As USA debt rises, the US Federal Reserve raises interest rates:<\/p>\n

March 22, 2018<\/p>\n

The Federal Reserve on Wednesday lifted its fed funds rate<\/a> by 25 basis points to a range of 1.50% to 1.75%. It was the first rate hike under new Fed Chairman Jerome Powell. The central bank signaled two more hikes were coming this year.\u00a0 …Most simply, the fed funds rate determines the interest rate at which banks borrow short-term money.<\/p>\n

Increases are passed on to other borrowers<\/a>, mostly consumers, through higher rates on things like credit-card debt. http:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/federal-reserve-rate-hike-on-prime-lending-rate-loans-credit-cards-2018-3<\/a><\/p>\n

On Friday afternoon, the national debt of the United States hit another major milestone, soaring past $21 trillion for the first time ever.<\/p>\n

Clearly that is an enormous number\u2026 it’s actually larger than the size of the entire US economy, which is pretty incredible.<\/p>\n

But what’s always been the more important story about America’s pile of debt is how rapidly it’s growing. …<\/p>\n

For example, in the span of a SINGLE DAY, from Thursday to Friday, the national debt grew by $73 BILLION. In a day. …<\/p>\n

Most disturbingly, the national debt has grown by more than $1 TRILLION\u2026 just in the last SIX MONTHS. …<\/p>\n

On a proportional basis, the national debt expanded 36% faster than the US economy<\/strong> (even if you include inflation).<\/p>\n

Over the course of several years, that effect compounds into something that’s quite nasty. …<\/p>\n

Most people are in one of three camps when it comes to the debt.<\/p>\n

#1: They ignore it altogether, and stick their heads in the sand (or up somewhere else).<\/p>\n

#2: They acknowledge the debt, but tell themselves fairy tales that it doesn’t matter\u2026 or that the government is going to somehow ‘fix’ it. (which is ridiculous given that the government is the one causing the problem to begin with.)<\/p>\n

#3: They view the situation rationally and understand that, maybe, just maybe, at some point in the future, there might possibly be some consequence to arise from the largest debt pile that has ever been accumulated in the history of the world\u2026 and they make sensible preparations just in case.<\/p>\n

Well, to partially answer that last question, hopefully all readers of this COGwriter Church of God News page are in a somewhat different group.<\/p>\n

Hopefully all readers believe the following prophecy and understand that it applies to the USA:<\/p>\n

2 <\/strong>And the Lord answered me:<\/p>\n

\u201cWrite the vision;
\nmake it plain on tablets,
\nso he may run who reads it.
\n3 <\/strong>For still the vision awaits its appointed time;
\nit hastens to the end\u2014it will not lie.
\nIf it seems slow, wait for it;
\nit will surely come; it will not delay.<\/p>\n

4 <\/strong>\u201cBehold, his soul is puffed up; it is not upright within him,
\nbut the righteous shall live by his faith.<\/p>\n

5 <\/strong>\u201cMoreover, wine is a traitor,
\nan arrogant man who is never at rest.
\nHis greed is as wide as Sheol;
\nlike death he has never enough.
\nHe gathers for himself all nations
\nand collects as his own all peoples.\u201d<\/p>\n

6<\/strong> Shall not all these take up their taunt against him, with scoffing and riddles for him, and say,<\/p>\n

\u201cWoe to him who heaps up what is not his own\u2014
\nfor how long?\u2014
\nand loads himself with pledges!\u201d
\n7 <\/strong>Will not your debtors suddenly arise,
\nand those awake who will make you tremble?
\nThen you will be spoil for them.
\n8 <\/strong>Because you have plundered many nations,
\nall the remnant of the peoples shall plunder you,
\nfor the blood of man and violence to the earth,
\nto cities and all who dwell in them. (Habakkuk 2:2-8; English Standard Version)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The USA is the most indebted nation in the history of humanity and those in it should try to understand this prophecy–rising interest rates mean that it will cost the US government more to service its debt–this will one day be truly unsustainable. Perhaps it should be noted that the United Kingdom seems to have the second highest amount of total debt (about 1\/2 that of the USA).<\/p>\n

Notice that God tells Habakkuk that those who read this should run–that means they should take proper spiritual action now (cf. Luke 21:36), and then, eventually physically flee (cf. Revelation 12:14-16).<\/p>\n

The rise of US debt was listed by me as number 10 of 18 items to prophetically watch in 2018<\/a> (here is a link to a related sermon: 18 items to prophetically watch in 2018<\/a>).<\/p>\n

The Anglo-American world order will come to an end. Accumulation of debt, and then having to pay historically \u2018normal\u2019 interest rates will strain the national economies of the USA and UK more than almost anyone will believe. It will be a financial crisis beyond what Jerome Powell or Donald Trump would consider possible.<\/p>\n

Those who think the current world order with the USA\u2019s dollar on top will last several decades are in error.<\/p>\n

The idea that the debt does not matter is a false and arrogant belief.<\/p>\n

The Bible teaches:<\/p>\n

18 Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall. (Proverbs 16:18)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

It is prideful arrogance that gets humans to think that they can essentially completely control the economy and just borrow and print up money. They cannot. Weather, political events, diseases, wars, morality, technology, and other factors play a role.<\/p>\n

Plus, there is also the matter of debt accumulation by the USA and biblical prophecy.<\/p>\n

Those who will believe the Bible will take the words that God spoke to the prophet Habakkuk seriously.<\/p>\n

Now, the last news item I cited above also contained the following:<\/p>\n

You’re making a high-stakes bet that everything is going to be ok in that one country \u2014 forever.<\/p>\n

All it would take is for the economy to tank, a natural disaster to hit, or the political system to go into turmoil and you could lose everything\u2014your money, your assets, and possibly even your freedom. 03\/21\/18 http:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/the-national-debt-is-rising-much-faster-than-the-economy-2018-3<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

One of the reasons that the above is interesting to me, at least, is that I wrote the following in my book Donald Trump and America\u2019s Apocalypse<\/a>:<\/p>\n

The debt situation of the U.S.A. is putting it at risk of being unable to recover should it be hit by weather problems, terrorist acts, war, riots, solar flares, severe earthquakes, civil unrest, devastation of their genetically-modified food supplies, food shortages, and\/or various pestilences\u2013an intensity of \u201csorrows\u201d such as Jesus discussed in Matthew 24:4-8 leading up to the time of the Great Tribulation. Political issues, climate change, trade policies, communication\u2019s deals, and other events are pushing the U.S.A. to a position that will encourage its takeover someday. Disasters, especially if there is an ElectroMagnetic Pulse (EMP) attack or a severe solar flare storm, could be part of a so-called \u201cperfect storm\u201d of events that could set the USA for destruction.<\/span> (Thiel B. Neither the Federal Reserve nor the US government can stop weather problems, earthquakes, or the prophecies in Matthew 24:4-8 that will lead up to the time of the Great Tribulation.<\/p>\n

Do not believe that the USA will continue indefinitely and that its debt can continue to rise.<\/p>\n

Repentance is needed. The USA and its Anglo-Saxon allies will not last to the end of this century (watch also End of the Anglo-American Order<\/a>).<\/p>\n
