China and the USA continue to have differing positions on the South China Sea:<\/p>\n

The U.S. military had unusually strong words for Beijing over social media on Saturday after recent reports that an American reconnaissance plane had been warned to \u201cleave immediately\u201d during a flight near China\u2019s man-made islands in the contested South China Sea. …<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u201cLeave immediately and keep out to avoid any misunderstanding,\u201d a voice was heard in a video.<\/p>\n

In response, the U.S. military plane noted that it was conducting \u201clawful military activities beyond the national airspace of any coastal state.\u201d …<\/p>\n

On Saturday, at least three of the U.S. military\u2019s Twitter accounts had forceful words for China over its warnings.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will sail, fly and operate wherever international law allows,\u201d the U.S. Navy\u2019s verified Twitter account said Saturday in a retweet of the CNN story. The U.S. Indo-Pacific Command\u2019s verified account also retweeted the story, writing that: \u201cThe United States will not be \u2018warned off\u2019 from lawful operations in international waters and airspace.\u201d<\/p>\n

In Japan, where the P-8A that flew near the South China Sea islands is believed to be based, U.S. Forces Japan\u2019s Twitter account echoed this sentiment. https:\/\/www.japantimes.co.jp\/news\/2018\/08\/11\/asia-pacific\/u-s-military-strong-words-beijing-warnings-flight-south-china-sea\/#.W27sNrgnYuU<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

According to the Lowy Institute\u2019s latest Asia Power Index, China is set to surpass the United States as the most powerful country in the Asia-Pacific region by 2030.<\/p>\n

Nowhere is this more clear than in the South China Sea, a marginal sea in the Pacific Ocean bordered by 10 competing countries. Over the past five years, the size and scale of China\u2019s land-reclamation has intensified, with satellite evidence of military build-up and threats uttered to the rest of the world \u2014 including Australia.<\/p>\n

The sea continues some of the world\u2019s most important shipping lanes, and is believed to hold trillions of dollars in undiscovered oil and gas reserves. …<\/p>\n

Dr Taylor describes Taiwan as a \u201cticking time bomb\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cAmerica’s military ability to defend Taiwan is already at its limit,\u201d he writes. \u201cThe US advantage will likely be gone in a decade \u2026 allowing Beijing to deny America access to this theatre. …<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause time is running short. Well, “doomsday” or Armageddon will come, but not for several years–at least.<\/p>\n

The Bible tells of a time when there will be a confederation of the \u2018kings of the east\u2019 that will get together:<\/p>\n

12 Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, so that the way of the kings from the east might be prepared. 13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 14 For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.<\/p>\n

15 “Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.”<\/p>\n

16 And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon. (Revelation 16:12-16)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This will include Russia, China, Korea, Japan, possibly even the Philippines. Things will one day dramatically change, militarily, in Asia, in terms of cooperation.<\/p>\n

It needs to be understood that China does not just want territory and rights in the South China Sea. It also wants to dethrone the US dollar as the world\u2019s reserve currency (watch also US Dollar being challenged by Gold-Petro-Yuan<\/a>) and lead the world. Its Silk Road project is a way to get influence throughout Asia (watch also Is China paving roads to Armageddon?<\/a>). Similar to what is prophesied for the European Beast of Revelation 13<\/a>, China is using economic and forceful means to pursue its objectives. But China will NOT be the dominant leader of the world after the USA–Bible prophecy clearly points to Europe for this (for more details, see Europa, the Beast, and Revelation<\/a>).<\/p>\n

China also has eyes on Australia. Notice the following:<\/p>\n

Trade Minister Steven Ciobo sought to downplay reports of strained ties with China after state media said Australia should be punished for its arrogance.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Bloomberg Television, Ciobo acknowledged that there were differences of opinion and said dialogue between the two trading partners was critical. But he insisted the relationship was on a sound footing.<\/p>\n

\u201cNone of us get particularly worked up over media. Whether it is media here in Australia or media in China, there are elements of it that frankly hyperventilate,\u201d Ciobo said Thursday. \u201cWhat matters is the high-level discussions that actually take place.\u201d<\/p>\n

China\u2019s Foreign Minister Wang Yi earlier this week blamed Australia for difficulties in the relationship, saying the nation should \u201cdiscard its traditional thinking and take off its tinted glasses to take a proactive approach towards China\u2019s development.\u201d …<\/p>\n

China\u2019s Global Times newspaper this week said Beijing should cut imports to teach \u201carrogant\u201d Australia a lesson and leave it \u201changing for a while.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ciobo said that China had in the past accused Australia of being too \u201cbeholden\u201d to the U.S. — its most important security partner. China is Australia\u2019s biggest trading partner. https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2018-05-23\/australia-downplays-china-spat-says-media-can-hyperventilate<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

China has made similar disparaging comments about Australia before. Contrary to the hopes of people like Australia’s Trade Minister Steven Ciobo, this will not end well for Australia. What will Australia do?<\/p>\n

Australia has always believed that it doesn\u2019t have to choose between its economic relationship with China and its defense alliance with the United States. But 2018 is already shaping up to be the year of the hard choice. …<\/p>\n

There is a lot at stake, including potentially Australia\u2019s ongoing prosperity.<\/p>\n

China is clearly not happy with Australia\u2019s adherence to the US alliance and if it follows through on veiled threats to boycott Australian exports and limit investment, Canberra\u2019s loyalty to Washington could come at the expense of significant economic pain.<\/p>\n

China\u2019s hawkish Global Times newspaper, widely viewed as a mouthpiece for the ruling Communist Party, spared no niceties in an op-ed last week that warned Australia against \u201cinterference\u201d in the South China Sea (SCS) territorial disputes.<\/p>\n

Australia was \u201ckissing up\u201d to the US and risked \u201cpoisoning\u201d its relations with China, which could \u201cadopt strong countermeasures which will seriously impact Australian economic development.\u201d 01\/08\/18 http:\/\/www.atimes.com\/article\/australias-hard-choice-china-us\/<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Militarily, the Aussies realized decades ago that they would rely on the USA.<\/p>\n

Australia will learn that the USA will one day be defeated (Daniel 11:39) and not be able to defend it.<\/p>\n

It also will likely find out that China will take it over (watch Are Chinese threats against Australia for real?<\/a>).<\/p>\n

The current world order dominated by the USA, and formerly by the British Empire is being changed. The Bible shows that the time of Jacob\u2019s trouble (Jeremiah 30:7) is getting nearer\u2013and that will greatly affect the USA, the UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand which have descendants from Jacob, also known as Israel.<\/p>\n

China is trying to rise up and spread its influence.<\/p>\n

The Bible tells of the final Time of the Gentiles<\/a>. (Luke 21:23-24; Revelation 11:2). This at least partially means that this is the time when the descendants of Israel will no longer dominate the world scene. We are getting closer to that time and the start of the great tribulation (Matthew 24:21; see also When Will the Great Tribulation Begin?<\/a>).<\/p>\n
