfD is a step in that direction.<\/p>\n

Germany itself, along with the rest of Europe, will change. The Bible shows that Europe will reorganize and a strong leader will emerge:<\/p>\n

12 \u201cThe ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast. 13 These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast<\/strong>. (Revelation 17:12-13, NKJV)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The final European Beast leader, who is also known as the final King of the North<\/a>, will ultimately promote his religion (Daniel 11:36-38; which will not be Islam, he will at first feign and claim a form of Roman Catholicism), destroy the USA and its Anglo-Saxon allies (Daniel 11:39; see also USA in Prophecy: The Strongest Fortresses<\/a>), and then takeover the predominantly Islamic nations in the Middle East and North Africa (Daniel 11:40-43).<\/p>\n

Islamic issues will be a factor in the rise of this Beast leader.<\/p>\n

It should be noted that this Beast leader is NOT Russian (see also Is Russia the King of the North?<\/a>). Despite claims from Protestant<\/a> Joel Richardson, this Beast leader is NOT Islamic (see also Is There an Islamic Antichrist?<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Interestingly, Catholic writings also tell of a time when a ruler will push Islam out of Europe:<\/p>\n

St. Francis de Paul<\/em> (1470):\u2026From your lordship shall be born the great leader of the holy militia\u2026the Great Monarch\u2026He shall be a great captain and prince of holy men, who shall be called \u2018the holy Cross-bearers of Jesus Christ,\u2019 with whom he will destroy the Mahometan sect and the rest of the infidels\u2026He shall be the great founder of a new religious order different from all the others<\/strong>\u2026This shall be the last religious order in the Church and shall do more good for our holy religion than all other religious institutes. By force of arms he shall take possession of a great kingdom. He shall destroy the sect of Mahomet\u2026There will be one fold, one shepherd. He shall reign until the end of time. A Catholic descendant of a German imperial house will rule a united Germany with peace, prosperity and great power, for God will be with this sovereign (the Great Monarch?)\u2026A Great Monarch will arise after a period of terrible wars and persecutions in Europe. He will be a Catholic; he will not be a German (Culleton, p. 195).<\/p>\n

Blessed Joannes Amadeus de Sylva<\/em> (died 1482): Germany and Spain will unite under a great prince\u2026After much slaughtering, the other nations will be forced to come into this union. There is no hope for the unbelievers until all of Germany is converted; then all will happen quickly\u2026the time will be prolonged until all countries unite under the Great Ruler. After this union, mass conversions will take place\u2026 (Connor, Prophecy for Today, p. 34).<\/p>\n

Catholic Priest and saint John Bosco<\/em> (19th century): War will come from the south, peace from the north. \u2026 But behold, a great warrior from the north appears, a banner in his right hand, his arm bearing this inscription: \u2018Irresistible is the hand of the Lord.\u2019 At that moment the Venerable Old Man of Rome went forward to meet him, wielding a flaming torch. The banner then grew larger and its blackness became white as snow; in its center stood out the name of the Almighty in golden letter. Pseudo-Methodius<\/em> (7th century): This new Muslim invasion will be a punishment without limit and mercy\u2026In France, people of Christians will fight and kill them\u2026At that same time the Muslims will be killed and they will know the tribulation\u2026The Lord will give them to the powers of the Christians whose empire will be elevated above all empires\u2026The Roman King (Great Monarch) will show a great indignation against those who will have denied Christ in Egypt or in Arabia (Araujo, Fabio R. Selected Prophecies and Prophets. BookSurge LLC, Charlestown (SC), 2007, p. 103).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The \u2018Great Monarch\u2019 that is spoken of above is quite similar to the final King of the North<\/a> that the Bible warns against. Both Catholic and biblical prophecy teach that this leader will be a European, probably at least partially of German heritage and he will fight those of the Arab\/Muslim lands. As the 21st century proceeds, do not be surprised that Islam will be pushed out of Europe to a major degree (Daniel 11:36-38; Revelation 13:4,8,11-17).<\/p>\n

Notice both a Catholic and a biblical prophecy:<\/p>\n

Rudolph Gekner<\/em> (died 1675). \u201cA great prince of the North with a most powerful army will traverse all Europe, uproot all republics, and exterminate all rebels. His sword moved by Divine power will most valiantly defend the Church of Jesus Christ. He will combat on behalf of the true orthodox faith, and shall subdue to his dominion the Mahometan Empire.\u201d (Cited in Connor, Edward. Prophecy for Today. Imprimatur + A.J. Willinger, Bishop of Monterey-Fresno; Reprint: Tan Books and Publishers, Rockford (IL), 1984, p.36).<\/p>\n

40 \u201cAt the time of the end the king of the South shall attack him; and the king of the North shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter the countries, overwhelm them, and pass through. 41 He shall also enter the Glorious Land, and many countries shall be overthrown; but these shall escape from his hand: Edom, Moab, and the prominent people of Ammon. 42 He shall stretch out his hand against the countries, and the land of Egypt shall not escape. 43 He shall have power over the treasures of gold and silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt; also the Libyans and Ethiopians shall follow at his heels. (Daniel 11:40-43)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Notice that the \u2018great prince of the North\u2019 is expected to subdue an Islamic Empire. Notice that the Bible teaches that the \u2018king of the North<\/a>\u2018 will go into the Middle East and North Africa and eliminate the leader called the \u2018king of the South<\/a>.\u2019 The lands of the \u2018king of the South\u2019 are currently Islamic. Perhaps it should be mentioned that Syria is expected to support the confederation of the king of the South (see also Ezekiel 30:2-8), though the time will come that its capital will be destroyed (Isaiah 17:1).<\/p>\n

The destruction of a coming Islamic confederation (see The Prophesied \u2018Islamic\u2019 Confederation<\/a> ) will be part of the result of what is happening in the Middle East and in the West.<\/p>\n

Although we need to rely on the Bible, and not \u2018private Catholic prophecies,\u2019 notice the way some of them mirror the Bible. This should give us pause to consider that some who claim Catholicism will point to them as part of their justification for actions they may take in the future.<\/p>\n

War is Coming Between Europeans and Arabs<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It should also be understood that while the Bible indicates that Europeans will defeat the Muslim peoples in the Middle East and North Africa per Daniel 11:40-43 and Ezekiel 30:2-8, the Bible also shows that the Islamic nations there will make deals with the Europeans (Daniel 11:27; Psalm 83)\u2013these deals will NOT turn out well for the USA in the long run (cf. Daniel 11:39; USA in Prophecy: The Strongest Fortresses<\/a>).<\/p>\n

As I have been saying for a long time, it may well be that migrant issues will be one of the triggers to get Europe to ultimately reorganize as the Bible teaches it will in Revelation 17:12-13, Daniel 11:21-38, Daniel 2:41-43, and other passages.<\/p>\n

The actual biblical war prophesied, between Europe and the Arabs, will not come until more than 3 1\/2 years after a \u2018peace deal\u2019 has been confirmed by a \u2018prince\u2019 (Daniel 9:26-27) who later will become the final King of the North (Daniel 11:31-44). This leader will be European, and eventually destroy the nation with the strongest fortresses (Daniel 11:39), which in the 21st century would be the USA. He will proclaim peace and safety:<\/p>\n

25 And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many<\/strong>: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand. (Daniel 8:25, KJV).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This leader will encourage proclamations of peace, yet sudden destruction will come (cf. 1 Thessalonians 5:3). After destroying the USA, etc., he will turn against a power in the Middle East and North Africa (Daniel 11:40-43)\u2013a power consisting of many Arabs.<\/p>\n

More in Europe are realizing that Islam is a threat.<\/p>\n

The migrant situation in Germany and elsewhere is setting Europe up for civil unrest. Ultimately, war will come between the Europeans and the Arabs.<\/p>\n

The rising of the AfD is demonstrating that Germans are becoming less tolerant of Islam than many thought. War is Coming Between Europeans and Arabs<\/a>.<\/p>\n
