The Governor of California made statements related to the fire situation:<\/p>\n

California Gov. Jerry Brown toured areas devastated by a large wildfire burning in Southern California on Saturday, and warned the state faces a “new normal” of fire risk exacerbated by climate change.<\/p>\n

One death has been blamed<\/a>\u00a0on the so-called Thomas Fire in Ventura County, which broke out on Monday and like other large blazes burning in the region was fed by Santa Ana winds.<\/p>\n

California Governor Jerry Brown cautioned Saturday that more wildfires were in his state’s future, as firefighters battled six major blazes that have killed at least one person and damaged hundreds of homes. …<\/p>\n

Nearly 800 homes and other structures have been destroyed in all the recent fires, including 537 in the Thomas Fire, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, also known as Cal Fire.<\/p>\n

“We’re facing a new reality in this state, where fires threaten people\u2019s lives, their property, their neighborhoods, and of course billions and billions of dollars,” Brown said at a news conference. He called California a “very wonderful place, but a place that\u2019s getting hotter.”<\/p>\n

“And we know from the changing in the climate that it’s going to exacerbate everything else,” Brown said. https:\/\/www.aol.com\/article\/news\/2017\/12\/10\/california-faces-new-normal-of-intense-wildfires-governor-says\/23302684\/<\/a><\/p>\n

About 87,000 people remained evacuated from their homes, down from a height of more than 200,000 earlier this week.<\/p>\n

Since Monday, the fires have burned more than 670 square kilometers (260 square miles). New fires keep erupting in dry conditions, though, and are being stoked by relentless westward Santa Ana winds, which are expected to gust up to 80 kilometers per hour (50 mph) on Sunday.<\/p>\n

About 8,700 firefighters, accompanied by helicopters, continued to spray and dump water and fire retardant to try to slow the spread of the blazes that have erupted along the Pacific Coast from San Diego to Santa Barbara County, about 370 kilometers (230 miles) to the north.<\/p>\n

President Donald Trump responded to the fires Friday by issuing a federal declaration of a state of emergency for California, paving the way for federal agencies to help coordinate relief efforts.<\/p>\n

The biggest and most destructive blaze is the Thomas Fire, about 90 kilometers (56 miles) northwest of Los Angeles. Instead of thanking the President of the USA, he seems to be warning him:<\/p>\n

California Gov. Jerry Brown (D)\u00a0says\u00a0President Trump<\/a><\/span>‘s stance on climate change demonstrates that he does not appear to fear the “wrath of God” or have any regard for the “existential consequences” of his environmental\u00a0policies.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think President Trump has a fear of the Lord, the fear of the wrath of God, which leads one to more humility … this is such a reckless disregard for the truth and for the existential consequences that can be unleashed,\u201d Brown said in an interview on CBS’s “60 Minutes,” which is set to air on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Brown, who studied to become a Jesuit priest prior to entering politics, has been a vocal critic of the Trump administration.<\/p>\n

His latest comments come as the southern\u00a0portion of California battles massive wildfires that in just a few days have damaged thousands of acres of property and destroyed\u00a0hundreds of buildings.<\/p>\n

Trump declared <\/a>a state of emergency in California, which permits\u00a0federal assistance to supplement the state and local response to the fires. http:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/state-watch\/364084-california-gov-trump-doesnt-fear-god-or-existential-consequences<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The Bible shows that God uses weather to get people’s attention. Sometimes to punish, sometimes to lead to repentance, and other times to consider that God, not humankind, is in control.<\/p>\n

Although California historically has wildfires, this current batch seems worse than normal.<\/p>\n

The Bible itself mentions fire as a tool that God sometimes uses. Here are some examples:<\/p>\n

11 The Lord said:<\/p>\n

“Surely it will be well with your remnant;
\nSurely I will cause the enemy to intercede with you
\nIn the time of adversity and in the time of affliction.
\n12 Can anyone break iron,
\nThe northern iron and the bronze?
\n13 Your wealth and your treasures
\nI will give as plunder without price,
\nBecause of all your sins,
\nThroughout your territories.
\n14 And I will make you cross over with your enemies
\nInto a land which you do not know;
\nFor a fire is kindled in My anger,
\nWhich shall burn upon you.” (Jeremiah 15:11-14)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

12 O house of David! Thus says the Lord:<\/p>\n

“Execute judgment in the morning;
\nAnd deliver him who is plundered
\nOut of the hand of the oppressor,
\nLest My fury go forth like fire
\nAnd burn so that no one can quench it,
\nBecause of the evil of your doings.<\/p>\n

13 “Behold, I am against you, O inhabitant of the valley,
\nAnd rock of the plain,” says the Lord,
\n“Who say, ‘Who shall come down against us?
\nOr who shall enter our dwellings?’
\n14 But I will punish you according to the fruit of your doings,” says the Lord;
\n“I will kindle a fire in its forest,
\nAnd it shall devour all things around it.”‘ (Jeremiah 21:12-14)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

11 The Lord has fulfilled His fury,
\nHe has poured out His fierce anger.
\nHe kindled a fire in Zion,
\nAnd it has devoured its foundations. (Lamentations 4:11)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

15 There the fire will devour you,
\nThe sword will cut you off;
\nIt will eat you up like a locust. (Nahum 3:15)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Perhaps Governor Brown should read the above verses.<\/p>\n

As far as the US President goes, since he has stated that he never has repented (see Donald Trump in Prophecy<\/a>), President Trump probably does not have the proper “fear of the wrath of God.”<\/p>\n

But what about Jerry Brown?<\/p>\n

Since he was a Roman Catholic, let us notice a passage of scriptures from a Catholic-version of the Bible that uses the term “wrath of God”<\/p>\n

\n

18<\/b><\/a><\/span> For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and injustice of those men that detain the truth of God in injustice: 19<\/a><\/span> Because that which is known of God is manifest in them. For God hath manifested it unto them. 20<\/a><\/span> For the invisible things of him, from the creation of the world, are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made; his eternal power also, and divinity: so that they are inexcusable. 21<\/b><\/a><\/span> Because that, when they knew God, they have not glorified him as God, or given thanks; but became vain in their thoughts, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22<\/b><\/a><\/span>For professing themselves to be wise, they became fools. 23<\/b><\/a> <\/span>And they changed the glory of the incorruptible God into the likeness of the image of a corruptible man, and of birds, and of fourfooted beasts, and of creeping things.<\/p>\n

26<\/b><\/a><\/span> For this cause God delivered them up to shameful affections. For their women have changed the natural use into that use which is against nature. 27<\/b><\/a><\/span> And, in like manner, the men also, leaving the natural use of the women, have burned in their lusts one towards another, men with men working that which is filthy, and receiving in themselves the recompense which was due to their error.<\/p>\n

28<\/b><\/a><\/span>And as they liked not to have God in their knowledge, God delivered them up to a reprobate sense, to do those things which are not convenient; 29<\/b><\/a><\/span> Being filled with all iniquity, malice, fornication, avarice, wickedness, full of envy, murder, contention, deceit, malignity, whisperers, 30<\/b><\/a><\/span>Detractors, hateful to God, contumelious, proud, haughty, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31<\/b><\/a><\/span> Foolish, dissolute, without affection, without fidelity, without mercy. 32<\/b><\/a><\/span> Who, having known the justice of God, did not understand that they who do such things, are worthy of death; and not only they that do them, but they also that consent to them that do them. (Romans 1:18-32, Rheims New Testament)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

So, “the wrath of God” is at least partially directed towards those that practice or condone sexual immorality like homosexuality and lesbianism.<\/p>\n

California Governor Brown is one who has publicly consented to such behavior.<\/p>\n

I, who also live in California, pray for Governor Brown and that those in California will repent as worse problems are ahead if they continue to go in a moral direction away from the Bible. California set a bad standard when it became the first USA state to outlaw attempts to convert homosexuals from that ‘lifestyle’ (see California\u2019s Brown Signs Anti-Homosexual Conversion Bill<\/a>). Additionally, the State of California has made a bunch of anti-biblical anti-truth laws to promote the LGBTQ agenda this year (see \u2018California To Have Harsher Penalty For Pronoun Violations Than For Knowingly Spreading HIV\u2019<\/span><\/a> and Ba\u2019al-ifornia: California\u2019s intent to change gender definitions<\/a>) that Governor Brown has approved.<\/p>\n

The Governor’s hypocrisy on the “fear of the wrath of God” should be obvious to any that will read scripture. His comments remind me of a false religious leader who tried to tie denying aspects of climate change in with the unpardonable sin (watch The ‘Unpardonable Sin’ and ‘Climate Change’?<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Weather problems can be a warning to people that society is going in the wrong direction (Amos 4:7-12). Notice also God’s use of fire between three thousand and four thousand years ago:<\/p>\n

24 Then the Lord rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah, from the Lord out of the heavens. 25 So He overthrew those cities, all the plain, all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground. (Genesis 19:24-25)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And why did it happen?<\/p>\n

7 as Sodom and Gomorrah<\/strong>, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example<\/strong>, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. (Jude 7)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Why mention this in the 21st century? Because God turned:<\/p>\n

6\u2026the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes<\/strong>, condemned them to destruction, making them an example<\/strong> to those who afterward would live ungodly (2 Peter 2:6)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Notice also the following:<\/p>\n

11 “I overthrew some of you,
\nAs God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah,
\nAnd you were like a firebrand plucked from the burning;
\nYet you have not returned to Me,”
\nSays the Lord.<\/p>\n

12 “Therefore thus will I do to you, O Israel;
\nBecause I will do this to you,
\nPrepare to meet your God, O Israel!” (Amos 4:11-12)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Fires should get people to consider. But will people in California, the USA, or the other Anglo-descended areas heed?<\/p>\n

Jesus taught:<\/p>\n

7…And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. (Matthew 24:7-8).<\/p>\n

8 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines and troubles<\/strong>. These are the beginnings of sorrows. (Mark 13:8)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The sorrows and troubles are just beginning and will get much worse.<\/p>\n

The Governor of California is calling this the “new normal.”<\/p>\n

Do not be asleep or lukewarm.<\/p>\n
