Sometimes to punish, sometimes to lead to repentance, and other times to consider that God, not humankind, is in control.<\/p>\n Although California historically has wildfires, this current batch seems worse than normal.<\/p>\n The Bible itself mentions fire as a tool that God sometimes uses. Here are some examples:<\/p>\n 11 The Lord said:<\/p>\n “Surely it will be well with your remnant; 12 O house of David! Thus says the Lord:<\/p>\n “Execute judgment in the morning; 13 “Behold, I am against you, O inhabitant of the valley, 11 The Lord has fulfilled His fury, 15 There the fire will devour you, My prayers are with those affected by the fires.<\/p>\n I, who also live in California, also pray that those in California will repent as worse problems are ahead if it continues to go in a moral direction away from the Bible. California set a bad standard when it became the first USA state to outlaw attempts to convert homosexuals from that ‘lifestyle’ (see California\u2019s Brown Signs Anti-Homosexual Conversion Bill<\/a>). Additionally, the State of California has made a bunch of anti-biblical anti-truth laws to promote the LGBTQ agenda (see\u00a0 \u2018California To Have Harsher Penalty For Pronoun Violations Than For Knowingly Spreading HIV\u2019<\/span><\/a> and Ba\u2019al-ifornia: California\u2019s intent to change gender definitions<\/a>). Plus California has other issues where it is also setting very bad examples (such as the production of pornographic entertainment).<\/p>\n Weather problems can be a warning to people that society is going in the wrong direction (Amos 4:7-12). Notice also God’s use of fire between three thousand and four thousand years ago:<\/p>\n 24 Then the Lord rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah, from the Lord out of the heavens. 25 So He overthrew those cities, all the plain, all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground. (Genesis 19:24-25)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n And why did it happen?<\/p>\n 7 as Sodom and Gomorrah<\/strong>, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example<\/strong>, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. (Jude 7)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Why mention this in the 21st century? Because God turned:<\/p>\n 6\u2026the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes<\/strong>, condemned them to destruction, making them an example<\/strong> to those who afterward would live ungodly (2 Peter 2:6)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Notice also the following:<\/p>\n 11 “I overthrew some of you, 12 “Therefore thus will I do to you, O Israel; Fires should get people to consider. But will people in California, the USA, or the other Anglo-descended areas heed?<\/p>\n Over in Europe, there is an unusual hurricane:<\/p>\n October 14, 2017<\/p>\n Hurricane Ophelia, a rare storm for the North Atlantic, was expected to bring high winds and rough seas to five western counties of Ireland this weekend.<\/p>\n Ophelia, strengthening offshore near the Azores Islands, was a Category 3 storm, according to the U.S. National Hurricane Center.
