COGwriter<\/a><\/p>\n Dr. Tom Frieden, former head of the US Centers for Disease Control, is sounding the alarm that the USA’s budget cuts will lead to pestilential epidemics:<\/p>\n The former chief of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says the decision to cut 80% of its epidemic prevention activities overseas could pose a grave danger to the United States because it “would significantly increase the chance an epidemic will spread without our knowledge and endanger lives in our country and around the world.”<\/p>\n The CDC informed personnel in the past two weeks that it was discontinuing its work in 39 out of 49 countries where its Center for Global Health helps prevent, detect and respond to dangerous infectious disease threats, such as Ebola and the Zika virus. The agency said it was forced to make the decision because it doesn’t expect any new funding for the programs.<\/p>\n The decision sparked outrage among an array of top health officials and organizations who said Congress and the Trump administration are leaving the nation vulnerable to an outbreak that could affect millions of Americans. “We can either help other countries stop disease outbreaks abroad or fight them here at home,” said Dr. Tom Frieden, director of the CDC from 2009 to 2017. “If funding for global health security isn’t found, CDC will have to retreat from the front lines of fighting not terrorism but terrible organisms in 30 countries.” https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2018\/02\/03\/health\/cdc-slashes-global-epidemic-programs-outrage\/index.html<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n While some may dismiss Dr. Frieden’s comments as partisan against the Trump Administration, could the US be affected by diseases that originate in other countries?<\/p>\n Certainly.<\/p>\n That is normally the case with the flu, to cite one example, every year.<\/p>\n Could it be much worse than what we have seen over the past several decades?<\/p>\n Yes.<\/p>\n Back in 2011, a movie related to the spread of a massively deadly disease came out Contagion<\/em>. Here are some comments about it:<\/p>\n Producer\u2019s synopsis<\/em><\/strong>: \u2018Contagion\u2019 follows the rapid progress of a lethal airborne virus that kills within days. As the fast-moving epidemic grows, the worldwide medical community races to find a cure and control the panic that spreads faster than the virus itself. At the same time, ordinary people struggle to survive in a society coming apart.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Here some comments from Dr. Frieden related to the movie Contagion<\/em>:<\/p>\n The movie tells the story of a novel virus that spreads across the globe rapidly, with scientists and the public following its every move. The idea of a contagion such as this is very real…the plot of a new, deadly virus spreading quickly is quite plausible. In fact, CDC and public health partners identify, on average, one new or emerging infectious disease each year. The movie is a reminder that public health at local, state, national, and global levels must be supported to quickly detect, investigate, and respond to outbreaks and keep Americans safe from health, safety, and security threats arising in this country or anywhere in the world.<\/p>\n The film underscores that we are all connected by the air we breathe, the food we eat, and the water we drink… Contagion<\/em> shows that fear is also contagious. It presented a somewhat scientifically-based scenario of what could happen with a deadly-enough pathogen. In the movie, many millions died around the world.<\/p>\n Yes, that was only a movie. Yet, humankind really is at risk. And modern travel and other practices are placing humanity at even greater risk, as are genetically-modified foods (cf. Pestilence Issues and Genetically-Modified Corn<\/a>).<\/p>\n Of course, although Dr. Frieden did not mention scripture, pestilences are prophesied in the Bible. Jesus warned that \u201cpestilences\u201d would be part of the \u201cbeginning of sorrows\u201d:<\/p>\n 7 \u2026 And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. (Matthew 24:7-8)<\/p>\n 8 \u2026 there will be famines and troubles. These are the beginnings of sorrows (Mark 13:5-8).<\/p>\n 11 And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences (Luke 21:11). According to Jesus, one or more significant pestilences will begin shortly before the start of the Great Tribulation<\/a>. Biblically, it appears to be highly likely that the USA and its Anglo-allies will be hit hard by pestilences just prior to being taken over (Leviticus 26:21-25) by the Beast power (Daniel 11:39).<\/p>\n In the Book of Revelation, death and disease pestilences are predicted with the ride of the fourth horseman:<\/p>\n 7 When He opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, “Come and see.” 8 So I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, with hunger, with death, and by the beasts of the earth. (Revelation 6:7-8) 6:8).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n The above ride begins PRIOR to the start of the Great Tribulation<\/a>. A fourth of the earth\u2013that is something in the neighborhood of 2,000,000,000 people, a huge amount – will be killed.<\/p>\n The ride of the pale horseman of death will result in deaths from war, famine, and pestilence. While no pestilence will stop the rise of the Babylonian Beast power, the Book of Revelation indicates that the final effect of the fourth horseman will ultimately affect this spiritual city of Babylon, and apparently result in death (Revelation 18:8) and including by the sword (Revelation 19:14-21).<\/p>\n Tougher times are coming. And for some parts of the world those tougher times may be here now. People who can prepare, should. Both spiritually and physically.<\/p>\n The “contagion” of pestilence will bring much more than fear, the fourth horseman will bring massive amounts of actual deaths.<\/p>\n As Jesus said:<\/p>\n 37 And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!
