The Taliban claimed responsibility for a terrorist attack in Afghanistan today:<\/p>\n

January 27, 2018<\/p>\n

A suicide car bomb Saturday ripped through a crowded area outside a government building in Kabul, Afghanistan, killing at least 95 people and wounding more than 163 others.<\/p>\n

The Health Ministry confirmed the casualty toll.<\/p>\n

Thick, dark smoke could be seen rising into the sky from the central part of the capital following the explosion near the old Afghan Interior Ministry building, witnesses said.<\/p>\n

An Afghan Interior Ministry spokesman, Nasrat Rahimi, said the bomber used an explosives-filled ambulance to carry out the attack in an area where civilians had gathered in large number.<\/p>\n

The Taliban instantly took responsibility for plotting the attack. A spokesman for the insurgent group said the target was a crowd of personnel with the Afghan security force.<\/p>\n

The deadly bombing came a week after five heavily armed Taliban suicide bombers stormed Kabul\u2019s Intercontinental Hotel in a highly secured part of the city. The raid killed at least 22 people, including 14 foreigners. At least four Americans were among the dead.<\/p>\n

Back to back attacks in heavily guarded parts of the city have raised severe criticism of the authorities for failing to prevent the violence. https:\/\/www.voanews.com\/a\/official-powerful-explosion-kabul\/4227541.html<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The reasons I made the headline “Taliban terrorist kills close to 100 in Afghanistan” is that with so many injured, we may not have the final death count yet. My prayers go out to those affected.<\/p>\n

When George Bush was president, the USA kicked the Taliban out of the top leadership of Afghanistan. Yet, the Taliban still remain in that nation. Islamists figured out some time ago that they can often outlast the USA if they wait long enough. Although President Obama said that the Taliban was defeated, it does not act like it accepted that ‘defeat.’<\/p>\n

I have warned for some time that the situation in Afghanistan was not going as well as the USA has publicly declared or hoped.<\/p>\n

Back on March 9, 2013 (see Taliban suicide bombing in Afghanistan: Considered to be a warning?<\/a>), I wrote:<\/p>\n

Unless the USA keeps enough troops in Afghanistan (which it is not intending to do), the situation there will change to something that the USA has claimed that it does not want. The Taliban, other Islamic groups, and tribal leaders will pretty much insure that.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Officials with the U.S.-led coalition say the Afghan forces held their own this summer fighting season and did not lose any significant ground.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m cautiously optimistic they will be able to sustain themselves,\u201d said Brig. Gen Daniel Yoo, the commander of Regional Command (Southwest), said of the Afghan forces.<\/p>\n

He said the success of the Afghan security army and police depended on leadership, continued development of logistics and confidence.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019ve got to want it more than we do,\u201d he said of Afghan forces that have been losing hundreds of soldiers and policemen each month in battles, assassinations and suicide attacks by insurgents. \u00a0http:\/\/www.voanews.com\/content\/afghanistan-troop-withdrawal-us-marines-british-combat-forces\/2496918.html<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In response to the above on October 26, 2014 (see USA and UK cease combat operations in Afghanistan: What\u2019s next?<\/a>), I wrote:<\/p>\n

The ceasing of combat operations by the UK and USA is not a victory in Afghanistan. It is a pause so that troops can be pulled out. It will not bring real peace to the region. At least some in Afghanistan will likely support the rise of a leader that the Bible refers to as the final King of the South.<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

On April 22, 2015, I wrote (see Taliban to begin new offensive in Afghanistan<\/a>):<\/p>\n

The USA did not defeat the Taliban in Afghanistan\u2013it basically \u2018kicked the can further down the road.\u2019 After seeing what happened to Iraq after the USA ceased \u2018combat operations\u2019 this should make it clear that Afghanistan is not secure. …<\/p>\n

Since the Bible prophesies terrorism and we may well see more coming in and\/or from Afghanistan.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

On January 10, 2016, I posted (see VOA: \u2018A Try for Peace in Afghanistan as 4 Nations Meet\u2019<\/a>):<\/p>\n

The Taliban wants to control Afghanistan.\u00a0 They do not just want peace in some section. The \u201cpolitical solution\u201d that Afghanistan needs is the Kingdom of God<\/a>. \u2026<\/p>\n

There will be no lasting peace in Afghanistan. As I have repeatedly written, Afghanistan needs the Kingdom of God<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Expect to see some shifts in Afghanistan as it likely will give some support to the final caliphate known as the King of the South of Bible prophecy (Daniel 11:40-43).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In April, 2017, US President Donald Trump authorized the dropping of something sometimes called ‘the mother of all bombs’ in Afghanistan against suspected terrorists. The release of M.O.A.B. on Afghanistan seems to be another message.\u00a0 … What Donald Trump has been doing is NOT about to spark WWIII …<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The bomb sent a message that Donald Trump would be willing to take military action, it did not spark WWIII, but it also did not stop terrorism in Afghanistan.<\/p>\n

On June 3, 2017, I posted (see Afghanistan: Clashes, terror, quagmire, and death<\/a>):<\/p>\n

The situation in Afghanistan is not encouraging.<\/p>\n

There will be no lasting peace in Afghanistan\u2013though a temporal peace is likely to affect it and elsewhere (cf. Daniel 9:27; see also The \u2018Peace Deal\u2019 of Daniel 9:27<\/a>).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Afghanistan has been called the USA\u2019s longest running war. And the USA has not been able to bring peace. Afghanistan is a mountainous region that is broken up into various tribal areas. Afghanistan was a financial drain on the old Soviet Union and some believe that this is part of the reason the Soviet Union finally broke up.<\/p>\n

The series of attacks by the Taliban in 2018 should make it clear that Afghanistan is not secure. Afghanistan needs the Kingdom of God<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The situation in Afghanistan is going to change.<\/p>\n

All the fighting, killing, and terrorism in the Middle East and North Africa are getting political and religious leaders to rethink their approach to the region. But not to turn to the Bible.<\/p>\n

The time will come when a confederation of nations from North Africa and the Middle East will form, which the Bible refers to as the final King of the South<\/a> (Daniel 11:40-43). Political leaders outside of the region apparently will support this. Though this will not end well for the participants (cf. Daniel 11:39-43; Ezekiel 30:2-8).<\/p>\n

The Taliban’s latest actions show that the USA did not get the political solution it wanted in Afghanistan.<\/p>\n

The Bible shows that terrorism is prophesied:<\/p>\n

14 \u2018But if you do not obey Me, and do not observe all these commandments, 15 and if you despise My statutes, or if your soul abhors My judgments, so that you do not perform all My commandments, but break My covenant, 16 I also will do this to you: I will even appoint terror over you<\/strong>, wasting disease and fever which shall consume the eyes and cause sorrow of heart. And you shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it. 17 I will set My face against you, and you shall be defeated by your enemies. Those who hate you shall reign over you, and you shall flee when no one pursues you<\/strong>. (Leviticus 26:14-17)<\/p>\n

25 The sword shall destroy outside; There shall be terror within<\/strong> (Deuteronomy 32:25)<\/p>\n

12 \u201cCry and wail, son of man; For it will be against My people, Against all the princes of Israel. Terrors including the sword will be against My people<\/strong>; Therefore strike your thigh. (Ezekiel 21:12)<\/p>\n

12 Behold, these are the ungodly,<\/strong>Who are always at ease<\/strong>; They increase in riches\u202619 Oh, how they are brought to desolation, as in a moment! <\/strong>They are utterly consumed with terrors. <\/strong> (Psalms 73:12,19)<\/p>\n

25 Because you disdained all my counsel, <\/strong>And would have none of my rebuke<\/strong>, 26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your terror comes, <\/strong>27 When your terror comes like a storm, <\/strong>And your destruction comes like a whirlwind, When distress and anguish come upon you. (Proverbs 1:25-27)<\/p>\n

5 Also they are afraid of<\/strong> height, And of terrors in the way<\/strong> (Ecclesiastes 12:5).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
