The notion that Palestinian grievances are the sole or even main cause of instability in the Middle East was always a myth. So is the idea that peace can happen before the Palestinians admit defeat in their century-old war against Zionism. Yet by creating a fact on the ground that does nothing to impede a theoretical peace agreement, the United States has also exposed the hollow nature of the anti-Israel consensus that holds that any Western recognition of reality that forces the Palestinians to give up their illusions is inadmissible. Jerusalem embassy will bring war, warns grand mufti<\/h2>\n

State Department’s plan names May 14 as day for facility to open in Israel’s capital<\/h3>\n

A key Palestinian religious leader is warning that there will be war if the United States follows through on its announced plan to open an embassy in Jerusalem, which Washington now formally recognizes as Israel\u2019s capital.<\/p>\n

The threat, according to Palestinian Media Watch,<\/a> comes from Sheik Muhammad Hussein, the grand mufti of Jerusalem.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0official Palestinian Authority daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida reported Hussein, described as \u201cpreacher at the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque,\u201d \u201cwarned against the severity of the American administration\u2019s decision on transferring its embassy to occupied Jerusalem.\u201d<\/p>\n

Palestinians and much of the world community is deploring the announcement. The USA, Israel, and a few other nations support it.<\/p>\n

But some consider the move of the US Embassy to Jerusalem as prophetic.<\/p>\n

Serial predictor David Meade, who previously claimed the world would end on September 23 and November 19 in 2017, says WW3 will start in 2018. …<\/p>\n

Mr Meade said: \u201cHalfway through the Tribulation the Antichrist declares himself in the rebuilt Hebrew temple in Jerusalem. There\u2019s major trouble from that point forward. Because of Donald Trump\u2019s decision related to Jerusalem, some think this will make it easier for a \u2018Third Temple\u2019 to be built there and that Donald Trump is the biblical \u2018Cyrus\u2019 (see Donald Trump reportedly a \u2018Cyrus\u2019 preparing the way for a new Jewish temple<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Mike Evans founded the Friends of Zion museum in Jerusalem to cultivate the special bond between Evangelicals and Jews\u00a0\u2022\u00a0 Evans says Israel’s friends \u2013 750 million Christian Zionists worldwide \u2013 outnumber\u00a0its enemies\u00a0\u2022 Evans: Trump won’t turn on Israel. …<\/p>\n

It comes as no surprise that Evans speaks about Trump with such admiration. He doesn’t hide the fact that he believes that Trump “is a modern day Cyrus the Great” who entered the White House because God wanted to help the Jews, among other things. http:\/\/www.israelhayom.com\/2018\/02\/16\/trump-is-a-modern-day-cyrus-the-great\/<\/a><\/p>\n

This problem of Trump’s revelling in his sinful behaviour is mitigated for some evangelicals by the ‘evil kings’ narrative. Jack Jenkins of Religion News Service described for us the Cyrus analogy of an evil king who comes through for God’s people, so is tolerated and even thanked for having made provision for the needs and priorities of faithful believers.<\/p>\n

And as I reported here previously, there is now a coin from the Sanhedrin with an image of Donald Trump and Cyrus (see Sanhedrin Mints Silver Half Shekel With Images of Trump and Cyrus: Is the \u2018third temple\u2019 necessary for a successful Trump presidency<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Some believe that Donald Trump will cause a ‘third temple’ to be built in Jerusalem.<\/p>\n

Essentially, this mainly has to do with prophecies related to animal sacrifices, though according to the Bible (see Ezra 3:6) and the Sanhedrin (see Why is a Jewish Temple in Jerusalem Not Required?<\/a>), an actual ‘third temple does NOT need to be built for sacrifices to resume.<\/p>\n

Bible prophecy shows that they will be stopped by the King of the North (Daniel 11:31) who will align with the final Antichrist<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What about war?<\/p>\n

Yes, war or other regional conflict is possible.<\/p>\n

One day, Jerusalem will be attacked:<\/p>\n

One day, the nation of Israel will lose territory (for details, see the prophecies in the article Gaza and the Palestinians in Bible Prophecy<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Ultimately, and probably after conflict, a temporary peace deal will be put in place (cf. Daniel 9:27; see also The ‘Peace Deal’ of Daniel 9:27<\/a>).<\/p>\n

But this will not end as hoped by the USA (cf. Daniel 11:39; see also USA in Prophecy: The Strongest Fortresses<\/a><\/span>) or Israel (cf. Daniel 11:31).<\/p>\n

Despite certain Jewish and American hopes, steps are moving in this direction.<\/p>\n

\nJerusalem, Donald Trump, and Prophecy <\/a> On December 6, 2017, US President Donald Trump fulfilled a campaign promise related to the recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. This brought anger, protests, and rockets from some Palestinians. It also brought condemnation from European allies–it has been claimed to be disruptive and even catastrophic. The Palestinian President (Mahmoud Abbas) said that this pronouncement eliminated the USA as being a fair mediator for a peace deal.
