There are concerns about higher grain prices leading to shortages:<\/p>\n

Fears of a <\/span>global food crisis <\/span><\/strong>swept the world\u2019s commodity markets as prices for staples such as corn, rice and wheat spiralled after the US government warned of \u201cdramatically\u201d lower supplies.<\/span><\/p>\n

An especially hot summer in the US, droughts in countries including Russia and Brazil and heavy rain in Canada and Europe have hit many grain and oilseed crops this year. This has raising concern of a <\/span>severe squeeze in food supplies…<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The fall in supplies has prompted countries such as Russia and Ukraine to impose export restrictions on grains.<\/span><\/p>\n

Big importers in the Middle East and North Africa have started to hoard supplies, which has further tightened the market. <\/span>http:\/\/www.ft.com\/cms\/s\/0\/12b06cee-d300-11df-9ae9-00144feabdc0.html<\/span><\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Of course, food shortages are prophesied.\u00a0 Jesus warned that \u201cfamines\u201d would be part of the \u201cbeginning of sorrows\u201d (Matthew 24:7-8).\u00a0 In the Book of Revelation, food price inflation is predicted with the ride of the third horseman (Revelation 6:6).<\/p>\n

Related to the third horseman of Revelation, Evangelist Richard Ames wrote:<\/p>\n

The third seal presents a rider on a black horse, representing the scarcity of food and the resulting famine\u2026Cynics say there have always been wars, famines and pestilences. But, as time goes on, we will see the four horsemen of the apocalypse intensify their ride, with increasing global consequences. (Ames R. The Middle East in Prophecy<\/a>. Living Church of God<\/a>, 2006, p. 24)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

While we are not yet to the final intensified ride of that horseman,\u00a0 part of the \u201cbeginning of sorrows\u201d that Jesus referred to could have started.\u00a0 Food shortages will affect more than Africa and the Middle East.<\/p>\n

As Jesus said:<\/p>\n

37 And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch! (Mark 13:36-37)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Food prices are something to watch.<\/p>\n

Tougher times are coming.\u00a0 And for some parts of the world these tougher time may be here now.\u00a0 People who can prepare, should.\u00a0 Both spiritually and physically.<\/p>\n
