In a letter dated 29 March 2017, UK Prime Minister Theresa May officially notified European Council President Donald Tusk that the United Kingdom would be leaving the European Union in accordance with Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty.<\/p>\n

She seems optimistic:<\/p>\n

Brexit is the beginning of a \u2018bright new chapter\u2019 for Britain and the country\u2019s best days \u2018really do lie ahead of us\u2019, Theresa May has said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Based on comments from Donald Tusk, and others, however, this does not seem to be going very well:<\/p>\n

The UK’s approach to the next stage of Brexit negotiations seems to be based on “pure illusion”, Donald Tusk says.<\/p>\n

The European Council president told a news conference in Brussels that the UK was still trying to “cherry pick” its future relationship with the EU. …<\/p>\n

Mr Tusk said the EU would continue to be “extremely realistic” during the forthcoming negotiations.<\/p>\n

The second phase of Brexit negotiations will cover transitional arrangements after the UK leaves and economic and security co-operation in the future.<\/p>\n

Mr Tusk, who spoke at an informal meeting of 27 European heads of states and governments, said he would present draft guidelines on the future EU-UK relationship at a summit in March.<\/p>\n

“Our intention is to adopt these guidelines, whether the UK is ready with its vision of our future relations, or not,” he said.<\/p>\n

“Naturally it would be much better if it were. But we cannot stand by and wait.” 02\/23\/18 http:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/uk-politics-43175201<\/a><\/p>\n

Theresa May won\u2019t give us a deadline for concluding EU negotiations. But Brexit Countdown<\/a> can.<\/p>\n

High-level sources say any deal struck by the UK must be in place by the second day of the European Council summit on 19th October.<\/p>\n

The PM has to give MPs a chance to rubberstamp the deal before that so she can sign on the dotted line.<\/p>\n

That means a meaningful vote in Parliament on Thursday, 11th March. If MPs reject the deal<\/a> then we are back to square one.<\/p>\n

This gives Brexit Secretary David Davis just 229 days to secure a trade agreement – a tall order indeed.<\/p>\n

Failure means reverting to World Trade Organisation rules which will see tariffs and quotas on imports and exports. …<\/p>\n

Many in the EU want the United Kingdom to pay a major price for its departure. The EU’s position is that the UK caused the problem, and it needs to heed the EU if it wants a decent trade deal.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, Spain would really like Gibraltar\u2013and I believe it will eventually get it. Ireland wants Northern Ireland, and I believe it will ultimately get it. Though I do not believe that the UK want either to happen\u2013it is likely to take the military defeat of the UK\u2013which will come (cf. Daniel 8:24-25; 11:39) probably next decade\u2013for that to happen\u2013but it will happen. The EU wants them now. Or at least wants to move in that direction.<\/p>\n

Consider Gibraltar and Northern Ireland when you read the following scriptures:<\/p>\n

58 \u201cIf you do not carefully observe all the words of this law that are written in this book<\/strong>, that you may fear this glorious and awesome name, THE LORD YOUR GOD, 59 then the Lord will bring upon you and your descendants extraordinary plagues \u2014 great and prolonged plagues \u2014 and serious and prolonged sicknesses. 60 Moreover He will bring back on you all the diseases of Egypt, of which you were afraid, and they shall cling to you. 61 Also every sickness and every plague, which is not written in this Book of the Law, will the Lord bring upon you until you are destroyed. 62 You shall be left few in number, whereas you were as the stars of heaven in multitude, because you would not obey the voice of the Lord your God. 63 And it shall be, that just as the Lord rejoiced over you to do you good and multiply you, so the Lord will rejoice over you to destroy you and bring you to nothing; and you shall be plucked from off the land which you go to possess<\/strong>. The UK will lose territory. It probably will NOT negotiate territory away related to Brexit, but it will eventually lose all its territory.<\/p>\n

If the EU takes to hard a stance in negotiations. the UK may decide to walk away completely and have no deal with the EU (or not much of one).<\/p>\n

This essentially has been called a ‘hard Brexit.’<\/p>\n

The UK will hope that since Donald Trump wants a deal between the UK and USA, and some other nations want deals with the UK, that it will do well in the event of a hard Brexit.<\/p>\n

In a soft Brexit, the UK basically would need to do whatever the EU wants and then it hopes it will be able to have unfettered access to trade with EU nations. Most EU leaders do not support that.<\/p>\n

The EU leadership is not pleased that the UK is leaving the EU. One-day, sadly, it will seek and gain revenge (Daniel 8:24; 11:39).<\/p>\n

Many of us in the Church of God have long expected the situation with the UK and EU to change for the worse. Let\u2019s look at some statements put out by the writers once part of the old Radio Church of God, old Worldwide Church of God, and\/or the current Continuing<\/em> Church of God<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Here is Britain trying to GET IN on this uniting of Europe! \u2026 It is this same daughter of ancient Babylon who is to lay the YOKE of captivity and slavery on America and Britain. \u2026<\/p>\n

Britain is allowing it self to get mixed in with European foreigners\u2026 When God brings Britain DOWN-the rime of JACOBS\u2019 S TROUBLE -the only time when the DAUGHTER of Babylon will be sitting astride a united MILITARY EUROPE. Bible prophecy clearly shows that Britain will not <\/em>be one of the \u2026 NATIONS comprising the final <\/em>United States of Europe (McNair R. A Strong United Europe. Tomorrow\u2019s World, February 1970, p. 17).<\/p>\n

Perhaps it should be mentioned that the general position within the Churches of God is that Britain will not remain in the EU and will pull out at some point.<\/em> (Thiel B. It should be understood that ultimately, Britain will NOT thrive as part of the EU but will be taken over by the final European Beast power\u2013yet its former Prime Minister is promoting something that will not help the peoples of the UK. Ephraim (modern Great Britain) will not be part of the \u201cBeast\u201d power, so we can expect some significant change that will push the British out of the EU. (Davis. D. Ireland says \u201cNo!\u201d to EU power grab. Commentary, July, 1 2008)<\/p>\n

The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland will not be an equal part of the European Union. Britain will either pull out or be forced out or at least truly lose its sovereignty. Many of the Anglo-peoples of the UK, USA, etc. that are not killed will to be scattered and many will be made slaves (Will the Anglo-Nations be Divided and Have People Taken as Slaves?<\/a>). That is what the Bible shows will happen during the Great Tribulation.<\/p>\n

As far as this \u201cBeast King\u201d goes, he could possibly be the next EU president, but a restructure ultimately will be needed in Europe for the King of the North to have the type of power that the Bible indicate he will have (Revelation 17:12-13). The EU is not ready for that yet.<\/p>\n

However, Tony Blair\u2019s statements today are pointing to one more step towards certain biblical prophesies being fulfilled as he is realizing that the UK wants to pull out of the UK\u2013and that is something will happen (directly or indirectly).<\/p>\n

The final King of the North (Daniel 11:27-40) will take over the UK, USA, and their Anglo-allies according to Bible prophecy (cf. Daniel 11:39). While more people in the UK are starting to realize that the EU poses dangers to it, most have no idea how dangerous the rising Beast power in Europe will become (cf. Revelation 13:1-4; Daniel 11:39). Britain will ultimately NOT thrive as part of the EU but will be taken over by the final European Beast power. (Thiel B. Back in the early 1990s, when I was vice president of an irrigation equipment manufacturer, I told our British sales representative, who was visiting the factory in California, that one day the UK would separate from Europe. He flat out told me that could not possibly happen. And he gave reasons, but they were not biblical ones\u2013I told him he was in error. The Brexit vote shows that he, who was not part of the Church of God, was in error.<\/p>\n

Notice also something that was in my article Must the Ten Kings of Revelation 17:12 Rule over Ten Currently Existing Nations?<\/a> two years BEFORE the Brexit vote:<\/p>\n

While I do expect violent unrest in Europe, and some losses to Europe including the United Kingdom, this does not mean that the final beast power will have to be restricted to 10-11 existing nations.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The above was based upon an understanding of many biblical prophecies. We in the Continuing<\/em> Church of God<\/a> \u201chave also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts\u201d (2 Peter 1:19, KJV).\u201d<\/p>\n

This Brexit move marks a time of change and transition for the UK.<\/p>\n

The time of Jacob\u2019s trouble (Jeremiah 30:7), also known as the Great Tribulation (see When Will the Great Tribulation Begin?<\/a>), is coming. The UK will be affected by it.<\/p>\n

The UK will one day be taken over by a European power (Daniel 8:24-25)–as will the USA (Daniel 11:39; see also USA in Prophecy: The Strongest Fortresses<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Yet that will not be this year, next year, nor during the first term of the Donald Trump Administration. But events, like the Brexit, are setting the stage for this to ultimately happen. World events continue to align with properly understood end-time biblical prophecies.<\/p>\n
